    Playby: Esperanza Spalding
  • Personality: Joyous without being trite. Optimistic without being naïve. Grounded without being too serious. Practical without being orderly. Passionate without being narrow-minded.

    Inherent Strengths and Weaknesses:
    • ( + ) One With the Stars : Njeri is at home among the stars. Flying ships, living in space stations, taking space walks. These things all bring her a sense of comfort. And not only is she comfortable, she is familiar, to the point where she is capable of picking out individual stars from most skies/views and knowing what they are.
    • ( / ) Photographic Memory : Everything that Njeri sees she remembers for significantly long periods of time. While this is often a boon, the potential for trauma is high.
    • ( / ) Book Worm : Having spent her life surrounded by books and pads and holos and holocrons, Njeri has absorbed a great deal of information. But her physical strength has suffered as a result. She attempts to make up for the lack of physical strength by being incredibly dexterous, but that only goes so far.
    • ( - ) Wanderlust : Not content to be in one place for too long, Njeri is always on the move. She rarely establishes long-term relationships with friends or even among other Jedi. This often proves problematic as Njeri is not an antisocial hermit and frequently finds her lack of companionship to bring a sense of emptiness. However, rather than attempt to form relationships, that emptiness just fuels her wanderlust, creating a unfulfilling cycle.

  • Njeri was born to one Korunnai parent and one half-Korrunai parent on Haruun Kal. The Korunnai are a tight knit tribal people entirely comprised of Force Sensitives who consider their clans to be extended family. While Njeri's family was as much a part of their Ghôsh as any, they were odd considering the heritage they earned a generation prior from a Human outsider: Mariah Marr. So, when a traveling Jedi Master visited the world, it was not unnatural for Njeri to be considered for joining the tribe among the stars, the Jedi Order. This was not seen by the tribe as malicious or as though they were abandoning the child. Instead, they saw the child's heritage as already having a place among the stars, and so it was only natural for her to return there. As an infant, Master Tiland Kortun brought Njeri to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to be reared among the other Younglings.

Her upbringing was a happy one. Not a troublemaker, Njeri was quite content sticking to the rules and got along well with everyone, children and adults alike. She was a fast learner though, and had a voracious appetite for knowledge. She was thrilled to go to classes and learn from the Knights and Masters overseeing the Temple. Her enthusiasm was not matched with her physical prowess as she frequently fell behind in her fitness training, much preferring to be buried among books and pads and meditations. When her first "competitive" classes began that would judge her capabilities as a Jedi Youngling and determine whether or not she was ready for becoming a Padawan, Njeri excelled with all of the knowledge based tests. But she was ill suited to anything of a physical nature. For the first time, she felt herself begin to fall behind.

She sought advice from the Jedi Librarians, members of the Order with whom she frequently interacted and revered more than any other. They recommended some training holocrons by a Jedi Master of olden times: Master Yoda. She was enthralled by this diminutive little Master who demonstrated great acrobatic skill despite his stature. Her views on the Force began to broaden with the approaches and ideologies he recommended and soon, Njeri was had new things to focus her training. Her successes as a Youngling inevitably earned her an apprenticeship. To her surprise, the same Master who discovered her became her Master, and she his Padawan. She would travel the galaxy with the mystic Master Kortun, soaking up the rich histories and varied vistas of the galaxy. Njeri discovered that she gained as much joy from visiting far off worlds as she did learning about them and their history from a holo.

Along her journeys with Master Tiland, however, she started to see that the reverence she held for history was not held by others. In fact, few truly appreciated a place's or an item's significance, or beauty, or intrinsic value. More and more, she found herself in circumstances where, if she didn't intervene, something incredible would be destroyed or vandalized or placed in the wrong hands. "It was not the Jedi's place to intervene. We are not judge and jury. And we do not covet." These were the tenets that Njeri silently pushed back against. She felt her only choice was to remove an item from harm's way. Not because she desired the object for herself, but so that it could be preserved. After all, wasn't that a librarian's duty? A historian's duty? To preserve knowledge?

She would achieve Knighthood with more questions than answers. Under the guise of taking a pilgrimage, Njeri put the Order behind her and struck out to find her own answers. After more than a decade, she was no closer to an answer. But she had saved a fair number of pieces from the hands of those who would only ever ignorantly disparage them.
  • Lightsaber: Two dual-phase lightsabers, each with a yellow blade. The phases are full-length and half-length.

Attire: Though a set of traditional robes is always packed away on her ship, owing to her heritage of growing up among Jedi, she is rarely seen in them. More often than not, she is wearing various articles of activewear suited for hiking, climbing, and traversing difficult terrain while planetside. In space, Njeri will add jumpsuits to her wardrobe. For casual-wear, Njeri generally wears colorful, long dresses with simple patterns.

Ships: Filled with Grace, a YX-300 Industrial Freighter. Starfish, a Razorfin-Class Racer.

Other Significant Possessions: The Repository: a hidden asteroid base of operations where Njeri moves cargo while she determines how best to dispense items of value to those she deems worthy.
  • Kills: None at this time.

Bounties Collected: None at the time.

Relations: Was raised in a Jedi Temple.
  • ...
"Up Where They Walk": Njeri plots a heist on Glee Anselm.
