DESCRIPTION

Are you a Chiss? Are you sick and tired of your friends and family getting butchered by Rebel Alliance terrorists? The bad news is, your friends and family aren’t coming back. They’re dead forever. The good news is, Hegemonic Automaton (in collaboration with ArmaTech Combat Systems) is here to manufacture and sell the best combat droids on the market. Now you, the men and women of the Chiss Ascendancy, will be able to kill those Rebel scum right back with more efficiency and brutality than ever before, or your money back!

Named after the legendary hero prevalent in many Chiss myths, the Nerevar series comes in two parts: the N1 Battle Droid and the N2 Super Battle Droid. The N1 Battle Droid functions as a supplement to the Chiss Ascendancy's infantry. To this end, it is skilled in a variety of small and large arms, ranging from assault rifles and snipers to pistols and shotguns. Whether it’s raiding a Selectivist drug den, fighting on the frontlines of some vile Killik colony, or standing guard at important locations- the N1 is capable of doing it all and more!

N1 Battle Droids are armored in the typical style of Hegemonic Automaton’s combat droids. They feature a reinforced Dura-Armor exterior coupled with a coating of blaster resistant molytex. The N1’s skeleton is crafted from a rather unextraordinary durasteel. Since the N1s are smaller and easier to manufacture than their cousins, Hegemonic Automaton and ArmaTech Combat Systems could afford to equip each unit with its own Icon-Class Personal Energy Shield. To conserve power, N1s only activate their shields when in combat or about to engage in combat. This means it is possible to “get the jump on them” before they raise their shields if launching a surprise attack. They also cannot be activated on the fly, as it takes fifteen seconds to power up fully.

When engaged in combat, the N1 is programmed to utilize a variety of Chiss weaponry with great skill. Although it is primarily intended for traditional combat with blasters and slugthrowers, N1s are capable of utilizing more traditional weapons- such as force pikes and vibroblades. Although smaller than the N2, the N1 is generally stronger physically than most other humanoids, and should not be underestimated in melee or unarmed combat.

The usual Hegemonic Automaton staples are also present. This includes the J2 Droid Brain, the most advanced on the market, coupled with the K-65 Targeting System. The N1 is as accurate and intelligent as it is deadly. Further miscellaneous equipment includes a gyroscopic stabilizer for increased stability and strength, a sensorscope and general-purpose scanner to detect a myriad of things, and an Ionization buffer to protect it from Ion and EMP based attacks. To prevent slicers from tampering with the droid, the N1’s comm-link is encrypted and segregated from other processing components.

At the special request of the Chiss Ascendency, the N1 features traits not typically found in combat droids. The N1 also features the programming to allow it to slice into computer systems. To allow it greater access to computers, it comes equipped with a computer probe in its right index finger. The N1 is actually a field test for Hegemonic Automaton’s experimental slicing protocols for droids. While generally effective, it is still in its infancy. Since it was more important that the droid be skilled in combat rather than slicing, its ability to hack into internal systems is not as effective as dedicated slicing droids or even the slicing of skilled organic hackers.

Returning to the issue of the usual Hegemonic Automaton staples, the N1 is not without its quirks. If left for too long without a memory wipe, it can develop sapience and personality quirks. Like the N2, the N1 has two specific quirk paths. The first is when it abandons its duties to pursue a life of cyber-crime. The N1 will attempt to flee Chiss space and seek employ with various criminal organizations- such as the Hutt Cartel, the Black Sun Syndicate, or (if the unit is particularly depraved and malignant) the Rebel Alliance. The second path is much less interesting and mirrors that of the TA1, albeit only in regards to the Chiss Ascendency.

Hegemonic Automaton is not responsible for the actions of any N1 Battle Droids that achieve sapience. Regular memory wipes are highly recommended.

This looks good submission to me. There's only one catch:

coating of blaster-proof molytex
I think "proof" is a bit of strong word that could potentially lead to abuse.

I'd like to see this changed to blaster resistant.

I think it's a fair assumption to say that this sort of armor would be very tough to beat with typical handheld blaster weapons, but I don't want to see or read about someone blazing away at one with an E-Web or a blaster cannon and not doing any damage to its external armor.
