Strengths:

  • Atmospheric Decontamination: Advanced neutralizing Ionic decontaminator mimics the absorption of various plants in a mechanical form that provides a means of dialing and selecting a specific toxin to decontaminate from the area selected. The decontaminates are processed through the various chambers until placed in safety containers based on type. This process can decontaminate an area up to 80% of known toxins, metals, radioactive, inorganic and organic biohazards.

  • Energy Solutions: Refined Isotope- 5 powercore in a compact solution allows for longevity with a stable and efficient use of energy. These atmospheric decontaminating stations are sustainable and produce little carbon imprint. Solairum Technology provides for a backup and sustainable use of energy through the solarium glasteel and solarium panels that surround the atmospheric filtration station.

  • Defenses: Ray and particle shields secure the canisters and holding containers of the materials filtered. Use of Plastiray provides for enhanced Ion, electronic, and EMP protection.
Weaknesses:

  • It takes time: This decontaminator requires at the very least 24 hours to properly process an area it decontaminates. It must be dialed specifically to a toxin to focus absorption and to select a rate to process it.

  • Potential Reaction: One must be careful that volatiles elements or substances do not accidentally intermix in the final containers, as there might be a dangerous reaction. If the refined isotope 5 power core is exposed from it's ray and particle shield and triple shielded case it makes it vulnerable to sabotage. It has been found that while this refined Isotope-5 is more stable, direct contact with styrofoam has been found to produce volatile effects akin to that of baradium bisulfate. Mandatory Hazard decals are a requirement and at no time should the refined Isotope-5 be transported in or placed alongside any styrofoam products.
  • Situation Specific if using neutra serum for a specific decontamination use:
    Can't neutralize it all: Based on environmental factors and a species physiology, it isn't possible to completely neutralize all of the neurotoxin. It is a first line of defense, allowing to mitigate the heavy loss of life of weaponized agents. Medical care is still very highly recommended, as trace contact with any neurotoxin, poison, or biochemical agent may still have some muted effects.
  • Timed Activation: Depending on the medium used to distribute, activation for neutralizing can vary. Disbursement as a gas can start neutralizing the area immediately within five meters, but will take longer based on environmental factors. A good stiff wind could also affect neutralization, as a gas is mercurial in nature. Injected or consumed, the neutralizing agent is able to work at a quicker pace depending on the species circulation systems and physiology.
  • Allergies: It has been found that at least in 4% of the population, Neutra Serum can produce deadly allergic reactions to include the swelling of broncoal tubes, sensitivity to light that induces phytophotodermatitis, resulting in blisters and long-lasting scars. These serious reactions are due to the furocoumarin derivatives in the leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and seeds of the plant. Initially, the skin colours red and starts itching. Blisters form as it burns within 48 hours. They form black or purplish scars that can last several years. Other severe symptoms include nausea, coma, and potentially death.

To continue the ongoing research into terraforming and toxin removers, research into specific flora that was able to absorb deadly toxins, metals, and minerals provided the knowledge to synthesize the technology.

Certain plants, it turns out, have a particular gift for sucking up specific chemicals, either as a quirk of their biology or as a way to make themselves poisonous and avoid being eaten. When these plants are sown on the contaminated ground, they absorb the contaminants of the ground and the air into their tissues, gradually reducing the amount in the soil until it is safe for humans.

Called phyto-remediation, this process has become one of the newest and most promising fields of biology. Similar methods use mushrooms in what is called myco-remediation, or use bacteria and have unfortunate names like bio-sparging, bio-slurping and bio-venting. The basic method is straightforward: find out what toxins lurk in your patch of ground, and come up with a regimen of plants appropriate for the climate that hyper-accumulate those particular toxins.

This same technology was transferred into ionic and sonic methods of absorption and removal for an atmosphere. Carbon nanotubes were placed onto quartz wool, then epoxidized to make them active to adsorb metal ions. It was discovered that vinegar reacts with the metal in solution to adsorb it from solution in a very efficient manner.

As such, the technology was refined, until the protoype produced results of at least 80% toxin, metal ore, inorganic or organic biohazards from the atmosphere. With the filtrations and separations systems, one can dial a specific focus for decontamination. What materials will be sorted into different specialized and secure containers, with metals that can be recycled and refined for use stored later and any other substance that is renewable. All others will be appropriately neutralized through combustion, allowing for a smaller carbon footprint. For advanced biochemical, neuro toxins and poisons, the use of neutra serum is utilized, as the nesira plant has been found to have beneficial neutralizing properties. For radiation, the filtering process is enough to trap and isolate radioactive waste, funneling it into radioactive shielded containers made out of a lead-polymer substrate that gave protection needed to withstand lethal Grade 5 radiation zone for several hours. Optional use of radioactive foam are also possible to help These are then processed in molecular furnaces to mitigate the substances.

This Ion atmospheric Decontaminator showcases a smaller Isotope-5 powercore ensure the longevity of the generators as well as lessen the risk of handling and use. Utilizing a load-shedding technique, excess electrical and/or mechanical energy in the system was re-channeled into energy reservoirs. I don't see any mention of radioactive materials in either submission, though it's possible that I missed it somewhere.

However, I think that radioactive particles could probably be trapped or otherwise neutralized through the rest of the filtering process. The biggest issue would be figuring out how to process the radioactive waste once it's obtained, but given given star wars radiation shielding technlogy and things like molecular furnaces, I do not think that this would be a huge issue.
