Maiven's heart raced as she guided her clawcraft ever closet to the surface of Naporar. Even closer to her home, and her family. She was prepared to face her father and the legion of Nuruodo soldiers who clung to the old guard. She should have come back months ago to deal with this. The War of the Blue Diamond raged on in the west and the new Chiss Ascendancy wasn't ready to deal with it, not if the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force was still in the hands of House Nuruodo. When the Chiss rebellion had started, Maiven's father sat comfortably on his wealth and army. Not only his personal army but the entire Chiss army, at least those that hadn't followed Maiven out. Her father had been in hiding for sometime but Maiven had finally found him. His error was returning to work. The man could have waited out the rebellion and probably quashed it in the time he spent hiding from Maiven's wrath. Now he had finally returned to the CEDF, and Maiven was eager to have a word with him. Her ship touched down on the landing pad of the CEDF HQ and as she exited she was greeted with a startling sight....

Maiven pulled herself out of the starfighter's cockpit and breathed in the cool mountain air of her home. She'd missed that feeling, and the sight of the mountains that surrounded the landscape. She climbed down and turned to begin her walk in to the building. It would be a walk that decided the future of her House and quite possibly the Chiss. What stopped her was a face she hadn't wished to see today. A man she'd rather have left out of this. Her brother: Barat'ara'nuruodo.

"Rama'ive! So good of you come back here. Father's eager to see you again." he said smugly, knowing full well that Maiven was the enemy.

"It's Maiven. I like it better like that, and I'm sure father's going to be ecstatic." She said rolling her eyes.

"You've gone soft. Your core name means nothing here sister. It's simply an alias you adopted to appease the feeble minds of Humans and other aliens. Now come inside, the air's a little too warm for my liking."

With out another word Maiven followed her brother inside. The bridge from the landing pad to the building door took no more than a minute to cross, but it felt like hours. The clicking of their boots on the metal walkway and the chirping of the birds in the morning sun began to drive her crazy.

When the door to HQ slid open, her heart nearly raced out of her chest. Were they trying to appeal to her 'better nature'? Perhaps. Nothing had prepared her for the sight of her mother and her sister, standing around a holo-table with the man she had come to kill, her very own father. They knew she wouldn't do it here.

Her father eased up from leaning both hands on the table, apparently in deep thought. "Hello darling. Glad you could finally make it home."
