Strengths:
  • Scout: These little droids are specifically designed by Munin to act as the perfect little scouts. Their function is limited to this role, but is also specifically tailored to the way that Munin conducts it. As one might expect the droids are of relatively simple design, containing a battery, camera, sensor array, scanner system, and a small comm-relay in order to transmit information back to Munin. The Communications relay only has a range of about ten kilometers before it needs to rebroadcast through another transceiver, otherwise the drone will lose signal. The unique aspect of the drone is Munin's own programming. The drone automatically attaches itself to any and all signals within the area, downloading and redirecting communications it latches onto directly towards it's home control server(Most often Munin's datapad) for decryption and analysis. It should be noted that the drone does not decrypt the transmissions, it simply copies and forwards them to it's control server.
Weaknesses:
  • Fragile: In the end these drones are quite simply designed and don't have a hard outershell. They were built with a fiberplast enclosure and thus aren't very resistant to being broken. A blaster shot, slugthrower, hell even a bat would be enough to break one of these things.
Description:
Though most of Munin and Huginn's information gathering is done either remotely or through secondary parties, there are times when either of the Broker Duo goes out into the field. Most often this role is assigned to Munin, who is better able to blend and interact with a crowd. This often means Munin goes out onto worlds and planets where he's never been before, something that he is loathe to do.

In order to counter his lack of knowledge upon this worlds Munin and Huginn created these drones.

The drones were of relative simplistic design, being made up of several different scout drones that had simply been cannibalized by the information Brokers. The construction of the drones themselves is simplistic and easily to replicate on an as needed basis, making them easy for both Munin and Huginn to reproduce when necessary.

Similarly, the function of the drones is also rather simplistic. More often then not they serve as normal scout drones, being sent out by either Huginn or Munin to find out information about a local area. The Drone achieves this through multiple different means. It takes photographs, precise scans, and maps it's surroundings through the use of sonics and echo-relays. This all comes together to form a perfect picture of both the topography of the area, and any organics that might be moving through it. The Drone also carries a small microphone to overhear any suspicious sounds. All of this data is then sent back to the Drones Command and Control Server, most often located on Munin or Huginn's datapad. If the CCS is out of range, the drone either deletes the data or reroutes it and sends it through a nearby transceiver.

The most unique, and perhaps important feature, of the Drone is it's role as a data replicator.

A small piece of software within the drone prompts it to keep it's comm-relay active at all times. This means that the relay picks up any and all signals currently being routed around it, or any transceivers it is near. The data is picks up is the rerouted and sent to it's command and control server for further processing. The drone achieves this by basically forcing itself to be a small relay station within the local communications network. Though this is perfect for gathering information, it does make the drone easy to find if one knows what to look for.

All in all the drones Munin designs are neither unique nor perfect, they fulfill a small niche role and nothing more.
