The courtyard of the Shadow Academy was empty. The tall columns surrounding it, and supporting the Temple Proper cast long shadows across its length, providing shade for the few bird like creatures nesting there. Stationed at the stairs leading up from the valley, several Kaleesh Shadow Guard, wearing pitch black armor, and armed with pikes stood silent sentinel over their charge. It was quite, peaceful.
Such a thing annoyed Corin Zanith greatly.
He stood at the entrance to the Academy, the huge doors set into the mountain closed behind him. Engraved on their surface, the sigil he had chosen for the Shadow Academy, as well as his...other endeavor. Descending from orbit, a single shuttle made its final approach towards the courtyard.
It touched down, and the ramp descended, twin pillars of steam shooting off. First off the ramp where two more Shadow Guard, who quickly took up positions on either side of the ramp, their pikes clicking to the ground in unison. Next, hesitantly several other figures began to descend down the ramp. Most were teenagers, a few were children. Some male, some female. In total, there was barely more than a dozen in total. Hardly enough to fill the Academy, but they were the first. As the steam finally cleared, Corin was able to properly see them, and what he saw made him smile.
They were all Human.
"Welcome to the Shadow Academy. You all have been chosen from worlds across the sector, and brought here. Most of you are street scum, living off whatever you could find from day to day. Others, runaways who left their home. A few, criminals. Whatever your past, that not longer matters. From this moment forward, you are Initiates. You have been brought to the Academy due to your connection to the Force. Here, you shall be trained in its mysteries. Here, you shall be trained to master it. Here, you shall be taught how to fight, and survive. And for those of you who survive, you will have the chance to become Sith."
The Initiates looked between each other hesitantly, still nervous. He understood that, but he had little patience or care to alleviate it at this time. He turned to one of the Shadow Guards, telling him to take them to their assigned quarters. As they were led away, Corin turned to watch as the shuttle took off once more, heading back into orbit.
He remained where he stood a few moments, before turning on his heels. He briefly waved his hand before him, and the huge doors to the Academy slowly opened. He entered into the darkness within, before the doors slammed shut once more.
