The Sith Code

OVERVIEW:
Once a Padawan of the Jedi Order, Neriah Calven was captured during a skirmish and taken to the Desevro Academy, where she was forced into the ranks of the Sith Covenant as an unwilling acolyte, after barely being able to put up a fight. Combat did not come easily to her, nor did the Force in her moments of panic. More of a scholar than warrior, Neriah is not suited to the brutal competition of her peers, being a sore thumb that sticks out for all the wrong reasons. Yet her sharp mind and insatiable curiosity mark her as valuable, someone that could potentially be moulded and formed into something more than a simple fighter. It is just a matter of what will win out. The darkness that is surrounding her, or the small amount of hope that is still in her heart.
PERSONALITY:
Quiet, studious, and easily unsettled by conflict, Neriah is a girl caught between two worlds. She clings to the ideals of the Jedi as a lifeline, as a sign of hope that she could be rescued but her mind betrays her, she cannot help but wonder about the secrets the Covenant dangles before her. Could she truly get strength from the Darkness? Could she conquer the fear that is with her in every waking moment? At heart, she is compassionate and cautious, but curiosity is her greatest flaw. She is a bountiful fountain of emotions, not all of them being positive. Fear, sorrow, terror. They all hold a deep spot in Neriah's heart. It is not rare to find her off in some stray corner, crying to herself. She knows that they're weaknesses. Things for her fellow Acolytes to pick on. But she can't help the loneliness and hole in her heart. There is also a deep shame Neriah carries, for something that happened when she was captured. Something she would not tell anyone.

STRENGTHS:
- Gifted scholar with a keen memory and analytical mind.
- Quick to learn languages, history, and Force theory.
- Compassionate nature allows her to connect with others, even rivals.
- Willowy frame grants her a subtle agility, though she rarely relies on it.

WEAKNESSES:
- Poor duelist, lacking the martial focus of her peers.
- Nervous and hesitant under pressure.
- Longing for "home" makes her vulnerable to manipulation.
- Curiosity often overrides caution, especially with forbidden lore.
- Overly emotional. Makes her even easier to manipulate
BACKGROUND:
Neriah Calven's path to the Jedi was never one of combat glory. Whilst she expected to never be able to rise through the ranks, she was surprised to be picked as a Padawan for her sharp intellect and eagerness to learn,. It all made sense to her however when she realised she was being trained for the role of historian, a future archivist of the Order's ancient knowledge but rich history. Her lightsaber training lagged behind, often leaving her feeling inadequate next to her peers. Yet her master never scolded her for it. Instead he pushed her supportively to get better what she could do. She may be inadequate in the physical, but she could excel in the Force.
During a routine day of her studies, Neriah and her Master came across a handful of members of the Dark Covenant. Her master leapt straight into the fight to protect Neriah, ordering her to go and find some manner of help, but she found her legs could not move. The fear that had set in had frozen her to the spot. She could not move a muscle. She could not even move her lips as she saw the Sith sneak up behind her master, nor could she let out a cry as she watched him be cut down in the blink of an eye. The last thing she remembered of that day was the darkness that overtook her as the poor girl fainted out of terror.
At Desevro Academy, Neriah found herself forced into the role of an Acolyte. While she resists openly embracing Sith teachings, she cannot ignore their strength. Their power. She could understand how enticing it could be. Yet she resists. As much as she could. In a world where survival is bought with cruelty and ambition, her struggle is as much with herself as it is with those around her.
Will she remain true to the Jedi… or be consumed by the Covenant's promise of power?
