New contracts, and fresh starts

Ice was at his desk when an interesting message came to his comm. Apparently Suvian Sciences wanted Shadow Tech Industries to develop a specialized set of armor. He wondered why Suvian Sciences didn't just develop it themselves. But when he saw what they were willing to spend to have the suit developed, he found himself lacking further questions. At least until the "person's" name who was requesting the project came up.

He frowned for a moment. Why did that name sound familiar? He pulled up his datapad and started doing some research. "Ah yes...Jeff Solaris..." He smirked as he looked over the information. "You are a bold one to go parading around in the open. Still. If you are willing to part with this many credits. I can work with you." Ice mumbled to himself. His mind then began to work different angles.

"Course then again...what if there is more than one contract that could be had out of this most interesting situation." He thought for a few more minutes, and then worked up a message.

"Mr. Solaris.

I want to thank you for thinking of Shadow Tech Industries in regards to your new armor. On behand of STI, we would be delighted to develop and create this piece for you. Please accept our invitation for you to come on down to Eclipstica. We can discuss the details further. I also may have another offer that could benefit both our companies. Till we meet, have a great day.

Respectfully,

Ice

CEO of Shadow Tech Industries"

All that he could do now, was wait...

Soon enough Jeff would indeed arrive, but this time he was not alone. Given that he expected Gordosa to likely track his whereabouts he was accompanied by 12 AFU Droids, and 2 CQC Expert Droids as well as a couple of Annihilators. Really he needed to upgrade the Annihilators and all his droids really, but that was something that would come soon enough. Two EE Droids were also with him of the MK II variety and both had all of their hands full, because they were carrying a particular droid. Namely a spare copy of his body. The bounty from Gordosa was a pain in his rear servo motors because the guy was an idiot for placing it to begin with.

Jeff then approached Ice when he landed, and arrived. The droids were following him.

"Hello Ice."

Ice gave a respectful bow to the sentient droid before him, but then raised an eyebrow as he looked over his shoulder to the rather large escort behind him. "Good afternoon Mr Solaris. And welcome to Shadow Tech Industries. I'm afraid I won't be able to allow your escort onto the premises. Security reasons. I'm sure you understand as you possess your own tech company. They are however, welcome to stay here at the dock."

He paused a moment to allow Jeff time to comply. When he had, Ice gestured for him to follow. "Please. This way."

Ice led Jeff through the STI facility until they came to his office. Taking a seat behind his desk, he gestured for Jeff to take a seat as well.

"Now then. I have a proposal I would like to make to you. But first, you are hear about a new suit of armor yes? Please, enlighten me on what it is you are looking for. And we'll go from there."

"Well, earlier in my life I found a Mandalorian infant in the desert of Tatooine. Been raising him ever since. Thought armor might be useful for him because he will need it. With all the Forcers out there going crazy, fighting each other...some even capable of Alchemy or other varieties of matter manipulation it just makes sense that he be prepared. While he can use the Force some, he's not fully trained. So he'll need protection." Jeff sighed because he had to leave his security behind, and so he sent them a wireless command to board his ship. "I'd prefer if some sort of lightsaber resistant material, possibly Wintrium, Arcetron, Cortosis or Phrik or Beskar was used in the armor for him."

Ice nodded. He already had a few ideas going through his head on how he would make this armor. Though, he'd still need a few more details. "Ok, so far, I see no reason why we couldn't handle that. In fact, I have a few ideas you might find very intruiging. But first. What type of armor are you looking for? Are we looking at a light armor? Something easy to move around in and sneak, but can't take as much punishment. Are we looking at a medium or heavy armor? Something than restricts mobility a bit, but can take a great deal more hits before failing? Or are you looking for more a power suit type armor? These armors are the very best in protection."

"They can take massive amounts of damage and leave the wearer snug as a bug. They also have the ability to have other pieces of tech built into them. However, they are also the most restrictive for movement. As well as they don't allow for being nearly as sneaky as a lighter armors might allow."

He pondered what this person got himself into on a regular basis that lightsaber resistant materials would be requested. But then, that wasn't really his business. So long as the credits originally promised were being paid out, and it didn't negatively affect the SE, he didn't care.

"Upon considering the various options, powered armor would likely be the best suited for him. Due to him preferring less subtle methods of dealing with opponents, powered armor would be logically the best. So do you have any suggestions about what material should be used in the construction of the powered armor? I know we'll try to build in a blaster with stun/kill settings or a flight stabilizer that could be weaponized into the palms of the hands of the suit. What else could we give it though? The armor's something that will have to be perfect. "

Jeff did not want his 'son' to be at risk.

"Sneakiness is not a required trait of the armor. We will try to weaponize it though."

Viper gave a nod in understanding. "Power armor it is. As for materials. There are many that could work, such as ones you mentioned. Phrik, Cortosis, Beskar, Ultrachrome. But those are all rather rare, and very expensive. Durasteel is a standard armor, or even Arcetron. But those two will not hold up very well against a lightsaber. Tell you what. Let me make a couple designs, and we can start hammering out the finer details later." As he finished with that, he reached into his desk and pulled out some paper work and slid it across the desk to Jeff. "Here you go. I'll just need you to sign this contract showing you are agreeing to have STI design and build your prototype armor. I have already signed my portion which shows STI has accepted your 2 million credit contract proposal for the R & D into your suit."

While Jeff went to work finalizing the agreement, Ice tapped his fingers on the desk a few times as be thought of how he wanted to approach the next topic. "Mr. Solaris. I'd also like to bring back up the other offer I wished to discuss." As his name was now on the contract, he reached out to retrieve it in a casual manner. "It has come to our attention. That you actually have quite the bounty on your head." He immediately held up his hand to try and stop him from speaking or freaking out.

"Your secret is safe with me, I assure you. Actually I wanted to offer you my help. See when I looked into who you were, and found this little tidbit. I began thinking of how I might get out of the situation if I were you. And then it hit me. You have a unique ability us organics do not possess. You can simply have your essence of who you are transferred into a new body. What I wish to propose, is that in addition to this armor. I'd like to set up a second contract to make you a new body. STI would transfer a copy of your memory core to the new droid. The old memory core would be left in the old body, as well as new programming installed to make the old body a glorified vacuum."

"At that point, we would turn over your old body to the Hutt, collect the bounty, and you sir would have a brand new fresh start. With no death marks looming over your head. You would need to change your name unfortunately. Think of it like the witness protection program. Essentially, I would assume, you would also transfer ownership of your company to this "new" person to complete the ruse. What do you think of this?"

He sat back into his char and stared at his guest.

"A brilliantly simple way to solve my Gordosa problem. I will of course need to arrange for him to have an untimely accident under my new identity because I doubt any Suvian employee would want the death of their CEO hanging over their head." Jeff paused for a moment and considered it. A new name to go with the new body would indeed be needed. But what new name could he adopt? Wait. He had it. Warren. But as for last names, he was clueless in that regard. Jeff then looked it, and signed the contract. "Your idea does seem like a good proposal. I've already figured out part of my new identity, Warren will be my first name. Granted, I will need a last name. While I thought about using Solaris, it would be a dead give away that I am still me, and alive and kicking.

Wait, I've just figured it out. Warren Century sounds like a good name. Of course legal papers and stuff will need to be made that show Jeff knew the guy, and passed controlling interest in his company to the individual. We'll also need arrangements so Gordosa has an incident of the lethal kind. Knowing him, he might try to attack Suvian Sciences itself and kill every employee. Which is something I would very much not like to happen.

Therefore the logical action would be to complete the transference, immediately after you finish the body. We'll need to really sell Jeff's death. Hmm. Any suggestions on what should be told to the Suvian employees when they realize 'Jeff' is dead?"

"Honestly, I don't think you need to tell them anything but the "truth". Tell them Jeff was captured by a Bounty Hunter and taken to the Hutt. Might be a bit of a scandal. But at least then it would be a better sell to the Hutt. And technically it is true. We just don't tell them, we are sending a copy of you to the hutt." He said with a small smile and a shrug before continuing.

"I also don't think Gordosa would go after Suvian Science employees. There would be no point. The company never did anything to aggravate him, nor did any of the employees. Or...have I missed something? Besides, he has the potential of being a very good client of ours. So while we are willing to help you get out of this mess, we can't help you to actually kill him. Nor would we have a desire to do so. It's just not good business."

Pausing a minute to take a breath, he thought on the second project that was Jeff's new body. "Now then, back to the new body. We can build you a new body to just about any specs you give us. But what were you going to be willing to spend on this? I mean, you are already signing a two million dollar R & D project for the suit. I just want to make sure you are aware of this before we think to grand."

He pulled over a glass of water he had nearby and took a sip as he waited.

@Jeff Solaris

"I've already got the specs in my head. We will of course need to upgrade the body so it uses a more powerful processor and memory core than my present one does. As for the Hutt, you're right. Killing him too soon would be bad. I'll let him have a few years, until he completely forgets about my existence, and then prepare him to die." As Jeff said this he looked over at Ice. "So Ice, here are the specs for my new body."

A file would be sent to any terminal in the room so that the information could be viewed, and used. The body would cost roughly 50 grand to produce, but was not the most advanced body out there in terms of the defensive systems it had. This was because in order to cut costs, Jeff had removed a lot of the weapons systems he had wanted to install in his new shell. Jeff paused for a moment.

"From now on, you can call me Warren Century. I'll have to come up with a history and what not for my new identity. This should be an interesting experience for me anyway, crafting a new identity. "

"Hmm. You already have the schematics? Thinking about doing this body switch already were you?" He said rhetorically with a light chuckle. Ice's fingers began to slide over the console screen that was built into his desk. They were soon a whirlwind of activity as he quickly perused through the specs to see what Je--, Warren, had in mind. "Well it may cost 50,000 credits to build, but we have to make a profit to Mr. Century." He said with a smirk. "Normally I would charge, 75,000 credits for this build...however, as you have already signed on a large project with us. I'll go ahead and do the build for 60,000 as a thank you for your business. I trust that is acceptable?"

With that he moved the schematics aside and brought up a new contract. Quickly filling in the details, he sent the file over to Warren, for his signature.

[member="Warren Century"]

Immediately the contract was reviewed by Warren and after completely reviewing the contract down to even details other people would ignore, Warren simply signed the contract. Finally with everything signed and initialed, Warren looked at Ice. "If this concludes our business I must now go outside and load the droids into my ship so they may be taken and melted down. It is time to create newer models of each one. After all one can never have too much to do inventing wise. Plus it will give me an excuse to get creative again. So Ice, do you have any droid concepts you want to see Suvian produce in the near future or not?"
