NP-01 SATSUMA CLASS STORMTROOPER ARMOUR

The original prototypes of the NP-01 Stormtrooper armour were first trialed for the personal guards of Governor Darius Vex. After a 6-month test run, production of the armour began in the Hark region on Neo-Polis, and a year later it became standard issue for the planet's military. The Satsuma Class Stormtrooper Armour is modelled closely on the FO-02 variant of Stormtrooper armour, but variations have been made in its design to make it more lightweight, and easier to maintain. Darius Vex, being a huge admirer of the First Order, made one of the objectives of the Satsuma class armour to capture the feeling of power and intimidation exuded by the First Order variant.
The NP-01 is designed for and urban environment, where freedom of movement and lightweight armour are required. The Satsuma class armour has seen success in paramilitary and police groups, that favour the armour because of its anti-ballistic properties.

- Padding. Unlike other stormtrooper armour, the leg armour is made up of a series of overlapping pads made of a lightweight composite of armourweave and durasteel threads.
- Lightweight. Composite padding on the legs is much lighter than the typical armour plating, allowing freedom of movement, and the ability to carry more equipment.
- Durable. NP-01 armour sets are expensive, and so are designed to last as long as possible, by stripping delicate or overly complex systems, the armour can remain functional with only basic maintainance for many years.
- Non-modular. NP-01 armour is produced to fit a variety of sizes and body shapes, but is not able to be easily modified, or added on to.
- Armour gaps. Areas where plates don't quite overlap (shoulders, neckm knees) the thin armourweave is vulnerable to penetration from blaster fire, or melee weapons.
