Private Noisy Boy

Location: Questal, Junkyard

The crash of metal disrupted the once peaceful night’s air. As night had befallen upon the planet of Questal; a time for peace that was dashed by another crash as the head of a protocol droid had been tossed off to the side followed with grumbling. Ears plugged by buds with the occasional blue blinking light as music albeit muffled could be heard from it.

”Nope, wrong size.” Zane muttered as he tossed a skeletal metal limb off to the side. Causing yet another metallic thud to echo throughout the junkyard. His short blonde hair shifted with the occasional breeze as his gloved hands sorted through the near mountain sized piles of parts from all kinds of mechanical sorts. Junk if one could call it that, yet here Zane was. Sorting through them and tossing out what he wasn’t looking for.

Even during off hours, Zane sought to make use of good quality droid parts or to see what he could put together. Sometimes he found a rare part, something a lot of people often overlooked. That was until he found what appeared to be a deflector shield, to which Zane lets out a long whistle as he looked upon it. Yet the poor thing certainly had its fair share of beatings. Damaged to the point of beyond repair as the mechanic turned over the part in his hands. Based on the size and shape of the generator. Zane assumed that it was supposed to fit inside of a droideka series. It’ll at least explain the blaster marks on the generator from being overloaded or blown apart. Either way, Zane had a thought to pocket such a find when he turned around to notice an unfamiliar sight.

His brow crested in confusion as he casually lifted his hand to pull the earpiece away from his ears as his expression seemed to have paused.

”This isn’t a noise complaint is it? I swear it wasn’t me, it was that guy over there.” Zane joked as he gestured with his free thumb off to the side. The oldest trick in the book so to speak if he could get away with it.

Aris was scavenging.

Which was weird, all things considered. He had no reason to scavenge, and yet here he was, idly looking through some of the scrap heaps and rather effortlessly moving about some of the largest, heaviest pieces of metal and machinery by hand. In truth, he was actually looking for something specific. Speeder parts. He didn't want to just be given the pieces he needed.

And it'd be good to experience more parts of life, right?

Another chassis of a speeder was lifted up and set aside from the pile as he looked about the internal components. He had a check list he was going through, though now he paused as he looked up to see someone talking in the distance. Right, there were other people here. He shrugged indifferently as he went right back to his scavenging.

He still had a couple more parts to get.

"Yeah, I ain't buying that. That kid over there sounds quieter than a Nexu, and you might as well be stomping around like a rancor with all the noise you're making!" It was a middle aged twi'lek from the looks of it with a cybernetic left leg. A tragic accident from a swoop bike racing gone wrong, or so Zane had heard. To which the young man made a face that feigned ignorance.

"Really? Like you haven't done the same thing?" He quipped, and the reward was a click of the tongue as the owner flashed his crooked teeth. Hands placed at the hips as the lekku that draped over his shoulder twitched in annoyance.

"Alright smart guy, just because of that you get to work in my shop first thing in the morning. Just keep the noise down for the love of poodoo." It was guised as punishment, but the twi'lek was familiar with Zane enough to trust in his skills as a mechanic. Whether it was droids, ships, speeders, or even armor Zane was familiar with how each worked and how to fix them. The short blonde haired human shrugged his shoulders.

"Sounds good with me, see ya in the morning Melvan." The twi'lek merely waved Zane off as he turned to walk away. Leaving the pair alone. After Melvan had walked off, Zane glanced over at the other person in the junkyard with him. A bit young, smaller than Zane that was for sure.

"Looking for anything specific over there? Or are you just browsing?" Zane inquired as he still held the mostly busted shield generator in his hands.

"Looking for anything specific over there? Or are you just browsing?"

Almost immediately Aris read off a list. One that he had remembered, but now he was systematically listing off every part he was actually after. Every individual part for a speeder, all so he could make his own himself. He paused before glancing towards Zane, head tilted now that he was finished with the verbal list he'd given.

"What about you?"
