The multipurpose generator powers the two main features of the weapons. For one the vibro functions that increase the blades cutting power tremediosly, secondly, it electrifies the blade which is acting as a conductor with which they can paralyse their prey.
They tend to patch work these tools together from other scavenged vibroblades or remould parts of ship hulls to blades and then set them up with the wiring. There is a special group of workers within the Mithrax Machinist guild that specifically work on repurposing parts to make these weapons.
