OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a workshop location for Jack Sandrow, and to create a neutral ground for those who wish to meet without fear of retribution or reprisal.
  • Image Source: Me, I made it!
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Jack Sandrow
  • Affiliation: Jack Sandrow
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: Mirasol
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Plant & fungal materials, with Plant Surge used to change their composition & purpose. Used as various and diverse phylogenetic components:
    • Stellar hull (bright green)
      • Durable, self-healing, uses Force barriers as shielding
      • Transparent coating over energy-generating vesicles
      • Water-cooled to prevent overheating from the star
    • Anterior hull (dark brown bark)
      • Durable, self-healing, uses Force barriers as shielding
      • Thick, durable lining, uses water vessels near the surface to leech heat from the stellar hull into space.
      • Water vessels are also used to heat the rest of the station
    • Trunk
      • Durable, slightly flexible, uses Force barriers as shielding
      • Allows transfer of nutrients and water from the main hull to the living areas
      • Keeps a safe distance from the heat of the main hull
    • Force-drive Filaments
      • Collimates and collects Force energies for the Force-drive. Unfurls from the anterior hull when transportation is necessary.
      • The Force-drive can only transport the station to locations with a large Force presence (such as a well-inhabited planet, or a planet with a Force Nexus)
      • Requires repositioning after a jump in order to situate properly against a star
    • Tower
      • The lounge & meeting areas allow for a maximum of 110 individuals
      • Contains the main bar & restaurant
      • The lower half of the tower is Jack's workshop and personal quarters
    • Landing Platforms & Branches
      • Flexible and malleable physiology allow for any ship (that fits) to dock
      • Does NOT provide refueling, rearming, or repairing options
      • Light shielding prevents accidental bumps, and fast repair for the station if any bumps actually do punch through
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Stellar Orbital Platform
  • Length: 957.8 m
  • Width: 957.8 m
  • Height: 340.2 m
  • Armament: None
  • Defenses: High
  • Hangar Space:
    • 12 umbilical ports for ships between 100 - 600 m long
    • 24 umbilical ports for ships 150 m long or less
  • Maneuverability Rating: Very Low
  • Speed Rating: Very Low
  • Hyperdrive: 4.6 rating (Uses the Force-drive system, but is a large and sluggish vessel. Cannot enter hyperspace with other ships connected.)
STANDARD FEATURES
  • Custom hardwood flooring & natural paneling
  • Gorgeous living interior decoration, lighting provided by bioluminescent flora & fungi lining each wall
  • A well-stocked bar and fine dining options for those who wish to partake
  • Every ship that has a docking port (and is the correct size) is able to connect to the station via an entirely organic & perfect-fitting seal
  • The station is entirely neutral ground - paying a standard entry toll of a mere 500 UC allows people to conduct their business freely within
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Force-drive
  • Energy recycling systems allow for maximum efficiency with minimum refueling
STRENGTHS
  • Recharging and re-nourishing systems allow the station to maintain itself for a long time, only needing a refuel once a month
  • Durable and self-healing physiology means the station can keep itself repaired ad infinitum provided it has the necessary nutrients
  • A Force connection allows it to maintain station-keeping in orbit of a star, with minimal power requirements
WEAKNESSES
  • Entirely organic composition requires regular & frequent refueling & resupplying
  • No armament of any kind means that it is quite vulnerable to attack
  • Decent but unconventional defense limits the punishment it can keep up with
  • Cannot enter an atmosphere
DESCRIPTION
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a unique skillset must be in want of a custom space station. Jack set out to craft his from purely flora and fungal compounds. By carefully designing an external hull not unlike that of a pressure-sealed cactus, the Mirasol was tugged into orbit by the Pod. Unfurling it there, he began grafting additional components on, basing it on the flexibility & durability of the Pod. Once the basic outline was done, he began carefully arranging and designing the interior, modelling it on natural & luxurious creature comforts.

With the basic design & survivability in place, the station took shape, spiraling and twisting to create a self-sufficient design. Requiring regular resupplies, the station is otherwise very durable, creating a safe haven for those who need somewhere to meet, and a safe place for Jack to relax & craft new things.

There are rules in place for those who wish to meet here, but provided they are followed, then all are free to attend. Provided it's not already full, of course.
