Not So Sneaky Fingers

As badly as she wanted to run away and not face the person whose prison they found themselves in, Amora feared running into someone else she knew she couldn't fight. It left her with little option for what to do next. So far with Graxin she was surviving and still had all her limbs and dignity, mostly, so he was a good bet. The thief followed on his heels as he lead the way into the throne room.

Though she did stay close enough to feel out of harm, she kept her distance in an attempt to not be seen by the dozens of people who crowded the area. The realization that her attempts were a failure was presented when she was addressed, "I see you have come with my new treat."

The creature's sickening voice made a knot form in her stomach. Amora never wanted to get close enough to a Hutt to even smell it, much less be its pet. The thief growled under her breath and backed away a bit, having temporarily forgotten that there was an open walkway behind them.

A large hand clasped over her mouth and a pistol was put to her head. Another one of the roaches had shown up to the party and grabbed her from behind. He eased his way around the Jedi, using the thief as a human shield as he backed into the room and out of his reach. The entire time Amora fought his grip, turning up with no resistance.

To get her to quit struggling as much he pressed the weapon harder against her hair and into the back of her skull.

"Oh come on, child. It's not that bad. My other girls love it here." The disgusting creature eyed his slaves in a way that suggested they better agree, which they all did. Amora eyed the hutt, and that's when she caught the glimpse of their clothes. He had them right there with him on display. It was like he was toying with them. The crowd stayed silent in anticipation for what was about to happen. Did the man really think he could take all of them on by himself?

What to do, what to do? The room was filled with armed men and women. If it was just himself, he could simply emit a telekinetic repulse and make his escape in the confusion. Not now though. He cast a wary look toward Jade, and pressed his lips into a thin line. He wouldn't allow her to be hurt--why?

It was the Jedi way, or so he continued to tell himself. The Knight lunged forward with an inhuman speed, his arms guided by the force. The twin blades came to rest just inches away from the Hutt's neck, before any soul in the room would have the time to make a shot. "She won't." he growled. It was a primal anger; a protectiveness that he felt toward the thief that he simply should not have had. It wasn't his way--but it was there, and it took hold now. He had shown her the force, and done his best to keep her out of harm's way so far. He would continue to do so.

"Let her leave--with her clothes, or you'll be looking for a new employer." Graxin meant business. The Hut just stared at him wide eyed, and rumbled with laughter. "And what of you Jedi boy?"

Graxin did not answer. The servant girls, in their panic, began to leave the room. That would make things quite a bit easier.

The Knight stared down at the Hutt, meeting his gaze. The lightsabers edged closer to his skin, enough to burn the slimy flesh. Gorzo grumbled a loud curse. "Right! Right! Take her. Take the clothes. Get her out!"

Amora didn't even notice her partner move until his blades were at the Hutt's throat and he was threatening the guard who held her. The guards grip tightened significantly as he watched the display between his employer and the Jedi. The thief grimaced in pain and looked at Graxin with confusion. Why was he willing to do something as risky as threatening the life of the most powerful being in the room?

As the Hutt caved into his threat the man who held her began to shove Amora in front of him as he went to retrieve her clothes. One hand was around her upper arm as he walked, he had no choice but to holster his weapon to gather her things. The thief stared at Graxin, eyes questioning his actions but she wasn't going to fight against them. She wanted more than anything to get out of that room.

The man tugged at the girl once he had all of her things and drug her out of an exit that wasn't the one they entered. Once they were through the doorway he shut it behind him and shoved the thief to the ground. Amora bared her teeth and turned to face him.

His smile was crooked and his face was covered in scars, "He's gonna die ya know. Might as well forget about him now, you can come home with me instead." The laugh that followed was all but friendly.

"I don't care about him... and I'm not going anywhere with you!"

His expression faded into one of anger quickly. It was apparent that he didn't like a woman standing up to him or refusing him. He threw her clothes to the ground and reached for his weapon, but had somehow lost it during the struggle of getting her and her clothes out of the throne room.

A growl escaped his throat and he glared at the thief, "You're coming, girl!" Since he had no weapon he decided that his bare hands would have to do. He neared the girl with every intention of grabbing her. Just as he bent Amora kicked up at him as hard as she could. Though she had no aim with it, she was lucky enough to strike him in the throat.

The man made a sickening noise and dropped her his knees, wrapping his hands around the wounded area. He coughed a couple of times and the crimson that fell from his lips came out as puddles rather than bits. After choking on his own fluids for a moment the guard fell over onto his side, motionless once he hit the ground.

Amora stared at him, wide eyed as she could get. He couldn't be... no he couldn't. It was only a kick. A simple act of self defense... not even aimed anywhere specific he couldn't be...

He was. The blow to the throat caused his esophagus to cave in on itself and cut off his wind pipes.

The thief had never killed anyone before. She never wanted to kill anyone. Now she just sat there on the ground next to him, propped up by her arms behind her, staring in disbelief. The nagging thought that she needed to grab her things and get the hell out of there reared its head but she couldn't move. She just couldn't believe she had done it.

And then she was gone. Jade would be safe, for whatever it was worth. Whether she pursued her powers or not was a mystery; though he truly hoped she would seek out the Jedi. They would help her with her thieving issues, along with a number of other things. Gorzo stared at him expectantly, and the Knight returned the gaze. What exactly could he do to save his own hide?

"You got your girl Jedi. Now live up to your end of the bargain." Gorzo rumbled. The Hutt's unsettling eyes narrowed, and there was a unanimous agreement muttered around the room. The Knight grit his teeth, and judged just how far away the doors were. This was likely going to kill him, or worse....

"And so I shall." The Knight agreed. He kicked off of Gorzo's mid-rift, knocking the air out of whatever Hutts breathed through. He sailed partway through the air, having only a seconds relief before the enforcers started firing. Graxin batted away a single bolt by luck, but another grazed across his right shoulder. He hissed in pain as he was knocked off course, tumbling into and out the doors instead of landing smoothly on his feet. The enforcers immediately turned to give some form of chase.

Graxin drew in a deep breath, and steadied himself in the cooled sand beneath his feet. He thrust forward with the force, knocking two of the Trandoshans back. The wall of telekinetic energy continued, smacking directly into Gorzo. The Hutt gasped, and fell silent. It was in no way strong enough to kill him, but just enough to perhaps incapacitate him. The enforcers all redirected their attention to their injured overlord.

Graxin narrowed his eyes through the dim light of Tatoonie's night, and staggered over to Jade. He saw the body, then her face, and frowned--crack! One of the last enforcers had fired a high caliber round at Jade, and Graxin was too slow to notice it, let alone redirect it. Rather, he turned toward the sound and wretched the shooter from the top of the palace with the force, sending him tumbling down into the dunes below.

The guards motionless body held her attention longer than she hoped. It made her woozy just looking at it. Someone being devoid of life was unnatural for her when it was she herself to make it that way. Amora didn't see the Jedi when he began to approach because of it, and she was no where near prepared for what happened next.

At first all the thief felt was the sensation of being pushed as the impact nearly forced her onto her back. Out of instinct her hand flew up to her arm where she had been hit, the pain immediately followed. She couldn't keep back the wail that escaped her throat. Her knees immediately retracted and came to her chest, then she pushed her head down on them in an attempt to block everything out.

Amora held her right arm tightly with her hand, squeezing it almost as she tried to push the pain away. She could feel the warmth of the liquid as it poured over her fingers and rolled down her arm. As much as she tried to stay strong she couldn't, she knew she was bawling. The thief had her teeth clamped together as tightly as she could get them in an attempt to keep back the tears and gather herself.

The wound was already bad but she was unknowingly making it worse by digging her nails into the skin around it. She couldn't keep herself from it though. The more pain she caused to other areas the less she could feel from the major pain.

Amora took a moment to turn her head and look at her clothes. She wanted so badly to grab at least her cloak to cover herself. The girl thought the night was what brought on the cold, but that was only part of it. The shock from the shot to her arm was wreaking havoc on her physical and mental state, causing her to body to shake slightly and prevent her from being able to decide what she needed to do to get somewhere safe and stop the bleeding.
