New trade towards new opportunites.

Viktor had a promise to keep. A promise to get a CEO a meeting with Commenor's Minister of Trade and the Queen herself should she want to sit it. If nothing else Viktor was a man of his word. He sent a message ahead to [member="Lady Kay"] and [member="Darben Skirae"] a few days before to get on the Ministers schedule. Once he got confirmation he sent a message to [member="Elaine Thul"] requesting her presence in his office at the Senate Hall.

For ease of access for both himself and the Queen he had requested the meeting take place in his office. There was plenty of room and both Viktor and Kay had by necessity been spending a great deal of time there anyway. After all a Senate was a very difficult thing to create and a working Alliance even more difficult thing.


Viktor waited in his office for Elaine and Minister Skirae to arrive. He had sent an assistant ahead to the landing pad to meet and escort Elaine to his office. In the mean time he had a mound of paperwork in front of him between CSA business, Yutan business, and keeping his guards equipped and fed. It was a 36 hour a day job it seemed regardless of the fact that they days only had 24 hours in them. He felt like he was always behind.

To [member="Viktor Alexander"] 's surprise, Kay had not turned the request down. As much as the two didn't see eye to eye on many things, she couldn't let it get the better of her. She had to make their working relationship...well, work. It was important as there could be a day when she would need him on her side. Besides, he had shown her some support already.

Given that she was already at the Senate Hall, she was obviously the first to arrive at his office. Kay knocked on his door a few times as his assistant was elsewhere at the moment. "Senator Alexander, it's Kay." She was going to correct herself, but she held so many titles that she wasn't sure which was the most appropriate. Lady, Queen, Senator, Chancellor, Mrs. Arenais...so many choices. Of course he probably had a few choice names for her too.

[Elaine Thul]

Elaine Thul had made her way back to core world, last time she was here, she was liberating Coruscant ahead of her troops. Today she was trying to make a living, to help support her standing army, and bring more money in for new home world Elysian. As she reached Commenor, she remembered how wealthy the core worlds where compared to the outer rim. Her shuttle descend, she was quite excited she not been many places, since she helped take out the one sith. She came of her shuttle and was met by a few of her housecarls, who got here discretely a few weeks earlier. they where dressed in suits made of armour weave. These where similar to under suit, she had made for [member="Viktor Alexander"], who got her this chance.

Her job was to show her private army strength, her training program, and see if that was of use to them, as well as her armoury. The income form this would help rebuild her new home world, though she did miss being near the core. They had better wine, and tea by the force does she miss tea. She was escorted into her ride, and flanked at all times. She was not expecting trouble, so she did not wear any armour, just a plain purple dress.

She was soon escorted into the senate building, she then looked around a little. Then the receptionist told her to go up, and she began to take a turbo lift up to [member="Lady Kay"] and [member="Darben Skirae"] office, where she was meant to meet her possible new clients. She was soon at the door, and one her men knocked on for her, before she got their. The other was carrying all her notes, of her products and holo tapes of her troops in action.

When he heard the knock on his door and Kay's voice Viktor stood.

"Enter."

Once Kay walked in Viktor smiled.

"Chancellor Arenais thank you for coming. Our guest of honor and Minister Skirae have yet to arrive. I thought you may like to sit in on this one."

He paused.

"Can I get you anything while we wait?"

After getting an answer Viktor would continue speaking as he retrieved whatever she asked for.

"I recently met a business woman by the name of Elaine Thul while acquiring some equipment for my personal guards. She expressed an interest in a possible contract with CSA. Since it is not my area of expertise I told her I would get her in to see Minister Skirae to speak with him on it."

Viktor smiled offering her his own seat behind his desk moving to the other furniture to take a seat himself. A few minutes later his assistant would return announcing the arrival of Miss Thul. Viktor smiled and nodded to his assistant standing once again. Once Elaine was inside he offered her a warm smile.

"Miss Thul welcome to Commenor may I present to you Lady Kay Arenais Queen of Commenor and Chancellor of the Commenor Systems Alliance. Minister Skirae has unfortunately been delayed but will be joining us shortly. Can I get you anything while we wait?"

[Darben Skirae]

Darben had been visiting Mute, after the incident as of late. He had been hesitant about coming with [member="Lady Kay"] to see [member="Viktor Alexander"] and [member="Elaine Thul"]. He may have looked rather tired, but that was from all the sleepless nights he had in recent days.

He arrived outside of the office to see someone entering ahead of him, perhaps Elaine. He was meant to come in, as there had been talk of a possible contract with her, organised by Viktor. He was not sure what kind of contract, that had gone way over his head. He stopped just outside some distance, waiting for her to enter the office before entering himself, giving a small wave to Kay upon entry into the office, and then a slight nod to Viktor and Elaine. His eyes would have looked tired, and a small smile. "So...a contract...let's get started, shall we?" He really wanted to get back to seeing Mute, his assistant.

 

[Elaine Thul]

She was just going to ask for cup tea, then late comer arrived. She then decide to ask anyway, Is it possible to have cup of tea, whilst we discuss the contracts? She then took her seat, and sat with her ankles together, then her holo tapes and projector down on table next to her. Then her housecarl moved to the corner of the room, so not be assuming during the meeting. She then started with her initial sales pitch, as she was sure their would be many questions shortly.

She hand them all a list of her hardware that was available, though she hoped to branch out to making tanks and personal carriers at some point. The list include price per unit, as well as bulk purchases discounts. She then looked around, and looked at the trade minster, and secretly hoped he would not fall asleep during this meeting, and would be paying attention. As he was very important.

She then continued That is a list of all current hardware I can provide you, I can also make other items if you wish, to help with anything you feel your armoury may be missing.
She took a short breath, and continued I also have couple other options I provide training for military personal, as well security officers, and close protection teams.
Also I operate an expeditionary task force for military objectives, they also help liberate Coruscant form the One Sith. She smiled at that, it was one of her proudest achievements.

Viktor turned as the Minister stormed into his office late and without so much as a hello and seemingly took over the meeting. Viktor simply glanced a Kay giving her a bit of a what the heck look before turning to Elaine as she asked for a cup of tea. He gave her a smile and a nod getting it for her as she began her pitch. Once there was a small gap in the conversation speaking to the group.

"My apologies I have an urgent matter to attend to. Please feel free to use my office as long as you need......."

Viktor would nod first to Kay.

"Chancellor..............."

Then to Darben.

"Minister..........."

Lastly to Elaine.

".............Miss Thul."

He would then quietly exit a side door into the hallway. Trade and trade contracts were not his cup of tea. He had fulfilled his promise and leave the manner to the experts. Either Elaine got her contract or she didn't but the decision would be based on the merits of her products and sales pitch. Not anything he did or said. That was perfectly fine with him.

Kay bowed her head to [member="Viktor Alexander"] as he opened the door to let her in. He addressed her with one of her titles. She took note of it so that she'd know in the future. In the meantime she answered his question. "Some tea please, if you have some." After he had gotten it for her, she was quite surprised that he had offered her his seat at his desk. This was his office, not hers. It wasn't right to take his place. So she sat down in one of the other chairs, cradling the cup in her hands while she sipped it. "Thank you. It's lovely."

Her attention turned to [member="Elaine Thul"] as she walked in and then to [member="Darben Skirae"] , the latter of which she was concerned for. He needed to rest and not worry about work.

As Elaine got out her items for what she had available, Viktor took his leave. That was....strange. She nodded to him anways. "We'll try not to be here for too long, Senator Alexander. I hope that all is well."

Kay looked to Elaine after Viktor had left. "Helped liberate Coruscant from the Sith, you say? I'll have to hear that story."

 

[Darben Skirae]

Darben took a seat as [member="Viktor Alexander"] left the room, giving a short nod. He glanced over to [member="Lady Kay"], then to [member="Elaine Thul"] as she began to speak, straight to business. Darben put business first just for this moment, and put a datapad he had brought with him onto the table, with information of all the information that would be needed; credit and tax rates on Commenor, information about Commenor's trade enterprise, such and such.

This Coruscant incident, he vaguely recalled hearing about. But war and such things like that, he kept that all in the back of his mind. He leaned over toward Kay to whisper, "Military? Could we have use for that?" he asked quietly. He looked over the list of hardware she was offering to give. Some of it he did not understand, perhaps Kay and Elaine could explain it to him some more. He saw some weapons on there, and a few other things that were easy to decipher as what they were was listed in the name.

 

[Elaine Thul]

She smiled as [member="Lady Kay"] mentioned wanting to hear about Coruscant, she replied Me and my troops, fought at the black prymid. Then later on after we had that under control, me and the Housecarls moved on to, some sort of sith experiment, never found out what that was though. Though I would be happy to tell you more, another time. She said with a bit of a frown, as she did always wonder what they did their. After that she helped the old republic, but it was doomed as it was terminally weakened, with the war against the one sith. No sooner had it fought of that threat, it gained the anger of mandalorians, who finished the job off. She did fight alongside them, but in the end to no avail. Since then she rebuilt her forces, and had retreated to her home world, as she had lot matters to attend to. Though now her people need more money, to help build up her home world more. As population has ballooned in recent years, and needs for infrastructure meant looking to find ways to pay for it, this was one of such ways.

She then turned her gaze back to the present, she saw [member="Darben Skirae"] whisper something in the queens ear. She was unsure what, and then asked, Do you have any questions over the hardware, I can provide. As their is an extensive range, and I can also design other things, if need be to suit your needs. She prepared herself for the questions, and hoped she could answer them adequately. She realized this was more never racking than fighting in wars, as she could not just call on assistance, or order a retreat.

Kay nodded to [member="Darben Skirae"] indicating that yes, they had use for military. She had some ideas in mind that weren't just for Commenor, but for all of the worlds under their banner. But as there was now a Senate, she had to push for things in a more democratic way, rather than just doing whatever she had wanted.

Her attention was then drawn to [member="Elaine Thul"] while she spoke, giving a short description of what had happened on Coruscant. It sounded like quite the undertaking, yet Kay was unaware of the Black Pyramid, having never gone to Coruscant herself. The frown Elaine gave told her enough about not getting any further into the story.

So it was back to business. "I'm fairly interested in the H.T.E. Armour Weave, as well as some of the grenades. Though I hope that we would never have to use them, much like all of our military equipment, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be prepared. However the armour weave could be more for myself, my Ministers and my Senators to use if they so choose."

 

[Elaine Thul]

She nodded her head at [member="Lady Kay"], and then she continued. I also offer training options, for security guards, close protection units as well as general purpose infantry. These units come trained and equipped, but would be loyal to their pay master, as you would be putting them forward for training. Though for some reason she did not understand, she had feeling that [member="Darben Skirae"] would be interested in a close protection units, the others she thought would be useful to them, but that one she thought would be particular useful. She took a sip of her tea, it was divine. It was so good it, almost broke her concentration. She then continued The CP units, I do need to do some vetting for first though. I also have my own standing forces, that act like a Private Military Contractor. She handed them a data pad, that where cost per day of campaign, for number of troops used, and death duties if some die. This can be done on a ad hoc bases, though some notice is required to get the mobilized. she then took another sip of tea, she was really hoping this meeting would drag out, so she could get another.

 

[Darben Skirae]

Skirae remained silent after asking his question. Half of his mind was currently elsewhere. Until [member="Lady Kay"] mentioned something about the possibility of the Ministers using the armor weave mentioned. He had never had armor, and never thought he would need to. Although with what happened to Mute, he was considering...

"Training..." He wondered if he would need any units for protection himself. One thing he knew, he could certainly use training himself, for self defense. That had proven to save his life, although he had believed himself to be lucky in that instance. [member="Elaine Thul"] seemed to know plenty herself about training, by how she spoke about combat herself. Darben skimmed over the pricing of the CP units she offered. A private military that could come to their aid, if needed. "These personal protection units...how effective are they?" he asked. Considering how much he was against violence, he was surprised himself that he was considering it at all.

 

[Elaine Thul]

The trade minster asked her, about the effectiveness of close protection unit. She then took another tea, and then answered him. ​Well we start with a veteran soldier, so they have combat experience to begin with, as well as training. Then we give them further training, for close quarter work, and some specialist diving skills, so they can get people out of danger. Though once your side have selected possible candidates, we do a background check on them. To make sure they are good character, as people with money trouble or gamble, or of low moral character, may become compromised, when protecting you. Then we give a physiological review, this mainly due to soldiers, due to nature job can become prone to mental illness. This may compromise their effectiveness when called upon, but any identified will be reported back to you, so you can give them help they need. Then an intelligence review, to make sure they up to learning new skills required. Now the training is centered around one thing, and one thing alone, that is the V.I.P. Their safety and no one else, this includes them. So if called upon, they are trained to take blaster shot for you. To figure out the best way, to get you out of danger, and that means spiking a terminal, so be it. She waited for further questions on this training she offers, or ether of the other two.

Kay sipped her tea, looking to [member="Darben Skirae"] as he inquired about personal protection units. Did he want his own bodyguards? Perhaps it was for him and Mute. Commenor had plenty available for him, all well trained and loyal to more than just credits.

She listened to [member="Elaine Thul"] as she spoke of her vetting and training processes. Although it all sounded good, Kay just had a bit of a problem with outsourcing guards to such high valued targets like members of her government.

"Minister Skirae, if you wish to have your own personal guards, I can have it arranged for you. We have plenty of good people that are highly trained and up to the task."

Elaine realized she missed something form her sales pitch, so she looked at [member="Lady Kay"] and quickly added The veterans would come your own military, I only offering training for them. I can't offer the same level training as an Housecarl, as their training is constant. As they are also military combat unit, which guard me in the field. They would be your own people, just going through a training scheme. So they would be loyal to you, and your government. As having your own personal in these roles are highly important. She was idiot, she forgot to mention that important bit in her initial sales pitch, she kick herself for it later.

Kay held up her hand to [member="Elaine Thul"], shaking her head a little. "Our head of Security, [member="Macoda Haberon"] already has a vetting and training process, not to mention our Minister of Justice [member="Darlyn Excron"] . I'd rather not step on their toes, if you don't mind."

She looked to [member="Darben Skirae"] and left the ultimate decision down to him. It was his choice in the end, afterall.

 

[Darben Skirae]

Darben thought about it. He had seen how Darlyn himself taught others first hand. If he could teach others...Darben knew he would trust those that he knew personally to train. He looked between [member="Lady Kay"] and [member="Elaine Thul"], then made his decision. "Perhaps Darlyn could help...No offense to you, Elaine, but I would rather someone I know...although others may have use for your training?" he asked, directing the question toward Kay in the end. He would need to get in contact with Darlyn some time later so that he could get some guards, only a few. He did not want there to be too many.

 

[Elaine Thul]

She looked at [member="Lady Kay"], and nodded her head. She then saw [member="Darben Skirae"] reaction, and listened to what he said. I have try and set up a meeting with them, at later date if possible. Are you able to discuss, the hiring my personal forces? If she could not, she would need to know who to talk too. Also if their was anything else they could authorize purchases off, otherwise apart form tea, which is worth dragging the meeting out for, their was not much more she could do here. As she did not want to go to far trying selling things, as that could put them off dealing with her.

Kay sipped her tea, nodding to [member="Darben Skirae"] 's answer. She turned her attention to [member="Elaine Thul"] once again. "You can speak with either of the two that I had mentioned, Mac and Minister Excron. They might have an interest as to what your training program entails and how it differs from their own."

Another sip of her tea as she regarded her own earlier statement when it came to purchases of what Elaine had to offer them. "As I said earlier, I'm interested in the grenades as well as some of that HTE Armour Weave for myself and other high valued targets. Although we have no enemies right now, that's not to say that it will always be that way."
