Description: The Naginata-class is designed for one thing: space combat. It has powerful shields, powerful engines, and the strongest armament of the new line of Atrisian fighters. Unlike the TIE Qiang, the Naginata is designed with landing gear which increases cost and space aboard a ship, but significantly decreases time to launch.
Unlike other Atrisian Fighters, the Naginata is designed for deployment without carrier support. In the hands of a skilled pilot the this starfighter can go toe to toe with anything else in space, but this ability comes at the price of an increased cost making its production more limited than the cheap TIE Qiang.
Lacking an astromech droid, the Naginata is capable of only limited hyperdrive navigation without support from a larger ship. The ship will typically launch with three to four jumps programmed.
