New Day, Not so New Problems

Hishamori awoke with a start as she shot up from her bed into an almost crazed frenzy only calming down once she realized she was in her own personal quarters aboard the Republic base. Plopping back down Hish breathed deeply in and out to calm her racing heart and to soothe her aching throat as it felt raw from probably all the screaming she had been doing. Another night terror Hish thought with some disdain. She hated having them, but there was nothing she could do to stop them.

It was for this reason Hishamori had been given her own personal quarters by her superiors, instead of being bunked with the rest of the troops, her night terrors had a tendency to rear their ugly heads a little too often for many people's liking. Which meant not many people who ended up sleeping in the same room as her got much sleep, as more often then not she tended to scream in these night terrors of hers.

Feeling like she had sufficiently calmed down, Hish glanced towards the clock she had on her nightstand the low lighted clock showing it was 4:00 hour in the morning. Hish honestly felt horrible and did not want to get up, but at the same couldn't bring herself to go back to sleep. The chances of her falling right back into the nightmare of her own mind was pretty high, and she honestly didn't want to remember whatever her mind decided to dredge up from the depths.

With some reluctance Hishamori slid herself up and got up from bed, and went over to where her uniform lay on her dresser grabbing it as she continued her way into the refresher to at least get cleaned up before putting on the uniform.

A few moments later a fully dressed and looking somewhat actually refreshed, if you ignored the bags under her eyes. Hish made her way out of her quarters and towards the cafeteria to hopefully get something to eat, and also find out who else was up this early in the morning.

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my first introduction thread to my character Hishamori. Now I'll be honest i spent better part of an hour trying to figure out how to write this, or what Hish would honestly be doing. I decided on this subject as it almost fits perfectly with the title "New Day, Not so New Problems" for Hish the night terrors are a constant issue she's had for quite some time.

Now I'd like to also mention that I've not really rped for quite some time, so please forgive me for being rusty and thank you for joining my thread. Now while the thread does say public as you can see Hishamori is on the new republic base. So sadly Sith and other factions that are not on good terms with the Republic can't really pop up on this thread even though it is public. However if you have a character that is part of a faction that is allied or at least friendly with the New republic then you can join in and learn more about my character in this thread.

This thread is also me testing the waters a bit, as i'm still unsure how exactly to play this character of mine, for now i'm just going to do my best to stick with what I've written into her profile and go from there. I look forwards to rping with you guys and having loads of fun! :D

"Come on, hit me," Toni taunted.

The larger brute of a man swung at Toni, she easily side stepped the strike, landing a sold jab on his lower ribs. The crowd watching laughed as he winced.

"Quit playing at actually try," Toni commanded forcefully.

He gave a second swing, aiming at her head again. Toni swatted it away easily with a block, landing a jab on his chin, "If you screw like you fight, no wonder your girlfriend dumped you for that Trandoshan."

The surrounding soldiers let out a combination of shouts, laughs, and jeers. The soldier sparring with Toni angrily threw a wild hook at the much smaller dancer. She easily ducked under the blow, coming up with an uppercut that landed squarely on his jaw. He stumbled back a half step, giving a volley of uncontrolled swings at her. Toni blocked each on the flat of her forearms before headbutting him. Her forehead landed squarely on his nose, she felt it crunching under her blow. He sprawled back, hands on his broken nose howling in pain.

"Let Jak here be a lesson to all of you," Toni said smearing his blood mixed with her sweat across her forehead. "Losing control is never the answer. It cost him the fight and now its costing him a fixed nose. No matter what the enemy does, never lose control. If you don't have control of yourself, the enemy does. That doesn't just apply to the angry tactics here. The Force takes advantage of you if you aren't totally aware and completely in control. Don't be like this damn sack of crap. Its probably the real reason why his girl left him. Makes sense? Good. Go run some laps now. And someone scrape this worthless piece of crap off my mat."

The soldiers moved to follow the small woman's orders and she stepped away from the scene to the water bench. The gym lights made the sweat sheening off her body in this morning almost glisten with a gritty glow. She was a hard working woman, for her nothing was quite as satisfying as the feeling of a layer of sweat on your body--except the feeling of a full bank account. Both brought the gunslinger here. She didn't typically train soldiers, but there was an opening and the money was good. She was dressed in simple Gym attire; short black track shorts that left little to the imagination, and a dark grey tank top that clung to her body tightly thanks to the heavy exertion of kicking butt. Toni dragged a white towel across her face, staining it with the blood of her sparing partner and her sweat. Sometimes training was her favorite job to do.

Hishamori had only been passing by the gym when she had seen the whole fight take place. Though to be fair it wasn't much of a fight, as more like a total humiliation the soldier Jak had made an almost complete and utter fool of himself and Hishamori had to stop herself from sighing aloud and rubbing her temples from what had she just seen. On the bright side hopefully the soldier would learn and not make the same mistake in the field. Since it very well could cost him his life.

Shaking herself from that train of thought Hishamori decided she'd might as well as pop in say hello to the trainer that was in. The woman didn't look familiar to Hish, but to be fair Hish didn't know everyone let alone had met everyone on the base so this was probably good chance to at least get to know some one.

Approaching the woman Hishamori felt some both amused and impressed with the short stature woman. Taking a guy who was almost good head or two taller than you and winning was always impressive in Hish's book.

"Impressive job. I hope Jak takes the lesson you gave him to heart." Hish said with a small smile on her face, though her tone of voice was quite dull. Hish ignored the whispering from her fellow soldiers as they noticed her come in and approach the trainer. She could already feel the slight annoyance of having to deal with the insanity that was the barracks rumor mill. No matter where you are or live, there's always the gossip train Hish thought with some exasperation.

Welcome :D

"I doubt it," Toni said tossing her towel back onto the weight bench without looking. She grabbed a bottle off the water rack, her eyes not even giving her visitor a glance. "Dikes like him rarely change, they go through their whole lives thinking every problem is one they can rage out of."

She unscrewed the cap of her water bottle and took a swig, the cool liquid streamed down her throat in unlady-like gulps. She drained it in one pass before tossing the bottle into the trash. Her steely eyes looked at her visitor for the first time as the troops made their first lap around the gym, passing between and around them. Toni didn't even move. If they ran into her, they were asking for trouble.

"Its not my problem anyway," she said, "I just have to teach these farm boys how to hold a gun and swing a vibroblade at the throat without completely pissing themselves. Then I get my pay check and get the hell out of Dodge."

Her eyes flicked over Hishamori as Toni adjusted the Velcro straps on her wrapped knuckles, the last of the soldiers passed by them. "So you here to get your early morning training in, or are you just here to be another waste of oxygen and water in my gym?"

Hish chuckled a tiny bit at the comment A mercenary? Well makes sense really, if you want to pay someone to train a bunch of farm boys, best use a mercenary. Hish thought while tumbling the idea around in her head of training, a good work out might help with taking the edge off the night terror she had this morning. Finally Hishamori shrugged and took off the dress shirt part of the uniform revealing the white tank top underneath. "I have nothing better to do" Hish simply replied before doing her normal morning stretches.

"So you possibly up to spar?" Hish asked after she finished her stretches, to a point she wanted to see how well she did against the probably more experienced mercenary. On the other hand Hish just really wanted punch something as the stupid looks she was getting from the other soldiers were really starting to piss her off. Problem was she couldn't just go up and throttle the idiots as tempting as it was. The fact they probably would put up a horrible fight against her was another reason she'd rather fight the mercenary, better to fight someone who was actually a good fighter and maybe get your ass kicked and learn something. Then to fight some recruit that you could probably knock out with one punch.

Toni eyed the trainees doing their laps. They still had time before they were done. She flexed both her hands, giving them a feel for the way her body felt. So far she had only kicked one butt, at least only one she counted. The day was young and she felt she could do it.

"I'm the only person in the ring who won't accidentally off themselves with a wayward punch until the next trainers get in from the mud drills," Toni said sourly, "So, yeah, I guess I am, show me what you got."

The mercenary stepped into the ring, giving the other woman a chance to set herself up and all that, she was a mercenary but Toni still believed in a modicum of decency in her fighting. She had trained in a variety of styles in her days on the Commenori special forces from Tera Kasa to the subtle and crafty Unbarian melee to the completely utilitarian ways of the Mandalorians. Still, she preferred to start with a basic shockboxer's stance. Arms extended she took a few steps to close the distance between her and Hishamori. Her dark brown eyes pierced ahead, locking on her opponents.

"Name's Toni Nova," she gave a quick jab, just to gauge her opponent's reflexes at first.

Hishamori appreciated the effort the mercenary gave her to let her settle into a basic fighting stance. Though Hish was never much into the whole fancy fighting styles and forms, she could see the logic and usefulness of them and so did use them, but not in the traditional way, more she adapted what she could pull off and actually use effectively into a form unique to her alone. Which in turned allowed Hish to fully utilize her greatest strength, which was quite literally her strength and durability, Hish could for the most part always outlast her opponents either from the fact she could actually take a punch or knew when to actually move out of the way.

"I'm Hishamori Hashama" Hish replied while letting the jab hit before grabbing hold of Toni's arm and lashing out with a hard kick towards her lower legs. "It's nice to make your acquaintance." Hish said as she held onto Toni's arm and attempted a shoulder bash into the woman while using her grip on her arm to pull her in for it. Hish was very good at grapples not many people realized just how strong or tough she was before it was too late in most cases, Hish figured that she'd probably only get one real chance to land a good hit before Toni would probably not allow herself to be grappled again.

Money was Money.

As much as she was reluctant to return to any kind of Military activity, The NR were paying out a hefty lump sum for her skills. So she'd come down, and had look. That amount was enough to keep her flying for about six months.

Her own cohort of Marines had just returned from the field, entering the compound through the side doors, and gone right to the mud room to spray off all their gear. Seeing as how she wasn't technically enlisted anymore, she went and grabbed a bottle of whiskey and cigar. The whiskey went down real smooth, and she carried the glass and bottle with her.

She wondered what Toni was up to.

She soon found out as she entered the gym and stepped up to the ring. She set the glass and bottle on a nearby table and fire up the cigar. Then she took to watching as the two sparred.

Reminded her of basic in the Naboo Royal Marines.

She took a puff and then looked at Hishamori.

"Grapples are ok kid, but not as good when there's a weapon involved."

She pulled a training blaster from the edge of the table and slid it across the deck, just to see what difference it made....

Toni didn't stand a chance in a brute strength fight. She easily leapt over the kick to her lower legs, but had to take the shoulder bash straight on her chest. The blow hit her hard, and having just jumped, she didn't have her feet firmly on the ground. The mercenary wrapped her other free arm around Hish as she went backwards, since the woman was already shoulder-deep in her cleavage. Toni had trained as a dancer and gymnast long before she had ever started with fighting. That was her true love and passion before killing, they taught you how to fall in that.

She rolled across her back, letting the momentum carry them both forward. She bucked with her hips as the momentum reached its zenith, if it worked she would be able to clear Hishamori onto the mat with her. If not, there could be more trouble.

"Don't make that decision just yet," Toni said rising to her feet in a low crouch. Her hands were extended in front of her in a wrestler's stance. Her eyes caught a glimpse of the training pistol on the edge of the mat that one of the other freelancers working the base had tossed in. "That's right. You grapple in a knife fight or with a blaster pistol in their hands, your asking to die or get a tit sliced off."
