Speed Rating:
- Atmospheric Flight: 18

Strengths:
- Able to provide effective field treatment for up to four patients in normal to emergency circumstances.
- Sufficient cargo and supplies to maintain a maximum crew of up to 3 people and 4 patients for three weeks before requiring resupply. This does not include medical supplies, however.
- Can be piloted by a single individual

Weaknesses:
- No armament: if engaged in combat, the MT-42 is unable to return fire, and is only capable of defending itself via use of a standard shield generator and evasive maneuvering
- Slow in atmosphere: Though capable of flying effectively at sublight speeds in space, the shuttle functions far less effectively in atmospheric conditions, and must be maneuvered slowly at all times.
- Cargo capacity does not include spare parts for onboard systems, so the ship cannot be repaired without use of a shipyard or local spaceport.

Description

Designed to provide effective medical assistance, the MT-42 is a medium-range, hyperdrive capable Medical Ship, able to offer emergency medical transport to any that might require it. The ship is equipped with a wide range of medical technology, though it is not designed to function as a complete hospital ship: thus, it is limited in terms of diagnostics and treatment options available, though it houses an Antidote Synthesizer capable of producing medications in the field, if required. The ship's airlock may serve as a secure decontamination unit, to allow infected patients to be screened and sterilised before coming aboard.

Able to accommodate a maximum of 4 patients with 3 crew (only one of whom must be a pilot), the MT-42 also has on-board provision for a patient who is too badly injured to be given anything other than basic emergency treatment: for this, an onboard stasis chamber has been provided, to allow for a patient to be placed in suspended animation temporarily while taken to the nearest medical facility or hospital ship.

Cargo capacity is sufficient to allow supplies for up to three weeks of continuous flight: this includes food supplies, fuel, coolant, and any miscellaneous supplies the crew might require. This does not however include medical supplies: there cannot be an accurate estimate given for the amounts stored aboard, since this will vary dependent upon need and usage. The duration of consumables will similarly vary based on number of people aboard.

The ship can be piloted by one individual alone, allowing it to be used in fairly versatile manner: it can be staffed by a full crew of medical professionals, along with a pilot, or used by a single individual desirous of having appropriate medical facilities available to them.

Crew quarters are sufficient for capacity, with a single large patient room allocated to recovery suitable for 4 people, with 3 single-person berths complete with their own beds and sanisteam units.
It should be noted that this ship is not intended for combat use, nor is it designed to maintain long-term medical care for any individual, and should therefore be considered appropriate for short-term procedures and medical transport only.

Development Thread: If necessary

Intent: To create an effective small medical shuttle for field use by the Order of the Silver Jedi.

This all checks out. Just want to make sure you're aware that a class-7 hyperdrive takes 7x longer to get anywhere than a class-1 drive, and over twice as long as a common class-3 civilian drive. Seems a little counterintuitive for an emergency medical relief transport.

CEC has been run by [member="Ayden Cater"] for years now. Can you get his permission to use his company, then link to his approved company sub? Alternately, just use a different company or name the faction as the manufacturer.

Ah, did not know that - just figured it would be a suitable choice, given that CEC was traditionally a canon company. Didn't realise we had a version running on the board! I'll just name the Faction.
