Manufacturer: CETO: Ceto Engineering & Technology Operations
Model: MBG1 - Mynock Buoy Generation 1
Affiliation: Open Market

Modularity: Yes - Solar Panels, Mounting Kit, custom painted facade.

Production: Mass Produced

Material: Durasteel, duraplast, turadium plating.

Description: If there’s a community of space-goers that knows the aggravation and danger of a mynock infestation - it’s the people who fly the outer rim. Situated not far from the Silken Asteroids where mynocks have been a major problem for decades (if not centuries) the Mynock Buoy has been in testing and production at the Ceto Shipyards since the days of the Moross Crusade. You can understand the time, effort, and grievances of failure that went into this project if you know just what mynocks in large numbers are capable of.

Space-travelers rejoice! The MBG1 is officially ready to serve and prevent by ensuring the greatest amount of mynock casualties, keeping your space-lanes pest free.

The MBG1 is constructed of a turadium plated durasteel hull, giving it added protection against mynock damage and increasing its durability for emplacement within asteroid fields and high-traffic space zones. This buoy is equipped with electromagnetic charge pads (#3 in the illustration) to attract field pests and sensors to detect visual motion, physical vibration, and power drops all associated with mynock swarming and feeding habits. Once engaged the buoy releases puffs of helium from six separate ports (3 at the top and 3 at the bottom) - triggering that all too entertaining allergy of these tenacious space termites. Onlookers can then enjoy a show of dramatic Mynock Puffing en masse.

The MBG1’s internal computer and signal array (located at the top) will transpond all instances of use with reliable mynock counts to a central command hub of your configuration. Under heavy swarm the signal array recedes into the body of the buoy and becomes encapsulated by the three helium prongs for protection.

As a stationary buoy, the MBG1 does not have any need for fuel. The tank at the bottom stores its helium supply and is double coated with turadium for added protection. The MBG1’s helium supply is good up to 3,000 uses (1 helium spray from one port = 1 use) and will signal the command hub when it is nearing depletion at 200 uses left. Refilling your buoy is a quick and easy process and the supplied Ion Battery will last up to 4 refills. Battery replacement requires a maintenance check - which CETO proudly offers free of charge. Undamaged buoy’s are back and working within 4 hours.

Alternatively should your buoy placement sit in direct line of solar radiation, CETO offers solar-panel mods for a constant working charge. The MBG1 can also be mounted on larger freighter or capital ship hulls or even directly to space stations and asteroids - this kit is sold separately and requires professional installation to protect the integrity of the product and mount.

Eager to show your colors? Every MBG1 can be customized with your faction’s colors, serving not only as pest control against Mynocks, but as a territory signifier against in-laws and other unwanted visitors. CETO will not be held responsible for any subsequent paint-tagging of this product by space hooligans.
