Points of Interest:

Mimban Prime Atmospheric Biodome: The biodome on Mimban Prime has been adapted to replicate the jungles of Mimban, complete with plants and small animals. There are several realistic-looking dummies and droids adapted to look like the predators of Mimban. As part of initial orientation to being posted at Mimban itself, soldiers undergo basic environmental training in this biodome before being posted onto the world itself. It's not uncommon to see particularly trying officers and hardcore NCOs conduct battle simulations inside the dome when it's not being used for initial jungle orientation.

Description: Mud-Jumpers Memorial Defense Installation, named after the clone trooper group which liberated the world during the Clone Wars, is a quartet of space stations that were placed in geosynchronous orbit over the main city of Mimban. The main centerpiece is Mimban Prime, whose main duty is to deter and delay planetary assaults on Mimban's capital. The three orbital bases are arrayed in a ring around t hat station, which each station being approximately 400 meters away from Mimban Prime.

Mimban Prime is most known, however, as the transfer point for soldiers newly arriving for service on the world. Aside from basic sundry equipment issues and briefings, new soldiers to Mimban undergo basic environment training to better understand and interact with the dangerous wildlife on Mimban itself. Much of this training revolves on proper movement through the jungle locale, and how to react to stumbling across creatures like the native Circarpousian water snake. There are advanced jungle warfare classses are also taught here, complete with live-fire exercises. About half of the marines assigned to Mimban Prime are cadre/instructors to this jungle orientation and warfare course.

Mimban Prime is supplemented by a trio of Shield-class Orbital Bases which provide strikecraft to defend the station and respond to local incursions. At any given time, about a dozen craft from the group's squadron is out on patrol. Most patrols fly primarily around the commercial hyperlanes in and out of the system. From this position, they are in ideal locations to perform custom spot checks and rapidly respond to pirate attacks.

Confiscated cargoes from smugglers and other criminals, along with Republic military stores designed for the ground use, are often found floating several dozen meters away from Mimban Prime, waiting in Class G and Class-L cargo containers. Given the nature of their contents, these are almost all within the fire arc of at least one weapon from that station.

History: During the Republic's return to Mimban, it was decided that at least one space station would be set up in orbit directly over Mimban's capital. Original plans slated for this to be a classic XQ1-series of space station which would act as a logistical supply point. These plans were further revised, as it was soon decided that such a station would be too small for the eventual build-up of Mimban as a forward base near the One Sith border. Because of the threat they posed, and to serve as a visible sign of the Republic's commitment to Mimban, a single Citadel-class Station was slated to act as that military supply point. Further amendments onto these original plans ironically saw the arrival of the Shield-class Orbital Bases, which became operational before Mimban Prime. While Mimban Prime was undergoing its final installation touches, the Republic staged a war game that pitted the Shield-class Orbital bases and their starfighters against a medium-sized raiding element. Mimban Prime simulated the original XQ platform for these purposes, and was not involved in any actual fighting.

Intent: Formally documenting the defense construction started in this thread, in which the stations are tested in a mock battle after deployment. (specifically here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here)
