2 Weeks Before The Virus
________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lenna Praxon-Trozky, spent her afternoon as she spent the rest of them, in reading. For today, she found herself immersed in a romantic tale; an audiobook from her friend Niobbe, who had given it to her as a parting gift when she'd made the official move from her home world Naboo. The holobook lay open on the table beside her, the voice filling the empty space of the room while her hands worked diligently with knitting needle and yarn. The task was one that she hadn't much enjoyed as a young girl but, found it a pleasing enough activity to distract from the boredom of the last few weeks of pregnancy. The blue yarn seemed to shimmer with the light that spilled across it from the window nearby, needle dipping in and out of each loop, linking to form a blanket that was large enough to cover her lap. Like her pregnancy, she was nearing the end of her little project, and soon enough it would be done.

There had been so much change since the pregnancy announcement and now, that some days ran by her like background noise. After nine months, Lenna was finally adjusting and getting into a routine, becoming familiar with Brentaal and her role as the future matriarch of the Trozky legacy. Soon, that routine would change again, and both her and Ordon would be adjusting to life as new parents. It was a welcome change, one that she felt equal joy and great trepidation over.

They'd been diligent throughout the pregnancy and were as prepared as they were going to be. Reading all of the materials they could and following all of the doctor's instructions. But there was still that bit of fear there, the wondering of whether or not they would be good parents. With a contented sigh, Lenna placed the needles aside and paused her book, smiling down at her mound of a stomach, watching it suddenly heave as the inhabitant shifted around inside. "Well...good afternoon to you, as well." It was just a matter of waiting, now, and watching as the chrono ticked down to D-day.

It was about at that same moment, lost in thought, when she heard the swoosh of the door to the study open. She wasn't expecting anyone and had expressly asked to go undisturbed for the remainder of the afternoon. Lenna looked up curiously, wondering what was urgent enough to need her attention and break her peace, only to find that it was her husband entering the room. "Ordon?"

She shifted from her nest of cushions on the couch to stand to her feet, which in itself was now proving to be difficult, trying with a concentrated effort to not waddle the entire way over to him. "You're home early," she said with a smile and a questioningly raised brow, stretching on her toes for a greeting kiss. "Not that I'm complaining...how were the negotiations?" They both bore different obligations and responsibilities now, with Ordon's work often taking him away from her. Thus, when he was home, she was exceedingly mindful of stealing every moment she could. "Your son is awake. Vigorously flipping around, too. One might assume he was trying to escape. Would you like to feel?"
