My Names Walker, sith walker

Krayt Industries has lot waste durasteel, a by product of using unskilled labour. It was piling up in the skips quicker than recycle it, though some of the metal scraps where long and wide, but cut too short to be used as a wing. Whilst this was going on Darth Banshee was trying, to figure out some sort vehicle design to go with her prototype heavy dropship. She had few designs but nothing concrete.
She was about to give up for a day, when an acolyte named [member="Albrecht Tagge"] came in with a data pad. She decide for some reason not dismiss him and get to her wine, or meditation ether was good.

After some tense moments, the acolyte appeared, flanked by a couple of rather important-looking businessmen, one being a Muun and the other an Umbaran. As requested by his superiors, Albrecht had tracked down whatever engineers or shipwrights he could find, and after a week or so, came across a couple of engineers that had formerly worked for Kuat Drive Yards, before internal politics had forced them out of the company. When he had offered them this chance at a job, they had eagerly accepted the opportunity, thus saving the human acolyte the trouble of having to 'convince' them. Even better, they had worked on ground vehicles for KDY before their...forced resignations, and so their experience with such vehicles, walkers in particular, would be invaluable for reinforcing the One Sith's ground forces.

"Lord Banshee, I'm here as requested" the acolyte reported with a shallow bow in greeting, then gestured to the two engineers, "I've scouted a couple of former KDY engineers to assist us in addressing our current deficiency in ground vehicles. The Muun is Norm Kal, and the Umbaran is Masonn Heyr."

(OOC: just leave control of these two NPCs to me - I can handle controlling them in addition to Albrecht)

Darth Banshee decide to listen, her wine could do with more breathing time anyway. As she listened she new she have to correct the acolyte later, she is a darth not a lord. Though she would not embarrass a member of her order by doing so in front non members. As acolyte finished explain who his guest where, she decide to ask a couple questions of them. May I ask why you left kuat drive yards? She paused waited for answer

Albrecht was indeed aware of the perceived error, but it had been explained to him that it was merely an honorific to refer to somebody of a higher rank in a formal setting. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time he would have been force choked, or blasted with force lightning for even a minor mistake. The human acolyte turned to the engineers, intrigued to hear their explanation in detail; they had said before that "it was a long story", but now would be the time to go into detail. Norm cleared his throat and began to explain.

"A lot of it had to do with internal politics" he began, "this is a problem that has plagued the company for centuries; those who could learn how to navigate the absolute mess of bureaucracy, and stayed in their superiors' good graces, survived, unless you were somehow of too great a value to risk losing...such a shame that the Board of Directors sorely underestimated the value that my associate and I had to the company..."

The Muun turned towards his Umbaran colleague and nodded, to which Masonn replied by pulling a handheld holoprojector out of the pocket of his blazer. Upon activating it, a small image of a bipedal walker appeared. Albrecht was quite impressed with the design, from its spindly yet powerful legs to its armored cockpit, resembling the head of some predatory reptile.

"Is this a project you were working on at KDY?" the acolyte asked.

"Correct - I was the head of development of ground vehicles, while my associate was an engineer specializing in legged designs" Norm confirmed with a smirk, "This is the All-Terrain Light Armored Walker, intended to carry on the legacy first established by the AT-PT, then inherited by the AT-ST, as an infantry support walker. It's the most advanced design of this type in the entire galaxy, a prototype of which would have been undergoing testing by now if they had patented the design before our...forced resignations."

Darth Banshee was intrigued by the walker, and asked the engineers We have a lot waste materials making our fighters. Have a look and see if you can get the required parts, to make a working prototype. Then if you can report back to me, and tell me what else you may need. She then paused and looked at the acolyte, When you have finished showing them where the waste materials are, would you please deliver this note to [member="Darth Veles"]. She wrote hand written note to her one her former trainers. After writing it she sealed it, it read My dear Darth Veles, please show this young apprentice a makash lightsaber form. She had decide to let his punishment be training round with the man who put her in bacta tank for a week.

"From fighters?" Norm asked, pausing to think this over for a moment, particularly regarding which parts could be reused from starfighter production to produce a combat walker. The obvious answer was in the form of various electronics - sensors and the like - along with perhaps armament, armor for lighter vehicles, and maybe power generation. Ultimately, it all came down to the intended role for the walker in question, which was yet another question that needed to be asked, as there were multiple designed variants of the AT-LAW that were each intended for their own role.

"Yes, is there a problem with that?" Albrecht asked as he received the note from [member="Darth Banshee"], already suspecting something less than favorable to himself by this point, considering that typically one would use a comlink for most communications, unless it was something she explicitly didn't want him and/or the two ex-KDY engineers to find out.

"Well...not really, no, but there will be some parts that we'll have to manufacture - not every component can be made from leftover parts from starfighter production" the Muun answered, "Since, after all, this is a walker, not a repulsor vehicle."

She looked at the engineer, and replied True, but I like to see what you can reuse and slavage. What you can`t salvage I will have to make premises available to build them, that cost money. We are only up to prototypes at moment. So the more you reuse the better, as it keeps my cost down. This in turn makes the venture more profitable, and their fore better for all concerned. We have hydraulic rams, we use for land struts, metal casing. Just see what you can reuse, the rest i will try to get people to build for you.

"Understood, although there are some...finer details that we must discuss first" Norm answered. He knew that they wanted the AT-LAW as the basis of a walker design, but what he had neglected to mention was that the design was a multipurpose one, and so for each role required of the vehicle, he needed to know what the Sith's specifications were. "Unless you want only a single basic variant, it would serve you well to elaborate on whatever roles you wish it to fill, so that my colleague and I can adjust the design accordingly to fill each one effectively."

Darth Banshee smiled at them as they saw things her way, and then spoke again Well I will let [member="Albrecht Tagge"] work on this with you, and he can commandeer what you need for this. Though you have a working prototype, I like to have a look. She then looked at the acolyte, and continued speaking Remember I need this to fit inside a heavy drop ship, so it can be deployed. She then looked at the group as whole, smiled and politely said I will see you in a week or two, but I hopefully see you soon.
