Over and over again, the words of former Senator Alexander had repeated in her mind. He had called her an Empress of an Empire, an Empire that forces others to bend to it's will and declares war on those that don't. That couldn't be further from the truth, but it had certainly resonated with her. No sooner did Yutan's government decide to sever ties with the Commenor Systems Alliance, that the Sith took advantage of the political nightmare and struck. In the end however, it worked to the CSA's favour, with the Yutanni people and certain members of the government wanting to be under their protection once again. Politics was a dangerous game, like in holo-chess, sacrifices had to be made in order to come out on top. Kay was too far into the game to quit.
After some talks with her husband and King, [member="Veiere Arenais"] , she had contemplated reversing her decision of creating the Senate. The idea was a good one, and it was Veiere's suggestion to alleviate her stress. But instead it had only increased it, causing more strife. She had no control over the other Senators. That was made clear as their meetings were never in full attendance, not even in emergencies, and the creation of the Charter and Laws fell solely on her to create and ratify. Only Senator Alexander had urged a few edits, but he had resigned shortly thereafter.
Kay's situation in life had changed. Something that had seemed impossible had become possible. The bloodline of Veiere's will continue. There will be a true heir to the throne. A high volume of stress wasn't good for her to have, so it was through her husband's advice that she chose to abolish the Senate and go back to a monarchy system. In a sense, she was creating an Empire, but she didn't want to carry the title.
One by one, she chose to meet with the Senators in her office in the Senate Hall. Individually they had decisions to make. But the abolishment of one role didn't mean that new opportunities wouldn't arrive.
Senator [member="Corey Brave"] was the first on her list. The representative of Gyndine was well on his way to being the Vice-Chancellor. Now however, she had something else to offer him instead, one that better suited both himself and his homeworld.
Kay cradled a cup of tea in her hands as she waited for him to answer her summons. She wasn't seated at her desk, but on one of the other chairs. He was already in the building, she knew that. Hopefully this meeting will end on a high note.
