Not old but not new

On her way towards the meeting place in her hand was a briefcase. In it was details documentation on a few data pads. If anything she had to bit on her pride to be able to do something about getting her business up going again. Seeing that a lot of her business was taken out after over half of the galaxy disappeared.

Just what, you thinking girl asking for his help in a business matter.

Coming to the bottom of the stairs that would lend into the building. Come a big glup of air, that was slowly let go of. Pulling her hair back into a tight bun with two sticks. If he had one wrong move one of those was gong to go into him somewhere the sun don't shine every.

Marek worked with a few people around the galaxy. And that was all due to him wanting to expand the reach of the Techno Union into the galaxy. New markets were opening up every day and new regions of the galaxy were always looking to change who they dealt with. One he wanted to get into is the Fringe Federation. He knew they were having a bit of an issue out there, and once it was time? He’s approach their companies to join the Union.

Or to allow the Union to trade in that space.

This one though, it was a name he hadn’t heard in a while. And he did put a tracker out on her during the whole rapture situation. Still, so much was going on during that time. He shook his head. It didn’t matter now, but he was going to be almost excited to see [member="Seanna Vel"]. Hopefully she’d not hit him. Explaining that to the likes of Sasha Santhe would be tricky.

Finding herself waiting in one of the leather couches in the lobby. To have a young miss nod at her. It was time wasn't it. Picking herself she smooth out her suit. Following by her own hand wrapping tightly around the case. With half of her board members stil MAI. This wasn't what she wanted to do but at less her company could stay in the black. To her this was like pointing herself all over with needles.

This was what it met do what must for the company to sacrifice.

Waiting for the door to come open before stepping in. From the first time they had met wasn't that simple redneck any more. Yes from time to time that temper of her got the best of her but still manage to stay on top some how.

"Greetings mister Starchaser, I hope you are in good health," as much as she hated this small talk it had to be played like a dance. It would be her first way to feel him out.

And where were the spiders
Marek had been dealing with a lot of changes on the corporate front as of late. With many companies becoming automated, he just was working on dealing with all of it, and making it work. Some companies could run automated, others, like Bright Star, not so much. And he was doing what he could to find the ‘returned’ workers jobs, but it wasn’t as easy as it sounded. Seeing [member="Seanna Vel"] again was… going to be interesting.

Last time they saw each other she hit him.

And he had a Master of the Sith teaching him. Now he was just Marek, though there were days he wanted to put on his Darth title and just watch the galaxy burn. But there were more important things and the galaxy didn’t need another person reaching for the power. Giving the woman who entered his office a once over, he smiled.

“Looks like time has done you well, Miss Vel. Have a seat.” He offered a seat at the small table in his office, instead of at his desk. Before heading to the table himself, he went to pour himself a drink. “Interested?” He held up the bottle, being almost sickeningly polite.

Taking herself to the chair before that placing the caseon the table in front of her. Coming to be pulling out the pad she needed at this time. To look up at refreshments being offered. Turning her head up to met his. "You bet..your..I mean to say that would be great.", blinking her own eyes downwards again to make room in front of her by taking the case to her left side. Finding herself with her hand fold waiting for the drink to be poured.

Putting on a smile was it a fake one bet your britches. Opening up what could only been some files she brought along.

I see you made through the happen still one peace, but the question is how the rest of your companies fair."

Taking the glass offered taking a sip before speaking her mind once again. I do have to say that its seem you haven't went down in the quantity of drink around here. If I'm not mistaken isn't this year very hard to come by. "

Marek couldn’t help but smirk. He enjoyed being a little bit… random for people. But to be honest, a lot had happened since he was running around as a Templar, or an Obsidian Knight with [member="Seanna Vel"], teaching her the ropes. A few power shifts in his nation, and a rapture, to name just a few events. Then there was the whole thing with Sasha going on, and well, he figured it was time to NOT create more issues for himself. The Starchaser grinned to himself as he poured two glasses of whiskey, and brought over the ice container, he couldn’t remember if the merchant-farmer took ice.

He did.

Walking over and placing the glass in front of her, he shrugged as he took his seat. “We’ve had our setbacks, something like, over half our work force, that’s Techno Union and other cooperative companies, had vanished overnight. We were able to automate certain jobs, and it saved funds, but… when they all came back…” He waggled his hand as he took a ship of his drink.
“I like to keep the good stuff on hand when discussing business. How is Salliche fairing?”

Setting down her amber color drink of whiskey. Picking up the tong to drop in three pieces of ice. Finding her own way to stall, for a time it wasn't as if she hadn't heard rumors about what been taking place. This only brought a playful smirk to her lips. "Oh you don't say, now worker with out work, tsk tsk." Just what was going on behind those green eyes of her. In away knowing that the gears were turning. Just what this turning coming up with. Putting the drink to her lips.

"I wouldn't want to be in your shoes, unrest of the people, might have big problems on your hands.,..... mmm then again...mmm..nata.. you..wouldn't ..never forget I even started with that thought, not that you know anything about agriculture how many hands it takes to run the farms and ranches." , raising her eye brown a little bit before shifting in her own chair as she pick up the pad starting to move threw some of the pages of the different planets she now had investments on.

“It’s a problem in our industry, making the most of profit, but keeping a good public image.” He knew certain folk, like Gerion Ardik were loving automating the work force, and Bright Star could pick up the slack, they needed servers, cooks, and dealers, people who were… well alive and responsive and engaging. Droids were a bit cold for that. Plus, it was giving Bright Star a more personal and organic touch. "Just takes the right bit of planning for it, is all.” He nodded. Was it that simple?

Never.

“We’re doing our best from this side of things to remedy the situation. Its just… slow moving.” Marek shrugged and took a sip of his drink, resting his leg on his knee, trying to get comfortable. He hadn’t seen [member="Seanna Vel"] in a while and wasn’t sure how this meeting was going to go. “How are things looking on your side? Staff but no land? Or land without staff?”

Rolling her neck around to loosen up her neck. As if it wasn't already tense from just stepping foot in the same room as [member="Marek Starchaser"]. After all it was her own doing being here. Not that she didn't have her pride getting in the way the first time she was here. Talking the same kind of business. but now came the end game. In needing of something that he had a supple of. It came down to if she could put that pride to work out a way to get what she wanted. At a price that wouldn't cost her a arm and leg. Which she knew all to well a man such as Marek was after the bottom profit.

"Now that is a very good question for you to ask,", did he take her as a full that she after all this time would just lay her card out in a straight. No the key this getting what she wanted was to make it look like she wasn't as desperate as she really seem to be.

Our you offering something out the kind of your heart, sweetie"

Coming to mine it couldn't be that easy there would be a price or did he already know as land didn't disappear like that of flash.

Marek was behaving, mostly, nowadays. With Sasha on his case, there really wasn’t much time for him to be out there causing issues for other beings in the galaxy. Probably for the best, honestly. It was interesting, though, how things came full circle nowadays. Still, when he was out with his assistant Alana, or venturing the galaxy and spotted a dime on the bar? Yeah, he WAS Marek. But… he should probably be focusing on the woman at hand, and, the other woman, who was the matter at hand, currently.

What the Foreman of the Techno Union was doing, was playing it all straight. “You don’t get to run things without asking the questions.” Marek laughed and shook his head. “But I’m honestly trying to lend a hand. The trick is, we’re a technology union, farming isn’t exactly our thing.” And he didn’t fall into a twang at all while saying that.

“But we do have hands, and lots of them, that’ll take whatever work they can get.”

[member="Seanna Vel"]

Looking him straight in the eyes as he spoke to her. Not seeing anything else behind them. Again he was one to be such sly bastard, then she didn't fault him for this it was just human nature for some. Finding her own way towards a deal of her choosing at less she hope so. Letting the eyes play together in her glass as if thinking long a hard for her next choice words. "At less one thing, Marek your not being cheeky bastard I seen you do so many times.

Had he really changed before her eyes got raid of his old skin. Not that she wasn't liking this new one at all. Still one had that little seed of doubt in the back of ones mind. Lending forward on the desk, "Bottom line, is your stuck in a rock in a hard place, you got mouths to feed.", waiting for him to answer before going for her end game.

And where were the spiders
There was definitely something about [member="Seanna Vel"] today. He couldn’t pin-point it, all he knew was that he approved. A new attitude, maybe? A bit more mature, more confident. He approved. Girl had come a long way. When she spoke, he quirked up an eyebrow. “Yeah, it’s a new game nowadays. Things have changed.” A bit. Marek was making calls and doing things that mattered to more than just him. Scary.

The time apart really changed the both of them, it seemed. “Well, we can handle the unemployment riots, or send them over to the Selectivists, make it their problem, gorram communists.” Really, he probably shouldn’t be discussing politics with Seanna. “Are you looking for employees?”

"Isn't everything always changing.", for one to denied chance would be a fool in this line of business she was in. Even so she wouldn't be here if she some how didn't think there was a chance of something more from just this one time agreement. Just what was she after now came the real truth of how much had she learn, but how much did she still have to learn in this cut throat business.

"So here the other part, of my business today, you know people, I have product that needs to be moved and exponentiation that one like myself wants to make in the galaxy, you could say I want a bigger piece of pie out there."

Taking a long drink before settling it on the table and folding her hand with in each other, then lending forward. Giving him one of her own looks that only told him how serious she was on that last part.

"For what you do to those that need some light discipline its not bad at time but there could be so many other ways to handle that section of the population." just what was she getting at only her own little mind was at work there.

"Yes I am looking for worker but more then that I'm looking for a concrete of the protect these worker would be helping to create and produce."

The galaxy was one of those canvases that never sat still. It was also like sitting on the shoreline, watching the waves come in. There was always one after the other, and sometimes it’d be raging by a storm, or it’d be calm and not much would happen, but it would always cycle around. And that was just what happened. Needed to ride it out, and wait for the calm before you made a move in any direction. Something Marek knew all too well.

Kind of like how [member="Seanna Vel"] was back in his office, again. He wasn’t so sure he’d see her coming around, after she …. He thought… left Abrion space. He didn’t hold ill-will against most. Do what they needed to do to get what they needed out of life, and all that. But coming back? “We’re all looking for a bigger piece of the pie, but… The trick is, whats in it for the Techno Union. We’re always glad to help, but there needs to be profit in it for the Union.”

He sipped his drink, and looked at her. “We can give protection, corporate fleets, possibly the full military fleet. Would you be giving incentive to the Abrion Authority of profits, or discounts?”

Her own eyes now locked on him, after what seem to a long drawn out pause for her to ponder. It was after some time which time she spoke. MM what is it in for the Union. tapping her long slender fingers on the table. Raising her eye brow to him this what all boiled down to. Came down to the old a saying if one scratch one back then the return had to be done. This was the part where she would have to tip toe it was like a water dance being played with each other.

"Let see now if I want the piece of this grand pie you want your share of it... that is what boils down to, after all I am helping you out with the worker problem...I suppose now we need to talk about the all mighty credits..

And where were the spiders
[member="Seanna Vel"] caught on quick. Must’ve learned something from her time as Marek’s student. Not apprentice, not really, but student, sure. Credits and how was her company going to assist the Union and its patron nation the Abrion Authority? Sure, he was all for helping her out, but if he was going to host her in this sector of space, there needed to be perks for the government.

“We can offer you farm space on several worlds. In exchange, I know that the government, and politicians will want a discount on your products. We’ll pay, of course, but subsidization would be helpful so they don’t try to chase down another aggie company.” Wow, he was speaking lingo that would make politicians cringe. Well, Feth them.

Shifting her eyes at him. Coming next was something so out of character or was it for her. Taking the pad as she took her own look in some of the planet with in the Union. This as she could see was very much able to term that there was a few that turn her a well profit that if she could get a hold of most of the holdings of those agriculture on those planets.

"aw yes, very good protental" Seeing that she would have much more research to do on those planet to wessle her way in. With the shortage of workers it wouldn't be that hard. It all came down to timing. That something that she now knew a lot more about. Finding herself unable to hold back will at less for this little part of the dance.

"Oh yes now we could have a deal there, if these products can have a great yield, after all farming has so many varable like weather, soil, seeds, in of those can't be totally control, that in forefront is weather and climate."

Coming to her then she looked at him with a look of a thought but keep it to herself if there was a research divions then maybe just maybe there would be a higher rate that they would turn a profit every time harvest[member="Marek Starchaser"] came along.

And where were the spiders
The Union was basing itself mainly in Abrion Space, sure, they were branching into another region, but those weren’t going to be reached by just anyone. And with Bright Star at the head, Marek was hoping to bring a variety of worlds into the selling points, especially ones in the safety of the One Sith flood. Maybe, if they’d allow foundries on their worlds.

She could take time to do her research, meet with her board if she needed to. “Well, we’ve got experts on each world, about their ecosystems and climate. Some of the best climatologists in the galaxy are working around here.” Hired on by Marek’s science think-tank, S.T.E.B. “If you need to meet with your board, we can have you getting planet side sometime soon, checking the worlds out.” And things.

And stuff.

Hopefully no zombies.

Or worse yet, zoombies.

This got her a coiling smile upon her lips. This was right where she wanted this to lend to. Following her own hands with in each other. As if she but a child again just got a key to a candy store fully stocked for her own picking. After all what kind of business woman would she be with out her own dealing or in her case bigger plans for those around the galaxy. Beside even those working for him could be bought for a price or in her case blackmailed. Knowing now that she couldn't see it long ago how glorious her gift would be in her future.

"I think this is a wonderful idea, then my people could get up to speed with each of the planets that are pick out in this galaxy.", unfolding her hands then folding them again until she was content. Picking up her own glass and pushing it towards him, but also to give it a bit of a tip in his direction that he had himself a deal.

And where were the spiders
Right now, Starchaser’s primary focus was getting people employed and off government subsidies. This wasn’t the Rebel Alliance, nor the Vitae whatever. This was Abrion. They worked for everything they had, and they were paid, in credits. They then could trade those credits for goods and or services and that was how a capitalist nation worked. Sure, he understood that automated workers were cheaper, and that was even something Haor Chall was doing. Just… Bright Star couldn’t hire everyone.

Thankfully they were turning profit since the return. Apparently people enjoyed organics.

“That makes sense. Get them working around the galaxy, and we’ll see what the Techno Union can do to make deals for you. If you need it.” He nodded, thinking [member="Seanna Vel"] could more than handle herself.
