Landmark Name: Badlands

Location: Nalrobi
Affiliation: The area is dominated by Komoda and his Badlands Legion but is populated with many slightly smaller gangs and criminal groups
Size: Large Jungle, with a small desert portion near the southern border
Population: Moderately populated
Demographic: 70% Suchurs 30% other
Many of the Badlands inhabitants are trandoshan and other reptilian species suited for the climate and terrain of
the territory
Accessibility : The Badlands are deep in the jungles of Nalrobi so its difficult to find without coordinates and a guide. Any are welcome in the Badlands except droids and slavers. It is protected by the Badlands Legion, various warlords, and crime bosses.
Description: The Badlands is a brutal territory in the jungles of Nalrobi built on violence and crime. The capital city is built on top of ancient ruins. Ruled by the Gris King and his Badlands Legion it's a haven for criminals and the underworld. The Legion allows everyones operations to continue so long as the flow of soldiers, guns, and credits keeps the army going. Home to most of the planets force sensitive Suchurs there is deep influence of Darkside magic. When Suchurs need help curing ailments or need a dark wish fulfilled they come to the Badland's large population of Gris-Gris users, and usually regret it. Droids are not tolerated on most of Nalrobi due to the Suchurs deep distrust of technology, and even if they were allowed most would be rendered useless by the Suchurs' magnetic field. The territory's main export is large usually predatory beasts.
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Badland's arena is the most important structure to its inhabitants. They watch the fights almost religiously pitting fighters against beasts of the jungle and eachother. It also works as a court system for settling disputes. All of the original Legion soldiers came from the arena, and its still were they get most of their recruits.
The Capital is built on ancient ruins. Komoda turned a large pyramid into his home and governing building.
The black market is another cornerstone of the Badlands you will find all manner of things there; guns, munitions, exotic animals, explosives, armor, drugs, holocrons. Although, Komoda the Gris King doesn't permit droids or slaves to be sold.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Suchurs have religous beliefs that make them distrustful of Force users, they called them Gris, because they think it had something to do with the death of their deity. So, many young Suchurs were forced into exile made to fend for themselves in the dangerous wilds. After decades of this practice they began banding together, and formed a more brutal and savage society that was necessary for survival at one time. As mentioned before sick, or injured Suchur would come to ask the Force users for help and healing. The Gris were rarely exposed to the lightside of the Force and instead most learned and became adept at Darkside magic. The Gris-Gris practicioners were still for the most part undevoloped and in small, fractured, and warring tribes, or basqs. Eventually a rumored prophet, Komoda the Gris King rose up and began uniting the Badland's basqs by force creating the Badlands Legion. The planet had bloody past with outsiders, but when more and more foreign aliens discovered the planet and started doing business on Nalrobi, Komoda saw and opportunity to expand the Legion offworld, and welcomed the outsiders into the Badlands. After many years the more modest foreigners realized this was no home for them and left, leaving only criminals and the like. Now the Badlands grows in power. A dark threat hanging over the heads of the rest of the planet, leading the entire planet into an arms race in preparation for war.
