Not a Common Admiral At All, But a Great One

Over and over again, the words of former Senator Alexander had repeated in her mind. He had called her an Empress of an Empire, an Empire that forces others to bend to it's will and declares war on those that don't. That couldn't be further from the truth, but it had certainly resonated with her. No sooner did Yutan's government decide to sever ties with the Commenor Systems Alliance, that the Sith took advantage of the political nightmare and struck. In the end however, it worked to the CSA's favour, with the Yutanni people and certain members of the government wanting to be under their protection once again. Politics was a dangerous game, like in holo-chess, sacrifices had to be made in order to come out on top. Kay was too far into the game to quit.

After some talks with her husband and King, [member="Veiere Arenais"] , she had contemplated reversing her decision of creating the Senate. The idea was a good one, and it was Veiere's suggestion to alleviate her stress. But instead it had only increased it, causing more strife. She had no control over the other Senators. That was made clear as their meetings were never in full attendance, not even in emergencies, and the creation of the Charter and Laws fell solely on her to create and ratify. Only Senator Alexander had urged a few edits, but he had resigned shortly thereafter.

Kay's situation in life had changed. Something that had seemed impossible had become possible. The bloodline of Veiere's will continue. There will be a true heir to the throne. A high volume of stress wasn't good for her to have, so it was through her husband's advice that she chose to abolish the Senate and go back to a monarchy system. In a sense, she was creating an Empire, but she didn't want to carry the title.

One by one, she chose to meet with the Senators in her office in the Senate Hall. Individually they had decisions to make. But the abolishment of one role didn't mean that new opportunities wouldn't arrive.

Senator [member="Corey Brave"] was the first on her list. The representative of Gyndine was well on his way to being the Vice-Chancellor. Now however, she had something else to offer him instead, one that better suited both himself and his homeworld.

Kay cradled a cup of tea in her hands as she waited for him to answer her summons. She wasn't seated at her desk, but on one of the other chairs. He was already in the building, she knew that. Hopefully this meeting will end on a high note.

Corey thought that things would go back to normal when the Yutan situation was resolved, but he understood things would never be the same again. The senate had been a nice way to advance his already polished political career but he knew that it would only carry him so far. His only regret was that it had gone as planned the other senators seemed more interested in their home affairs to contribute in any meaningful way, this led to many in Alliance questioning it's worth as a democratic institution. The Queen of Commenor [member="Lady Kay"] had been an ally of his, he always wanted to keep her close so that in the future his political situation could be improved.

He was sitting at his desk of his senate office when he was informed that he was being summoned to meet with Kay. The two had not had a one on one meeting in quite some time, but it wasn't an unwelcome visit. Whenever the two meet Corey seemed to come away with more power and influence within the Alliance. The senate hall had been a marvel to the entire galaxy when it first opened and a beacon for home for all the planets involved in the CSA, but now it represented a significant failure for the political system of the Alliance.

He walked into Kay's room expecting to find the Queen at her desk, but upon scanning the room further he found her with a cup of tea in one of the chairs. He decided to sit in the seat beside her.

"Kay, it's great to see you again. To what do I owe this great and very pleasant surprise"

Kay looked up as [member="Corey Brave"] came into her office. She just gave him a small smile and nod as he sat down in the chair next to her. Though it wasn't an entirely genuine smile. After some of the Senate meetings, she was well aware of his drive for power, even going so far as to seem to support decreasing her own. Still she knew how to handle him.

"Well, I bring both good news and some bad news. The bad news is that given current events, I am going to be abolishing the Senate. After some discussion with my husband, we figured that it was a failed experiment that could perhaps be brought up again in the future. Instead of decreasing the amount of stress upon me, it only increased it and I was left to do all the work on my own." She sipped her tea. Knowing what condition she was in, too much stress wasn't a good thing for her to have. "The good news for you is I'm offering you not only the opportunity to have Gyndine supply mist of our Alliance's fleet, but also to offer you the opportunity to not only be the head of our military and navy, but to be my head advisor for it as well. Do you accept?"
