STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Thurstal is a level-headed, very pragmatic strategist and system overseer. Deals primarily in naval design and administration, but has tactical sense and is a highly competent defensive mind. Has a tendency to ignore high command in favor of the good of the fleet, and will not hesitate to delineate and weaknesses he sees, no matter the rank before him. Does not interface with people in general, relying on sheer technical ability to gain and secure rank and status.

APPEARANCE:
Thurstal has a somewhat standard humanoid build, with the muscle definition of a part-time gym rat. Hair is kept short, fingernails immaculately trimmed, and uniform almost obsessively in order. Eyesight is augmented with cybernetic implants due to early age macular degeneration, with the implants requiring occasional scheduled maintenance and upgrade.

BIOGRAPHY:
Thurstal is a relic, a throwback to the bygone days of the ruling houses of Csilla. Born the son of two Defense Force exiles, his upbringing was spent on the run, with very little but history books and technical schematics to hone his appetite for information. Upon reading of the once-great Ruling Houses of Csilla, he stylized his behavior after that of a legendary Chiss outcast – namely, Mitth'raw'nuruodo. Though he would never have the ability to destroy a species by analyzing its art, Thurstal molded his behavior and demeanor on the oldest records of that great Admiral.

His natural ability with numbers, and a fully cloud-style perception of information led him to the Kuat Drive Yards accounting office, wherein he was instrumental in unearthing several instances of fraud and embezzlement. The administrators of the ancient shipbuilders were heavy with their praise, often making Thurstal a pariah among his coworkers. Lacking the social network to get through his career on connections, his comfort with the ships in production caught the attention of Navy personnel, who recruited him as a commissioned officer to liaise with the administrators.

With a re-found appetite for classified schematics laid bare before him, he absorbed the capabilities and comparative strengths and weaknesses of every craft set before him. Near-perfect scores in battle simulations and working tests of new ship classes steadily improved his career, reaching a high (albeit mostly symbolic) rank of Fleet Admiral in charge of the defense and administration of the Kuat sector.

He continues to work closely with the Drive Yards personnel, often appearing as an expert witness during their oversight inspections and design proposal meetings. In what little spare time he affords himself, he trains on the highest levels of fleet simulators, coordinating defenses and precision strikes against a variety of opponents, ready to defend the core asset of a full-system shipyard.

SHIP:
Thurstal's personal craft, the Cerulean Sprite, is a design modeled loosely on the old Upsilon-class design. It has very little in the way of aggressive armament, opting instead for increased engine power, point-defense laser batteries to counter missile attack, and mirror flak for breaking and mitigating starfighter armaments. The ship would not last long against the directed barrage of a capital ship, but an upgraded navicomputer with coordinates programmed for a dead-man's jump helps with evasion.

KILLS:
Thustal works behind the scenes, engaging in ship-to-ship and fleet battles as opposed to what he considers the uncouth brawling of ground-based infantry and the senseless savagery of hand-to-hand combat. Nevertheless, he is skilled enough to defend himself from an amateur opponent, and has no qualms calling his security detail to deal with more advanced threats.

BOUNTIES COLLECTED:
None. Bounties he would place are merely suggestions to Command, who deal with them in their own fashion. Thurstal holds no personal vendettas, and believes that nursing grudges take away from time for actually worthwhile tasks.
