Lady Mysterium
We all wear masks...
I stand alone at a dance awaiting a certain someone to find me. I watch the others as they moved, danced and chatted together. They too came to this venue with the same purpose as I; and that is to meet and perhaps connect with someone. This is unlike anything that I have ever done before, and yet here I am. My previous attempt to perhaps attend one of these events failed as I did not have a match. So it made no sense to go alone.
And although my lists of likes and dislikes did not match a certain individual that reached out to me this time around; one man is still persistant in meeting with me. The man even threw in a bit of mystery similar to my own to entice me. And who am I to say no to that?
I bare a bit more confidence today, given that for this event I am wearing a mask to hide my identity. Such a thing grants me a certain type of freedom that I would otherwise not have had. Wearing a mask keeps my identity and name away from public scrutiny. Plus it protects my own self from harm as well, both my reputation and emotions. The dress that I wear is fit to match my mask. Afterall, I cannot be seen in anything but the best. First impressions are an important thing, regardless of what some people might say.
My vision is only slightly hindered due to the mask; and given that it covers my full face, I am unable to have a drink on hand. But no matter. The music is lovely and I am hopeful that at some point soon, the man that I am waiting for will arrive.
