BIOGRAPHY:
Norest was fascinated with machinery for as long as he can remember. He was the type of kid that would take engines apart and study it’s components while his peers were busy playing outside. Although Norest never knew his mom, he always had a strong bond with his father, Ceitt, who worked as a mechanic for the local cloud car rental service. He didn’t earn much, but he loved his job, and hoped Norest would work there as well.

Ceitt often took Norest with him to teach him more about his craft. His father’s coworkers took a liking to him, seeing him as a kind of a mascot of the workshop. Norest was known around the workshop as "The little sprocket”, but as he grew older and older, everyone started calling him just Sprocket. Eleven years passed by without a change. Norest was now nineteen, still working in the same workshop as his father, still known as Sprocket, stil learning the minimal wage.

But that all changed one day, when Ceitt got sick.

His sickly, old body started heating up fast. He was swearing and grunting from pain every night. Norest tried to take him to the doctor, but they didn’t have enough credits. He started taking on multiple part time jobs, frequently going without sleep as long as four days. All that stress and restlessness had a destructive effect on his work. He was slow, he couldn’t meet the deadlines for repairs. His boss decided that he wasn’t worth keeping around anymore. He fired both him and his dad. Norest was devastated, as that was his main source of income and the only hope to earn enough to afford for his father’s medicine.

A few days later, his father died. Having nowhere to go, "The Little Sprocket” decided to leave it all behind. He sold their house and decided to try and get a job on a spaceship by posting notes saying "MECHANIC FOR HIRE” in every cantina he visited, no matter what kind of crew was on said ship. Anything to get away from this planet. Anything to get away from the memories.
