SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Plugs into most navigational systems via circular ports
  • Opaque Hardlight interactive Starmap projector
  • Charts a path through the Nether based on user's desire.
STRENGTHS
  • Netheric Astrogation - Netheric Wayfinders were each infused with a soul taken from the Netherworld of the Force. Once a ship entered the Netherworld, the navigator would select a planet by removing a Bronzium "Nav-plate" and place them over a world on the Starmap. The navigator and "Wayfinder-spirit" would briefly merge consciousness and their shared desire to escape the Nether would chart an instinctual course to the selected destination, similar to Instinctive astrogation.
WEAKNESSES
  • Netheric Will - In order to meld consciousness with a Wayfinder-spirit, the Navigator must overpower the spirit's will, lest it chart the quickest way out of the Netherworld long before reaching the Navigator's destination. It was a constant battle to remain in control, and a draining experience that required careful training and Battle Meditation to safely perform.
  • Realspace - The purpose of a Netheric Wayfinder to navigate within, and out of, the Netherworld of the force. Thus it was useless within Realspace, nor possessed any ability to enter, exit or even observably map the Netherworld itself. It was merely a navigational tool, useless by itself.
DESCRIPTION
A small pyramid made from panes of carved Havod Crystals and Bronzium fittings, dotted with intricate runes and constellations carefully engraved into it's surface. It is distinctly Sith in origin, and whispers tales of death experienced by the one trapped inside.

Netheric Wayfinders were an invention of Darth Anathemous, who took an interest in the Netherworld during the Sundering Dawn crisis.

It was a product of costly experiments on Dathomir which resulted in the deaths of many artisans and alchemists in her service, but the end result was success enough for the Enchantress;

A device which contained the bound soul ripped from the foulest corners of the Netherworld. Having witnessed these souls for herself and heard their desperate whispers and bargains to escape the Netherworld, she reasoned they would do anything to escape if given the means. She and the House of Iron were thus able to navigate the Netherworld by following it's fear driven trail. "Netheric Navigators" were specially trained to overpower and these spirits and meld with their consciousness, using the spirit's frightened instincts or knowledge to steer them and chart a course through the Netherworld, or at least, a way back out. Plugged into the navigational systems of a starship, the wayfinder could have been a great boon.

These were, however, useless without a means to enter and exit the Netherworld to begin with.

Merely one piece in a grand scheme, created in preparation for the Great Hunt.
