STRENGTHS

High Mobility and Agility - The MX-55i's lightweight bipedal frame and modernized actuators allow it to move quickly across urban terrain, forests, and uneven ground, making it far more maneuverable than heavier walkers or repulsortanks.

Excellent Anti-Infantry Capability - Equipped with a DF-90 mortar and flexible grenade payload, the walker is capable of suppressing, dislodging, or neutralizing infantry squads behind cover, inside structures, or in fortified positions.

Compact Profile - Its small size and relatively low silhouette make the walker harder to target at range and allow it to operate effectively in confined environments where larger vehicles cannot maneuver.

Hi-Intensity Searchlights - These walkers come equipped with four searchlights aligned in pairs on either side of the cockpit that can be utilized in search and rescue operations or can be utilized to disorient enemy infantry in darker environments.

Effective Squad Support Platform - Medium and light blaster cannons provide consistent suppressive fire, complementing Mandalorian infantry advances and withdrawals.

WEAKNESSES

Light Armor Protection - Lightweight ablative armor offers limited resistance against heavy blasters, explosives, or dedicated anti-vehicle weapons, forcing reliance on speed and positioning for survival.

Vulnerability to Heavy Weapons - The MX-55i is highly susceptible to missile launchers, heavy repeating blasters, and armored vehicles, and cannot survive prolonged exposure to such threats.

Hi-Intensity Searchlights - While a boon in search and rescue operations, the intensity and location of these searchlights provide an ample target and can easily mark the location of the walker, especially in nighttime conditions.

Limited Ammunition Capacity - The mortar's specialized munitions are carried in small quantities, requiring careful fire discipline and regular resupply during extended engagements.

No Passenger or Transport Capability - The MX-55i cannot carry troops or additional crew, restricting it strictly to fire support and reconnaissance-adjacent roles.

DESCRIPTION

The MX-55i Type Support Walker is a fast, lightly armored infantry support platform developed by Aether Systems for the Mandalorian Empire as a modernization of the earlier Infantry Support Walker. Drawing design inspiration from the Clone Personal Walkers of the Clone Wars era, the MX-55i refines that legacy with improved mobility systems, updated weapon integration, and Mandalorian-optimized battlefield survivability. Designed to operate alongside infantry rather than replace them, the MX-55i excels at suppressing enemy squads, clearing entrenched positions, and providing mobile fire support in environments where larger vehicles would be ineffective or vulnerable. Its DF-90 mortar allows it to arc specialized munitions into cover-heavy areas, while its blaster cannons deliver direct-fire support against exposed targets. Rather than relying on heavy armor, the MX-55i emphasizes speed, agility, and tactical flexibility. It is intended to strike quickly, reposition often, and support coordinated assaults rather than endure sustained fire. Additionally, each walker is equipped with multiple high-intensity searchlights located in sets of two on either side of the cockpit. These lamps can be utilized to assist in rescue operations or can be utilized to blind or startle unsuspecting enemy combatants; however, the location of these lights can be easily seen due to their intensity, creating easily identifiable targets. In Mandalorian service, these walkers are commonly deployed in packs or paired with infantry units, acting as mobile force multipliers that enhance battlefield control without sacrificing tempo. While incapable of standing toe-to-toe with armored threats, the MX-55i remains a highly effective light cavalry asset - one that embodies the Mandalorian preference for aggressive, mobile warfare supported by precise and adaptable firepower.
