Nicknames

If you want a nickname for a character, post here to let others know you requested a nickname for your character and to work it into an RP if possible.

You can pick which name you'd like for your own character, but its sporting to stick with what others would like to call you. Nicknames have a tendency to grow on you. I cheated with io because of the character minimum for names.

I'll keep this post updated with nicknames in use and characters that had names requested for them.

- Usually about something that comes up a lot. Either a memorable story about a character, an important achievement, a role they have, a unique quality of theirs, or just something they do a lot.

- Progression might be: You're really acting crazy Carl. Oh look, Carl's being crazy again. This is my friend Carl, he's crazy. Meet my friend, Crazy Carl.

- You can wait to RP some more if you're new. The more threads a character has, the more inspiration we have to draw on.

- A criminal that never uses a nickname is like an old man fumbling without pants on.

I think the delight of RPing should be in the writing of it. Not planning details ahead of time. Not when you don't have to. It should be spontaneous. That leaves you something to look forward to. A reason to log in and post.

I was thinking about that, and this thread does the opposite. So instead of giving out names OOC it can serve as a more general, "hey, I'd like my character to get a nickname IC, if you come up with an excuse for your character to do that, that'd be cool". Worst that can come from this type of planning is it will give an excuse to RP with someone, and then have their characters do interesting, nickname worthy things. Which is the good kind of planning.

The topic lead will now have a list of characters that had nicknames requested for them for just that.

I'll also give any out to those that asked before I posted this. They're not site canon unless they're used IC of course, which was always the case for nicknames in this thread.

That's no nickname. That's a goddamn alias. Does this thread look like play time? Like we're little kittens playing with string? That we're just napping, drinking mommy cat's milk, and not differentiating between nicknames and aliases?
