Night Wanderings

Sarria walked down the street, or more trying to move down the street without josling any of the groups of people enjoying the fine weather and the sights and sounds of the street. After all street vendors had appeared hoping to cash in on hungry people or those who would impulse buy some trinket or the other for whoever else might be with them. She had managed to find herself a spot on the street corner, not in the main traffic, the regulars had managed to lay claim to those spaces long ago. It did not matter to much to Sarria at least for the moment. She was interested in getting enough credits to get her out of town. That was the problem with travel it took more money than she tended to have on hand.

Therein was the problem. She may have ran afoul of the wrong group of people, although she would claim it was not her fault. After all, how was she supposed to know that rejecting the son of some high placed whatever would earn her a few well placed annoyances if not enemies. Although, she had to admit to herself the look on his face when the drink had hit it, had nearly been worth it even if in hindsight she might have over reacted just a little. Overreaction or no, she had the feeling there were people in town who might decide to make her life difficult if they were so inclined.

Keeping this in mind she was people watching among other things. She was looking for a mark of sorts. She wasn't a con artist exactly, or rather she was not a well practiced con artist. But, in this situation she was in need of someone who could either get her a ticket out of town or someone who might have enough resources to allow her to lay low at least for a little while, either one of these seemed like a good idea to her. All she would have to be was patient and someone would appear.

Or at least she hoped so. If not, well there were other nights that she could try to snag someone useful to her. The problem was finding someone who would be willing to be useful to her but without being so stupid that they were useless, it was a fine line that she was straddling. The other being finding someone who while being useful would not get her into a worse mess than she was already in.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
"HEY! Take that back!" Toshiro shouted, to a a security officer carrying his Raijin Mk1 in both hands. Toshiro, directly following behind the officer. The officer then plopped the massive rifle down on a security checkpoint table. Passersby would quicken their pace as soon as they took a look at the massive firearm. "Im sorry sir, I have to inspect this. I need your ID as well please." The officer said, waving to some idle officers to help him inspect the weapon. Toshiro angrily threw his identification at the table and started angrily pacing in front of the table. "Soooo... Let's see..." One officer said, taking the ID and observing it. "So, Mr Kurojii. What is a wanderer like you doing with this piece of weaponry?"

"Argh! I am a hunter! I hunt animals that are bigger then your house!" He impatiently shouted at the officer. He then switched his anger to a man tinkering with the gun. "Leave the gun alone! That took ages to configure!" The officer acknowledged Toshiro's plea, but continued to tinker and prod at the gun, even opening the ammo boxes attached. Toshiro continued to impatiently pace in front of the table. At this point of anger, Toshiro usually weighs his options to either :

  • Knock out the officers, take the rifle and risk incarceration on other worlds
  • Kill the officers, take the rifle and risk incarceration and execution
  • Take the rifle and run, still risk incarceration
Whatever he was thinking, all he wanted to do was get back on his ship to sell his skins to another planet. He just finished a supply run and needed to quickly sell his skins to get back the credits he needed. Toshiro always had enough money, but he wasn't exactly a big spender, although alcohol would probably drain a bit out of his bank account.

For her part she was trying to avoid trouble, although she seemed to have a talent for finding it. This night seemed to be no exception to the rule. There seemed to be some sort of..issue going on not far from her and while she took a look to see what might be going on she wasn't trying to draw that much attention to herself. The last thing she would need would be to end up with an arrest record on top of everything else. Although given the general attitude of officials with general ability to arrest people she wasn't so sure that was not going to be the case.

Despite herself she was curious, so to that end she did her best to look out of the corner of her eye without out really looking at what was going. Or so she hoped. Clearly there was some kind of excitement. She leaned back to get a better view while still having some sort of valid excuse for looking in the direction she was. Not being entirely stupid, she was prepared to sprint should they begin to fire.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
"I don't like your tone sir."

"I DON'T LIKE YOUR TONE YOU NERFHERDER! WHAT YOU GONNA DO? GO MILKING AFTERWARDS?" Toshiro shouted, angrily at the officer questioning. The officer and Toshiro started rambling to each other, throwing slurs, insults and being rather rude. After the short barrage of insults between Toshiro and the officer, the officer started getting impatient.

"That's it! I'm arresting you!" The officer said, before reaching for his communicator. He would activate it, but then put it back straight away. "Damn it, I forgot our communications were down."

"Wait your communications are down? No contact with any other officers in surrounding area at all?" Toshiro questioned.

"Yeah. Why do you want to kno......" The officer uttered, before being swiftly punched in the jaw by Toshiro. Before the other officers had time to react, Toshiro with his hand struck the officer's throat, incapacitating him into a wheezing mess. By this time one officer started unholstering his blaster. Toshiro, seeing the blaster in the corner of his eye, quickly drew his short sword and cut the officer's gun hand. The blaster fell on the ground and the officer fell down, clutching his hand in pain. The cut wasn't too deep, but wasn't a papercut either.

"OW!!! You cut my hand! Im bleeding!" The officers cried at Toshiro, moving around on the floor trying to relieve the pain. Toshiro moved closer to the table and picked up his rifle with both hands.

"Stop crying you baby, get some bacta on it. You'll be fine." Toshiro said, before kicking the checkpoint table over and looking around for a hiding spot. After a short time he heard the whine of a incoming speeder in the distance, flying unusually low.

"God damn it, I'm guessing thats the next shift."

Sarria was lucky or unlucky enough depending on your point of view to get a good view of the action. She couldn't say she was shocked to see what was going on, not judging by the kinds of moods that had already been on display. For now there wasn't a whole lot she could do, not without getting shot and/or ending up with an arrest record. It was unfortunate that she had the bad luck of being near enough to it that she would likely get pulled in rather she wanted to be or not. The question would be how would it happen and how would she get out of the trouble it would no doubt land her in.

In this case she would likely "hear" in the incoming speeder before anyone else would. One reason being they were all distracted by the potential arrest the second being they did not have montrals, at least in so much as she could see. This of course did not single a bout of good news. If they were bringing in people on speeders it stood to reason they meant business, and while she tried to stay on the right side of the law, it was not always the easiest of things when situations like the one near her was going on.

The advantage to her side was she had a slight head start over the speeder and while she was on foot it would mean she would be able to move through the crowd easier than someone who either had to run people down or wait for the crowd to part. Hoping she was right she decided to do something potentially stupid. Moving towards the chaos she stepped in and hoped to connect some where with the arrestee if she were able to get a good grip she would try to pull him with her. Setting a brisk pace.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
As the whine started coming closer, Toshiro's synapses were firing in overdrive. He started to realise what he just did in a split second of thought, his face changed to an angry one to a blank slate trying to comprehend what he done. He wasn't guilty, just self aware that what he did was (although deserved) extremely stupid. He now had limited options.

  • Fight the next shift, either ending in death or persecution on other planets.
  • Surrender. Which would be equal to death.
  • Get dragged off by a random alien lady...... Wait what?

"Why are you holding my hand? Does it look like I am need of running assistance?" Toshiro proclaimed, dragging his massive rifle on the ground with one hand, and being grabbed by the stranger with the other. As it all happened so fast, he couldn't process the events properly, he just went with it. Surprisingly he was keeping up, even with the massive rifle trailing behind him. Luckily the crowded parted as the 2 kept running through and the gap closed up as they went through.

Back at the checkpoint, the airspeeder containing the next shift were shocked to find their fellow officers utterly obliterated, although not dead. "Someone get a doctor or a medi-droid! Anything!" The guard whose hand was cut said. The next shift carried him into the airspeeder which immediately took off to the nearest hospital.

She was pretty what she just did was a good way to end up in a cell, something she was under the impression was not a very comfortable sort of place to be in, and one as a general rule she tried to avoid. However, due to lack for forethought, at least in part she was doing the thing she herself was aware was a very bad idea. For the moment, her main concern was not being shot while she was doing the stupid thing.

"I'm not the one who was about to be thrown into a cell." She might sound a little smug as she moved, trying to keep it short and sweet and more worried about staying ahead of well...the law rather than have a detailed conversation at least at the moment. The fact he was dragging the weapon behind them was no doubt slowing them down, but they did have a head start to their advantage. Sarria vaguely knew where she was going and being on foot could move through the crowd better than some one on a speeder.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
"He went that way! He had help!" One of the injured guards cried.

"Go go go!" One of the officers said, grasping his blaster pistol and running into the crowd with 2 other officers. They had to shove, shout and barge into everyone they encountered in the crowd. After a few seconds they reached the outside of the crowd, and were stumped. "Where are they?"
The officers scanned the street and saw a white straight line which trailed for a long way. "Lets go!" One officer said, following the trail. Toshiro and the alien, had a pretty good lead but Toshiro started wondering. He started to hear a screeching behind him, which alternated pitch but it was still annoying none the less.

"Wait, wait!" Toshiro said, attempting to stop to see what it was. After a couple attempts looking back he saw that his massive rifle was dragging on the street, marking out an messy but still illegible trail. When Toshiro looked up, he saw the 3 officers starting their pursuit of both Toshiro and Sarria Raeth. Toshiro turned back forward and said "Keep running! The spaceport should be near here!"

She was aware she was now in the middle of a ..situation. She was able to hear the sounds behind her, that would lead her to believe that the officials or officers or whatever they were behind her was not pleased by what had just happened. She was equally aware of the fact if they managed to catch up with them, they would like end up in a cell, if they were lucky. If not a blaster bolt to the back sounded rather painful and not something she was looking forward to experiencing.

She had come to stop and reversed course when it was pointed out that there was a spaceport near by. "Well, if nothing else there will be crowds." She had to admit there was wisdom in that if nothing else. She made a sprint as fast as she could towards the spaceport, every now and then she would glance over her shoulder hoping to see that they were lagging behind them in the crowd.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
Toshiro grabbed his rifle with both hands and charged at a poor guard near the spaceport entrance. The guard was scanning the area, but failed to notice the angry man charging at him with a massive rifle. When Toshiro was in melee distance, he drove the buttstock of his rifle directly into the mans cheek. The guard fell unconscious, his blaster pistol sliding out of the holster onto the ground. Toshiro took a couple seconds scanning a nearby information board for his bay number. Toshiro picked up the blaster pistol and threw it to Sarria.

"My ship is in Bay 10! Its the Belbullab-22. Either go over there or stay and help me deal with these goons." Toshiro said, placing his rifle on a nearby desk and unsheathing his large Atrisian sword. He looked outside and saw the officers going closer to the port.

"The decision is yours madame." Toshiro said, preparing himself for the incoming fight.

Sarria debated on just what to do in the situation she had managed to find herself. Could she handle herself in a fight? More or less, in so much as most people could when presented with people trying to fight them. She did on the other hand know how to work a ship, likely better than she could fight and if they were going to leave in a hurry waiting to start up could cost valuable time before someone figured out what was going on and started to shut down the spaceport.

She was pretty sure they could still get out of that if they had to. If someone was willing to pick a fight over a weapon logic would tell her their ship would be at least able to outrun people if need be. But, only if it was able to get off the ground and into the air before they started to pull out the big guns and tried to pin them down which would end in more of a fight.

"Ship it is." She kept it short and sweet once there was a less active chance of one or both of them being shot she would explain she would likely have better luck with the ship. As it stood she would be more use sprinting for the ship and making herself useful than standing there trying to explain it, so away she went to find the ship and make herself useful.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
When Toshiro saw Sarria run to the ship, he thought, "Oh thanks a lot."

"Go get the girl you two! I'll deal with this guy!" One officer shouted, before the other 2 officers broke off the group and ran behind Sarria. The one guard threw away his blaster pistol and said, "Fight me like a man you coward!". The officer facing Toshiro would put his guard up, ready to fight Toshiro in a fist fight. When Toshiro saw this, he lunged forward and lightly sliced the man's leg before slicing down the officer's shoulders before turning around and walking in the direction of his ship. The officer fell to the ground clutching his shoulder and desperately trying to get up. "ARGH! YOU SWINE! THIS ISN'T FAIR!"

"Who said I was fair?"

Meanwhile, the two guards would take some cover and start firing at Sarria, their blasters set to kill. "Wound her! Don't put it in the report!" One of them shouted. Toshiro walked calmly in the direction of his ship, taking his time to get Sarria back for leaving him to fight the lone officer.

She made a note to point out she semi knew what she was doing later. Assuming of course she did not get shot in the head in a few moments. She was also aware of the fact there was blaster bolts flying by her head. As far as she knew she hadn't been shot, but despite some close calls she did not seem to be bleeding any where, nor did it feel like she had been shot. She weaved to the side just as one aimed for her went sailing by through the air.

After taking a few moments to locate the ship and taking a few more to figure out how to turn it own. She would leave the engines running, so to speak. Just incase he made it to the ship and leaving in a hurry became a really great idea.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
As Toshiro were near the firing officers, he had the element of surprise. He used this to his advantage. With his long sword he quickly dashed to one officer, slicing his back in the process before the other guard had any idea he was there. "Hey freeze you fuc....." One guard shouted, before Toshiro threw his small sword at the officer's leg. Toshiro quickly ran to that guard and swiftly yanked the small sword off the man's leg, before shaking the blood off it and re-sheating his sword. "Sorry lad. Bacta will sort that out."

Toshiro would quickly run to the bay and to his ship, seeing Sarria in it. "Off the controls! Sorry for the tight squeeze. It's a single seater you'll have to just hang on!" Toshiro said, turning on the repulsorlifts and quickly hovering out of the spaceport. "This is not going to be a comfortable ride, just giving you a heads up." He explained, before angling his ship upwards and turning on the sublight engines. His Bellbullab 22 shot out from the planet to the atmosphere is just a matter of minutes, reaching outer space after a couple minutes. The ship was shaking slightly and the hull made strange noises, but overall the escape was a success.

She moved back and debated pointing out if she had wanted to steal the ship she most certainly could have done so, but thought better of it. Being shot at and making a last minute escape tended to make people a little..tense. There was no need to make the situation worse by nit picking. Besides, she had other things to worry about, like getting out alive. Which always tended to take top priorities when it was in question. She was silly that way.

She moved back as best she was able and found a space that would not likely end with her flying across the ship and face planting against the wall. "You ever get this thing looked at?" She asked raising a hand to brace herself against the shaking of the ship. "I mean when the ship is in danger of falling apart before it is shot down, it tends to save them the trouble if we crash before they can shoot us down." Nonetheless she was happy enough to still be in one piece.

Although, she still wasn't sure what she had managed to get herself in the middle of at present. For now, at least she was still in one piece.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
Toshiro was rapidly typing in coordinates while his ship was blasting through space at tremendous speed. "Well, this is over 50/60 years old. Maybe more. And it is unarmed. That might be the problem. I needed something with an engine, a hyperdrive and some storage. I didn't want a bloody Star Destroyer!" He quickly said, before confirming the coordinates. "Trust me they won't think its this ship, they only know what I look like and my name. I didn't register my ship for insurance so they can't track that." He started steering and focusing in front. Toshiro didn't really think on his choice of ship. It was tedious. All he needed was something that could get out of a planet and go to other planets, not perform bombing runs. Having a really inadequate did work in Toshiro's favour. People who inspected the ship or scanned it mistook it as a normal lower class ship, not knowing that Toshiro had the funds to buy hundreds of other ships available. No pirate would suspect such a rich man in a really crappy ship.

"Hyperdrive activation unlocked. Destination : Corusant Sub-sector" Toshiro's ship tannoy said, while his hyperdrive switch started blinking red. "Manual confirmation required."

"I can change the destination, if you want to leave somewhere else but tell me quick before they send up patrol ships."

[member="Sarria Raeth"]

She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the mention of how old the ship was. Well, as long as it held together she wouldn't complain too much. "There is nothing wrong with owning a star destroyer, you know." In any case she was more concerned with not getting shot down rather than just how nice the ship looked. Although, she might care when they were more of immediate danger.

"No, it's fine. Although, at least no self respecting pirate will bother the ship. Of course that does not account for the more numerous less self respecting pirates might. Those are the kind you have to worry about." Which was true enough, the more well to do the pirates were the less likely they were to be the sort who would take out the crew when they saw a ship they wanted. The sorts who would target jiunk ships were more likely to grab and take and not really worry about who or what they damaged.

Toshiro Kurojii

"Call me a Jedi again, and I'll punch you."
Toshiro slammed the hyperdrive switch and readjusted his ship's angle to the target vector. "The hyperdrive is an older model, but not as old as the actual ship. It'll take a couple minutes to reach Corusant." The engines started pulsating and charging up and the hull started shaking. After a couple seconds the ship started to boost forward, to gain the necessary speed to fully activate the old hyperdrive.

"Entering Hyperspace."

giphy.gif

Suddenly, all the stars, planets and nebulae became long streaks around his ship as the hyperdrive kicked in and started to send them to Corusant. Toshiro leaned back on his chair and started to enjoy the view and relax. Since the hyperdrive was old, it took a bit slower to get to destinations. However this allowed him to be able to see the stars and space dance around the ship, which was something that calmed him. It was beautiful. Toshiro turned to Sarria and said, "Thanks....for helping me."

"I don't why you did it, I don't why you decided to help a stranger. You shouldn't of. This was my fault. Well... anyway I am in your debt." Toshiro said, turning back to the view. "Just tell me you need, I'll do my best once we get to the Corusant spaceport."

"Approaching Corusant Sub-Sector in T-minus 30 seconds. Auto-brakes active" The ship tannoy said. "Oh, my name's Toshiro Kurojii. What's yours?"
