Description: It was while on Kashyyyk that Xenia lost her eye, and to the unlucky mixture of both blaster fire and shrapnel from her own gun. Although she had closed her eye out of reflex, both elements had caused severe damage and impaired Xenia's ability to see. This is her right eye, while the left was relatively untouched. Through well rounded healing, Xenia was able to rid herself of any aesthetic damage had been applied, though the issue of her eyesight yet remained. Using the material make up of her original eye, the organic layers, a new eye was forged through the use of micro technology. The result is an eye which, for all intents and purposes, looks real and functions as a real eye might function, only with additional quirks. Using technology to pass along information through the now severed optic nerves, Xenia is able to see through artificial sources. Additionally, the eye came with new sensory devices, allowing it to claim perhaps better vision than her original. Small bits and pieces allow the eye to flip between a few modes of vision. Among these are normal vision, unchanged from the average human's, a night vision, and a heat related vision. Though another too exists, a signal scanning interface, explained below. The installment, seeing as it actually used what had been left her original body, was less invasive than it might sound.
It should be noted that, while this was made more or less to replace a normal eye, it is in no way the same. As such, there are certainly a set of obvious strengths and obvious weaknesses which come along with the tech. In strength, it offers a near perfect vision, unhindered by light conditions and able to detect heat patterns within relative proximity; though its range cannot span more than a few room's length at most. In addition to these vision settings, the device comes with a perhaps more simple program allowing it to search for signal outputs. Holonet signals, communication signals, the eye is capable of scanning for and locating the origin points for many signals within a relatively short time, though the range is limited to Xenia's more immediate vicinity (the gif at the top of the page is a visual example of the eye being used to search for surrounding signals). Effectively, this might allow Xenia to spot the holo-signals being off-put by someone using a com-link or computer like device. Anything sending and/or receiving a signal would become 'visible' through the eye's sight. It's vision, using the entirety of the 'eye' as camera space, has an improved peripheral scope, offering a negligible advantage over convention vision. On the flip side, the installment is mechanical and is subject to short outs, and electrical discharges, not to mention a horde of other flaws. In being a foreign object the likes of which her body isn't 'used' to handling, Xenia can be haunted by terrible head pains as muscles overwork themselves or wear themselves into exhaustion for whatever reason. Additionally, as the product this form, is rather based on prototype models, it might come with an onslaught of other issues which will be developed and experienced IC.
