OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Nelson Prototyping
  • Affiliation: Closed Market
  • Model: NF1
  • Modularity: The metals and materials it is made out of could be changed out.
  • Production: Limited
  • Material: Durasteel, CIrcuitry, Components. Power Supply.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Specially Coded Key: Each of the Neo Forges comes with a specially coded key made for that Neo Forge and that alone. Without the key, one can't operate the Neo Forge.
STRENGTHS
  • Molecular Furnace: It has all the strengths of a Molecular Furnace, albeit downsized.
WEAKNESSES

  • Failsafe: The Neo Forge has a Fail-Safe system that prevents it from making any radioactive or poisonous materials inside it. It simply won't make such.
  • Specially Coded Key: Without the specially coded key, the user can't use a Neo Forge. It simply won't work.
DESCRIPTION

The need for a smaller sized version of the Molecular Furnace existed. It was filled by creating the Neo Forge. This device uses the same principles as a Molecular Furnace in order to operate.

Intent: Downsize an existing sub.

Please link this sub

You can put N/A here

Firewalls: Firewalls have been installed in this that will prevent most hackers from slicing into the device and controlling it.

In what ways could a hacker control this?

Anti Hacking Failsafe: Should a hacker breach the Firewalls, it will attempt to send a nasty computer virus that will flood their system with Memes, and the equivalent to the Narwhal Song.

Menes ad the narwhal song does not exist in star wars nor adhere to star wars.

Self Destruct Switch: A Self Destruct Switch.

What purpose does a self destruct serve on a furnace?

Size: Versions of this exist in various sizes. This includes the normal size, Droid Mounted, Microwave, Etc.

If it has variable sizes then that should be under modularity

  • Material Synthesis: The Neo Forge can convert materials into new materials via breaking them down at a molecular level and reprogramming them.
  • Versatility: It can produce a wide range of materials via breaking down others.
  • Can under certain circumstances create custom materials. (Materials must be apped, and accepted beforehand.)
  • Can also synthesize new items. (Must be apped, and accepted as well.)

Molecular furnaces broke down. Something like a duplicator made new things. Additionally these strengths are almost all literally the same thing.

  • Overheating: Continual use of it to make rare materials (Any amount over Semi Unique) of Restricted Materials would cause the device to overheat, and explode.
  • Fail-Safe: The Neo Forge has a fail-safe that will activate should someone try to use it to create poisons or toxic materials.

These are more a feature of a duplicator then a molecular furnace.

  • Anti Tamper Fail-Safe: Attempts to dismantle or Reverse Engineer a Neo Forge would brick the device.
  • Fail-Safe: The Neo Forge has a fail-safe that will activate should someone try to use it to create poisons or toxic materials.
  • Should one of these be marked as stolen, it will self destruct with the force of a landmine.
  • Voided Warranty: Attempts to hack into or bypass the failsafe against Poisons would void the warranty.

Generally something would only have one fail-safe, you have four all fairly powerful So is it creating poisons or blowing up or ceasing to function? If it ceases to function and is bricked how does it also create poisons and explode?

With the murder of the Mandalorians by The Sith Empire that was done recently, loads of Beskar was taken illegally. Between that, and the murder of the Mandalorians in order to get the materials by the Sith Empire, this inspired the realization that a new source of Beskar would be needed in the galaxy.

One this repeats almost Frank Miller style and two this is a furnace not a new form of beskar as far as I have been able to see. This might be better suited for your beskar B submission

From there, Taji looked into the existence of the Molecular Furnace. Studying the designs, he believed it to be oversized and needlessly bulky. He then improved upon the designs of the Molecular Furnace infinitely by downsizing it into a more compact version as opposed to the size of the original which was a huge monstrocity.

Eventually he completed the Neo Forge, and has prepared it to be sold across the galaxy.

Alright so scaling down a molecular furnace is not a problem it has been done to mining droids in legends canon.... but just havinga furnace means little the World devastators were almost purely furnaces but had machine and forges there to develop the armaments and materials.

Now with that out of the waymy opinion is this sub requires a lot of work.. you packed on weaknesses but they are either largely the same weakness but with a different effect and contradict each other or they have no real purpose as lightsabers aren't going to be used much. Magnetic fields exist on planets in general so this thing is damaged being on a planet?

So the path to approval is this. One address ALL of the edits required, condense the weaknesses down to 4 substantial weaknesses as opposed to the 14 you gave it for fluff. Rework the description to address issues and be more clear.

Mention me when this is done.

Alright Taji Nelson now for round 2

Duplicator: It can make items as well, provided enough materials be put in.

Please link the duplicator
What is the power source that is working with the duplicator to let it forge things?

Limited Amounts: The smaller ones can only produce limited amounts of materials at a time. This is due to the compact nature of the smaller sized ones, and the limited amount of material that could be stuffed inside such.

How small can it get, a molecular furnace a duplicator a reservoir to hold the raw matter and a power source able power the systems is not something that will be easily compacted. it is possible but what method are you using to do it?

Replace / Repair: It is far easier to replace the device for anyone who isn't an Employee of Nelson Prototyping as opposed to someone who is, as they would not know how the internal components of the device work.

This is not a viable weakness

Magnetic Fields: These could be damaged by magnetic fields more intense than that of a planet, IE pressing a magnet against these, using weapons that make use of magnetism.

I am not a science major but I am fairly certain a planets geomagnetic field is magnitudes stronger then a magnet you would be able to hold in your hand.

Not that made for combat: These are not durable enough to be used in combat situations in the slightest. This includes but is not limited to; Lightsabers, Slug Throwers, Blasters, Vibro Weapons, and the like being used against them. The aforementioned would always beat a Neo Forge as the Neo Forge is not made for combat. Ion Weaponry does exceptional damage against the Neo Forge.

A non-combative piece of equipment not being viable in combat is not a substantial weakness.

Failsafe: The Neo Forge has a Fail-Safe system that prevents it from making any radioactive or poisonous materials inside it. It simply won't make such.

This is not really a failsafe this is more limitations to it for safety and limited ability to duplicate is not a substantial weakness.

Krass Wyms Krass Wyms Removed any and all mention of the Duplicator. Removed the areas you had problem with weakness wise, as well.

As to how small it can get, it can get as small as a Microwave at maximum. As to power supply, I am thinking standard electricity, or perhaps even solar batteries for the device.

You want to plug this into a cities power grid? Molecular furnaces required a lot of heat to be generated and required the energy output of starship grade reactors. You are going to need something a lot stronger to power it if you want it to function or a whole lot of credits for the power grid.

That raises so much more question wise.. so now each unit is going to have an aquarium to power it (assuming one eel per unit) with a maximum of 10k units able to be sold. That calls mass production into question andd the ethical treatment since these would be affixed with kill switches I am guessing.

Krass Wyms Krass Wyms Yes, it would have an Aquarium. Would lowering it to minor production be suitable for you, or would you prefer Limited?
The bio Eels were literally made as organic generators.

That would help lowering the production but

These eels are made for a living ship so if several are made and required to power a ship then it would likely be more then one for a molecular furnace.

One of their limitations is that it requires bonding so does this mean that everyone is going to bond with their device?

You are essentially hooking them up, how detrimental can this be for their health if all they are doing is powering things all day. They can produce energy yes but eventually their bodies would want to give out.
