STANDARD FEATURES
The New Plympto-class features sensors, computers, and other technology analogous to other frigates and can be easily modified with software and new systems to keep it in line with the current technological standards of other governments and corporations.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Massive Ordnance: The New Plympto-class carries three enormous warheads designed to level hardened surface based targets or make runs on much larger, slower moving capital ships to devastating effect. The warheads bypass shielding, but are unguided and propelled only via a directed magnetic sheath with no other course correction.
Power Converter

Strengths:
  • BOOM!: The New Plympto-class’s explosives are capable of immense explosive potential to large capital ships and surface installations.
  • Power Converter: The vessel now includes Power Converters and a small reserve Power Generator, which allows it to boost one of their combat systems in battle, or assist with a rapid startup sequence.
Weaknesses:
  • Limited Weaponry: Being ordnance based, once it has used them, the ship would need to resupply to be effective in combat.
  • Unguided Weapons: Its ordnance is all unguided and non-self propelled, relying on delivery by the frigate.
  • Unassigned Energy: In combat, the reserve power must be assigned by the pilot or droid or it is not utilized or directed. This means when ambushed by enemy craft, the vessel is not able to perform at its full potential for a time.
  • One System at a Time: The freighter’s power converter can only direct its reserve power to a single combat system at a time, taking several seconds to stop the flow of energy to one system, redirect it, and begin the flow of energy to the next system.
DESCRIPTION
The New Plympto-class is the successor to the ancient Free Virgillia-class Bunkerbuster used by the Resistance during the Resistance-First Order War, designed to devastate hardened and defended ground installations, space stations, battlecruisers, and Star Dreadnoughts. Built by Corellian Engineering Corporation the New Plympto, sometimes referred to as the Hammerhead Heavy Bomber, follows its predecessor’s example by making heavy use of explosives as its primary armament.

The bridge of the vessel is mounted on the brow, with a large viewport between the reinforced pylons connecting its ordnance pods. The pods themselves are situated in the outer arms of the vessel, featuring dedicated power supplies, and two point defense lasers each to protect the craft from enemy starfighters. Along the spine of the vessel its two dual turbolaser turrets provide full firing lanes from all directions, mounted in fast-track turrets to protect against freighters and heavy starfighters. Its communication antenna are mounted on the dorsal ridge, while the bombardier’s station is on the opposite ventral bulge. Its engines, arrayed in two sets of six are situated on adjustable mountings, allowing the engine block to traverse and elevate somewhat.

Amidships, two ordnance racks sit exposed on the outside of the vessel holding the three primary explosives the New Plympto makes use of. These three explosives are shielded, with deactivated cores to prevent sympathetic detonation, until right before they are launched. Fitted with Field Disruptors to bypass shielding, the warheads are unguided and rely on propulsion provided by the magnetic sheath they are launched from. This means that they can be redirected or knocked off course and that they can only be launched at targets “beneath” the frigate. The load varies from nuclear explosives, heavy plasma bombs, massive baradium explosives, or enlarged EMP’s.

Like many modern designs the New Plympto has been fitted with a Power Converter which it uses to modulate the flow of power from its primary reactor to amplify its combat systems when desired. Using this system it is able to boost either its energy weapons, shields, or engines slightly while in combat. It takes the system a few short moments to stop the flow of energy to one system, redirect the powerflow, and re-enable the system once more so timing is everything.

Bypassing shielding with such heavy weaponry is a gameplay balance concern that is arguably passable. However, making a "super heavy nuclear explosive" that bypasses shielding makes looks like a superweapon to me. Please edit accordingly please.
