Collar Description
Description: As a slicer it's your job to get into places you're not supposed to be, to get information that you're not supposed to have. So this means when said information is acquired you need to be able to have a place to store it, and the best place to hide something is where everyone can see it.
How it's built. The collar is built pretty easily, it's your basic piece of tech and wires. It consists of a data storage unit where memory sticks or digital transfers of information can be uploaded to for storage, along with a comm unit built into the collar. These are the standard features built int it but the more unique features of this collar is that it's built with biometric activated locks on the inside of the collar that only allow it to only function when it's around Nyx's neck or when she takes it off.
Capability. The biometrics are the unique part of the collar. The scanners on the inside of the neck scan Nyx's DNA from her skin and activate the collar, from there she can use as she see fits. However whenever data needs to be deposited or if she simply wants to use the choker without it being on her she may remove it and use a small index finger scanner on the back collar to activate it. But the collar does more than just store data, it's a functioning comm unit with the ability to send a standard distress signal to the open galaxy or Nyx's selected contacts depending on the situation. But what protects the collar from ion damage is the Agrinium mesh that acts like a small faraday cage, but large scale EMPs will fry the collar.
Drawbacks. While the biometrics are great they are limiting, which also means that Nyx can't give the collar to anyone else, she has to physically be wherever it is to give crucial information or upload it via a separate memory stick on another device. And while it does need to be said communication jammers will block any signals that the collar can send including communications and distress signals.
Summary. Overall it's a pretty sweet piece of tech without overloading the collar, it's essentially just a storage unit and comm unit that can only be accessed by Nyx.
