Neuronic Whip

Status
Not open for further replies.
Image Source: Image found in Lord of Nal Hutta source book for Edge of the Empire and on this website: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Neuronic_whip .

Intent: Tool/Weapon of Slavery that becomes a personal item for Jarven Zexxel (being the only weapon he currently has and representing a "trophy" of the one who dishonored him)
Development Thread: (Still not sure, even after reading Factory 101, how this works, but here goes) Readily available in the grittier parts of Star Wars.
Manufacturer: TholCorp.
Affiliation: Slavery
Modularity: You can do very little with this weapon to mod it. You might be able to sharpen the end of it, but that's about the scope of it's modularity.
Production: Minor.
Material: Durasteel handle and a long, heavy, flexible cable (The one in the Nal Hutta book looks much cooler)
Classification: Whip/Exotic Melee Weapon
Size: One handed
Length: 11/2 meter (I don't know exactly, but does that seem fair? I'm only supposed to have enough reach to be able to attack at a short range, instead of the usual melee engaged range, and it has to be able to wrap around people enough to be able to yank them.)
Weight: 1kg?
Special Features: Is connected to a battery, so it can deliver a powerful electrical shock.
Description: "Used by slavers across the galaxy to keep "merchandise" in line, the Neuronic Whip is a terrible weapon banned on many worlds. A powerful electrical charge runs the length of this cruel wire whip, discharging when it strikes its target and sending a painful impulses racing through its victim's nerve cells. The whip emits an ominous, low humming sound when charged, exploding like the crack of a gunshot when it comes into contact with its unfortunate target. Can be used at short range as well as engaged range." -Lords of Nal Hutta,Melee Weapons, page 104
"Unlike a typical leather whip, the heavy cable could crack bones and break flesh, although death was an extremely unlikely outcome. It was capable of causing a great deal of pain and trauma." -Wookiepedia, Neuronic Whip
Normal Cost: 750 credits.
Availability: Not restricted on unbanned worlds.

Please follow the template given in the Technology Factory for melee weapons.

Image Source: (Please link to where you found the image, or to the original artist if possible. TinEye or Google Image Search can help.)
Intent: (Example: 'A personal weapon for Darth Scabious' or 'an advanced armored personnel carrier for the Republic')
Development Thread: (The main way people work for their toys, though most submissions don't require a development thread. Restricted items require specific development threads. Substantial development threads can help judges approve more powerful submissions. If in doubt, put 'If necessary,' and a judge may or may not ask you for one. Threads cited here must be at least 10 quality posts.)
Manufacturer: (Kuat Drive Yards, BlasTech Industries, [Character Name], etc.)
Model: (Example: E-11 Blaster Rifle. For submissions where a model wouldn't be appropriate, such as a custom walking stick, put 'N/A' for 'Not Applicable'.)
Affiliation: (Example: The E-11 Blaster Rifle was produced for the Galactic Empire and used almost exclusively by Imperial Stormtroopers. Do not put the company unless the product is only for your company's use. Common choices include 'Open market' or the name of a specific faction.)
Modularity: (Can components of this submission be swapped out for other components? Is it especially easy to modify? For most submissions, put 'No'.)
Production: (The scale is Unique, Semi-Unique, Limited, Minor, Mass-Produced. More powerful submissions are more likely to be approved the fewer of them there are. There are no numbers associated with these.)
Material: (What is it made out of? Certain materials are more resistant, or vulnerable, to certain weapons. Example: 'Durasteel, blaster components.')
Classification: (Dagger, Sword, Whip, etc.)
Size: (One-handed, Two-handed, etc.)
Length: (Via Metric System)
Weight: (Via Metric System. Note that most swords are 2-4kg.)
Special Features: (Is it resistant to certain weapons? Is it telescopic? Even if you've discussed your features at length in the Description line of the Base Template, this is a good place to list them.)
Description: (Include some strengths and weaknesses here. Describe some of the history behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.)
Primary Source: (Please link the source of another writer's submission that you are modifying for your use; only necessary for "Chaos Canon" submissions)

As there is no change from the canon Neuronic whip to this one, this is marked as denied. You need not submit canon items to the factory for approval, as all canon items do not require submissions. If you believe this has been done in error or unfairly judged, you may submit a second chance in our second chance thread in the factory discussion.
