Nomad Forgeworks is a network of small ship service stations, machine shops, salvage yards, factories, and refineries that work in tandem to manufacture and repair equipment for The Sovereign Dawn. To keep the lights on, most of them only work directly for the Dawn as time and profit margins permit; better to get 25% of something than get 100% of nothing.
RATIONALE
Assembled by Kessari as she grew to power in The Sovereign Dawn, using her leverage as she gained power in one organization to grow her strength in the other. Founded on bribes, backdeals, and buyouts, as Kessari covertly grew the network of small-scale manufacturing and refining, most businesses don't actually know they're part of a conglomerate that exists solely to prop up an insurgency whose whole goal is the freedom of wild space and the destruction of slavery by any means necessary. Though the nature of using small operations limits output and forces the businesses to do other work to keep the lights on, it also makes stomping out the network difficult, as the isolation and redundancy from each other works like a network of cells, so any individual business being taken out or going under has a limited effect on the entire conglomatate.
