Mission to Seltos (Master/Apprentice Mission)

Kian listened to his apprentice's words, but said nothing more. The climb was taxing and they needed to be cautious in their foot and hand holds. Taking their time, the climb would take almost a full hour to reach the top. By the time they reached the top it would be likely that they would both be very tired. As they approached the top the sun dipped down behind the trees and the last leg of the trip to the top was done in complete darkness.

When Kian finally reached the top he pulled himself up and over and then turned back, offering his apprentice his hand.

"We'll make camp here for the night." Kian said as he pulled his apprentice up. "Gather some firewood....but be careful." Kian said glancing into the shadows around them. "I get the sense we're not alone. The shadows often conceal predators." Kian said his eyes seeing nothing but his gut telling him there was something out there. He turned back and began to set up their tent and a small array of security sensors that would alert them to anyone approaching during the night.

So Spike set out in search for firewood on [member="Kian Karr"]'s order. It was a simple task, and a necessary one for the duo to survive out here in the wild.

Spike wandered around in the surrounding forest until he came upon some suitable firewood, which he soon found not long after beginning his search.

Only when he was walking back to the campsite did he run into trouble, his master had talked about predators in the shadows and he was correct. Spike was faced with one of these predators (I have no idea what it is my self). Spike immediately dropped his firewood bundle as the creature circled him, it was a fearsome predator surely. Spike had a rush of thought and decided to tame the creature and deter it using the force. The process took awhile as Spike channeled the force into the beast, willing it to turn away, eventually it succeeded and the predator slipped back into the shadows.

Spike now set out for the campsite, he arrived not long after doing so.

The campsite went up without hitch and fairly quickly. It was a simple campsite, just a canopy and two sleeping bags rolled out beneath the canopy. What was more sophisticated was the relay of sensors that surrounded the site and were set to tell them if anyone broke the perimeter of the campsite.

When [member="Spike Arrel"] returned, Kian indicated the spot to set the firewood and the two of them went about setting up the campfire. Once it was ready, Kian nodded towards the sleeping bag.

"Go ahead and get some rest." Kian said kneeling down a few feet away from the campsite. He wasn't going to sleep, but rather meditate throughout the night, it would help him to keep an eye on things. He still had an uneasy feeling, even after learning about the animals that Spike had run into. There was something else out there......but he didn't think they would be facing much trouble throughout the night.

"I'll keep watch."
