Affiliation: Naboo, Galactic Alliance, Theed Hangar, select customers
Manufacturer: Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps
Model: Jamillia-class Star Cruiser
Modularity: No
Production: Limited
Material: Durasteel hull, transparisteel viewports

Classification: Strategic Intelligence Cruiser

Length: 980m
Width: 280m
Height: 160m

Armament: 4
  • 20 x Theed Hangar RASP multipurpose probe launcher (counts as basic warhead launcher)
  • 60 x quad laser cannons
  • 60 x flak cannons
  • 60 x antimissile octets
  • 60 x point-defense lasers

Defenses: 13

Hangar:
  • 2 squadrons Lucerne Labs LL-1400 scoutships (12 vessels)
  • 2 squadrons Soruna-class Naboo Starfighter (24 vessels)
  • 2 squadrons S-3 Scout Fighter (32 vessels, or 8 flights of 4) -Note that the S-3 is primarily a deployment platform for INCIS, EXPARC, SUREC, and SIARC probes. Additionally, when operating from the (limited production) Jamilia, the S-3 can carry the (limited production) Kal’ika probe.

Special Features:

Theed Hangar RASP multipurpose probe launchers are loaded with a variety of probes, including the SIARC, INCIS, EXPARC, SUREC, and Kal’ika models. The ship stocks these probes in large numbers.
  • The Strategic Intrasystem Active Reconnaissance (SIARC) probe obtains comprehensive scans of enemy forces and areas of heavy cover, such as dense nebular regions. Its secondary mission profile is advance warning through hyperspace traffic detection.
  • The Interdiction and Customs Inspection (INCIS) probe obtains in-depth short-range scans of unknown vessels. Its secondary mission profile is tactical interdiction via a miniaturized pulse-mass generator.
  • The Extended Prospecting and Atmospheric Reconnaissance (EXPARC) probe scans astronomical bodies and phenomena for in-demand raw materials and lifesigns.
  • The Superluminal Reconnaissance (SUREC) multirole probe is hyperspace-capable. The SUREC probe is suitable for prospecting, exploration, strategic or tactical missions.
  • The Clan Rekali Kal'ika-class Recon Probe is hyperspace-capable. The Kal’ika is suitable for strategic and tactical scouting. It is undetectable if used properly.
  • The RASP launcher is also capable of deploying the unique Ballistic Anti-Radiation Capsule Scanprobe (BARCS) with a disposable thruster unit.

Other components of note:
  • Olie AGS Navicomputer, permitting precise hyperspace maneuvers for strategic repositioning.
  • Nass-type Towed Sensor Array, permitting comprehensive scanning to a range of four light-hours (just under 30 AU); outfitted with crystal gravfield traps.
  • High-resolution multi-spectrum passive and active sensor antennas, including numerous dedicated energy receptors. Dozens or hundreds of metres in length, these antennas are vastly larger and more exposed than the sensors mounted on any other capital ship, with commensurate vulnerabilities.
  • Upgraded Ranger transceiver, permitting comprehensive subspace monitoring within 100 light-years.
  • 2 x gravity well projectors
  • Tra’palon Active Mapping Array, a specialized gravitic sensor suite for detecting and influencing possible routes, gravimetric disturbances, etc.

Maneuverability Rating: 16 (20 in atmosphere)
Speed Rating: 16
Hyperdrive Class: 1, backup 8, range 120,000ly (enough to get from Naboo to the Core and back without refuelling)

Strengths:
  • Strategic probes for sector-scale overwatch capability, if used properly.
  • Extremely good sensors.
  • Large (120,000ly) gas tank and an excellent navicomputer, for precise strategic repositioning.
  • Advanced computer systems allow it to process vast amounts of sensor data and probe telemetry, then distribute the information to allied vessels as needed.
Weaknesses:
  • Long, high-sensitivity sensor pylons and towed array are highly vulnerable to enemy fire and to wind shear. Even aggressive maneuvering in atmosphere may damage the pylons and rip the array loose.
  • Very low armament, none of it meant for use against capital ships.
  • Quite slow.

Description: The Jamillia-class Star Cruiser’s primary roles are sector- and system-level strategic oversight. The Jamilia is a powerful sensor platform, with numerous high-resolution transceivers. It is capable of deploying multiple types and ranges of reconnaissance and survey probe, using twenty multibarrel launchers and thirty-two specialized scout fighters. These probes have capabilities including tactical interdiction, hyperspace monitoring, and covert reconnaissance. The Jamillia also carries a towed sensor array, as well as a dozen scout ships with powerful sensor suites and deployable sensor beacons. Primary and backup hyperdrives, a long-range fuel supply, and an exceptional navicomputer permit the Jamillia a high degree of sector-level maneuverability.

However, the Jamilia’s profound strategic capabilities come at a cost. Its defenses are middling, its armament is minimal, its engines are unimpressive, and its sensor equipment makes for any number of large, obvious, vulnerable targets. Its hangar is dominated by poorly-armed scout ships. In a combat situation, it can deploy two squadrons of respectable starfighters and hold off a decent amount of small craft, but those are not strengths so much as factors which mitigate the vessel’s weaknesses. This is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a front-line combat vessel. Frankly, it doesn’t even belong in a fleet formation.

The class is named after the ancient Queen Jamillia of Naboo, a one-term ruler who took an unpopular but principled stand in favor of refugees. The name connotes refuge and maternal benevolence.

Intent: A support cruiser suitable for the kind of fleeting that takes place on a system- or sector-scale map rather than in a small region of space.
