The Nexu-class corvette is a unique and highly-modified version of the CR90-class corvette designed by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Modified by the remnants of SunTech Forge Works on the now-destroyed worldcraft Nyx with more funding than is normally available to an individual or even to a military, this ship is a considerable upgrade on its original design using uprated technology in the same hull design for increased efficiency. Much of its passenger capacity and its fighter-carrying capacity was given over to engine upgrades to make the vessel more compact. The eleven ion turbine engines were reduced to eight higher-efficiency engines for greater maneuverability, which includes the SubLight Acceleration Motor technology.
Surprisingly, it is designed to be a smuggling ship, despite being outfitted with military-grade technology. It boasts a number of hidden armaments within the enlarged nose; two warhead launchers mounting a number of optional warheads-- typically assault concussion missiles-- and a tractor beam projector all mount inside the nose, concealing its true abilities. In a pinch, the ship can activate its SLAM drives, stripping it of the ability to fight back but giving it double its speed in order to flee the biggest of enemies. Finally, the shipboard AI lovingly named Sera is designed to run many of the systems in order to reduce crew size and has an AI core hidden deep within the ship.
