- Planetary Features:
- Mythara is primarily wild, with vast stretches of untouched forests and craggy mountains. Deep scars and ruins of the ancient war that once raged between Thalorande and Felnoreth mar its surface and can be found scattered throughout the world, left as haunting reminders of a time when the entirety of the planet teetered on the edge of oblivion.
Located on opposing hemispheres, Thalorande and Felnoreth represent the distinct characteristics of their ruling court. Thalorande, a city characterized by its tranquil landscapes and the citizen's harmonious relationship with nature, strives to protect and preserve the environment at all costs. Lush greenery, stone buildings, and tranquil landscapes, are the hallmarks of this kingdom. In stark contrast, Felnoreth is synonymous with relentless technological advancement at any cost. The citizens residing within this dark, innovative city show little regard for the environment or morality, focused solely on progress and personal gain. Deceitful and callously ambitious, there's a reason the citizens of this kingdom have cultivated a reputation for being untrustworthy.
Nestled between these contrasting kingdoms lies Eilareth, the capital city that emerged as a neutral gathering place for subjects from both Thalorande and Felnoreth after the devastating war of eons past had concluded. Eilareth acts as a bridge between the two polarized societies, allowing them to come together in a diplomatic setting. Over the hundreds of years since its establishment, Eilareth has become a melting pot of the cultures separated by distance and ideology, but united by necessity. - Major Locations:

- Government: Dual Monarchy

- Wealth: Moderate
- Stability: Tenuous
- Freedom & Oppression:
- In Thalorande, the society values purpose, dignity, and a harmonious coexistence with nature. As such, the government maintains stability by promoting social welfare and environmental conservation. Policies are inclusive and provide equal access to resources and opportunities. However, strict adherence to traditions creates a certain amount of repression, especially for those seeking to diverge from established norms.
Felnoreth's society is driven by unbridled technological progress and personal gain. In this kingdom, an elite class dominates the political and economic structures. This elitism fosters societal inequalities and oppresses the lower classes. Xenophobia against those who are non-Mythari is strong, often leading to blatant discrimination and a gross disregard for the lives of those they've classified as 'other'. A cutthroat culture persists within Felnoreth's government system, with ambition determining one's relationship to power.
Eilareth, the capital city, stands as a place where both ideologies can coexist but inevitably clash from time to time. Striking a delicate balance between freedom and oppression is an ongoing challenge here, as each kingdom attempts to advance or preserve its own interests at the expense of the other.
- Military:
- Both Thalorande and Felnoreth maintain their own standing armies, each with unique tactics and resources aligned with their respective ideologies. These separate forces are brought together under the banner of Eilareth when their unified strength is required to defend the planet.
Thalorande's military philosophy centers around guerilla warfare and leveraging the natural environment to defend their kingdom. Their soldiers are adept at using the terrain to their advantage and utilizing Force magicks to augment their armors and abilities.
Felnoreth's approach to warfare is characterized by advanced military technology, cutting-edge space craft, and relentless aggression. This kingdom boasts a powerful space navy and mechanized ground forces that are supported by ambitious engineers and scientists driven by personal gain.
The planet's overall defense is both enhanced and hindered by the differing approaches of these two kingdoms. Eilareth's role as the meeting point for both forces enables them to cooperate on matters of planetary defense, although their inherently conflicting ideologies often lead to clashes in decision-making and there has been frequent debates and arguments on a more unified military that could be used to push expansion. - Technology:
- There is a wide range of technological capacities due to the polarizing ideologies between Thalorande and Felnoreth. Thalorande maintains a technology level just below the Galactic Standard, consciously pursuing sustainable practices and preserving their natural environment. Felnoreth, on the other hand, pushes well beyond the Galactic Standard through rapid technological innovations and unhindered experimentation, often with little regard for ethics or long-term consequences. The capital city of Eilareth possesses a mix of both extremes, reflecting a unique blend of tradition and progress.
EARLY HISTORY
The origins of Mythara and its inhabitants remain largely enshrouded in mystery, with the planet's early history obscured by a blend of myth and legend. According to early oral histories, the Mythari were saved from slavery by a primordial being that guided them to a world of abundance where they could prosper and grow, as part of some grand, preordained destiny. With a lack of concrete evidence to support or disprove the Mythari's origin story, and the reluctance of the Mythari to allow for archaeological excavations, scholars and archaeologists have had to piece together the truth of the species past through fragmented clues and theories.
One prevailing theory suggests that the Mythari were indeed extraterrestrial in origin, potentially exiles or nomadic travelers who were profoundly shaped by Mythara's unique environment, with the planet's potent Force Nexus believed to have played a crucial role in their evolution, imbuing them with abilities and traits that set them apart from other species.
Another theory posits that the Mythari evolved naturally on Mythara, but were influenced by various ancient and advanced civilizations, possibly from other star systems and planets, ultimately bestowing knowledge and technology upon the early Mythari, catalyzing their rapid societal advancement.
Various stories of mysterious off-world visitors in early Mythari records, often at critical junctures, lends some credence to this theory, though the lack of physical evidence has left the matter open to debate.
The Twin Kingdoms: Thalorande and Felnoreth
As the Mythari civilization advanced, it gradually divided into two distinct kingdoms, each embodying a different aspect of their developing cultures and worldview. In the northern hemisphere, the kingdom of Thalorande emerged, characterized by its deep connection to nature and the principles of harmony. The Thalorandeans believed in living in symbiosis with the land, using the Force to maintain balance and preserve the planet's natural beauty. Their society flourished in tranquil forests and verdant meadows, with cities built from stone and wood, adorned with living plants and flowing water. Thalorandeans viewed themselves as the stewards of Mythara, guardians of its ancient secrets and protectors of its delicate ecosystems. In stark contrast, the southern hemisphere saw the rise of Felnoreth, a kingdom driven by technological advancement and the pursuit of power. Felnorethians believed in the superiority of intellect and innovation, often at the expense of nature and morality. They carved their cities into the mountains and built towering spires of steel and glass, reaching toward the sky in a display of their ambition. The Felnorethians' relentless pursuit of technological progress led to rapid advancements in science, engineering, and warfare, but it also fostered a society marked by inequality, oppression, and a growing disregard for the natural world.
As both kingdoms expanded, their ideological differences became increasingly apparent, setting the stage for a conflict that would shape the course of Mythara's history.
The War of Eons
Predictably, the ideological differences between Thalorande and Felnoreth came to a head after tensions simmered for centuries, finally erupting into open warfare in what would become known as the War of Eons. This conflict, which spanned generations and ravaged the planet, was fueled by a deep-seated animosity between the two kingdoms and their competing visions for Mythara's future. The war, marked by periods of intense fighting, was interspersed with uneasy truces and fleeting peace agreements that were often short-lived, as each new monarch sought to assert their dominance and achieve what their predecessors could not, each generation inheriting the grudges and scars of the last.
