Strengths -

  • The Right Stuff - Milo Tyranne is a scout in the Miln Astrogational Corps. It is a title and position which must be earned through guts, tenacity and intelligence, and Milo certainly demonstrated all three during his training. Able to blend the guile and casual air of a scoundrel with his professional obligations and standards, this young Miln has what it takes.

  • Quick Study - Milo, like many members of his species, finds it very easy to learn new skills and behaviors, making it simple for him to adapt to new methods and situations.

  • Innocuous - An advantage inherent in belonging to a small race; when necessary, Milo can drop from the notice of most beings, disappearing in a crowd, blending in with his surroundings, or just hiding in a place no one would bother to look.

  • Dexterity - Milo is small, but quick and nimble, and can put these advantages to use against larger beings quite competently. His agility and diminutive stature also make him hard to hit in a close-in fight.

  • Curiosity - Being an explorer, Milo has made his overdeveloped sense of adventure and inquisitiveness into his profession. Above all, he wants to see and experience all that he possibly can.

  • To Death - Like all Miln, Milo has a rather dramatic reaction to being cornered. If backed up against a wall, literal or figurative, or presented with a no-win scenario, he will try to either fight his way out or go down swinging, preferably taking a few of his opponents with him. It isn't quite a berserker rage, as he can still think clearly, but his thought processes speed up and his creativity seems to become sharper, sometimes literally.

  • No Such Thing as Luck - Milo is Force sensitive. Though he has latent strength, he has not learned to truly use it, and his power generally manifests as flashes of intuition and mild precognition, which he used to chalk up to good training and luck. Gradually, he has learned to identify his power, though he is by no means well trained.
Weaknesses -

  • Short Changed - Being a little fellow, and an rodent to boot, very few beings take Milo seriously at first encounter. Though he can generally change the view of most beings given the opportunity, this dismissal can be a problem in certain situations.

  • Physically Weak - Being as small as he is, Milo's raw strength and constitution leave much to be desired. He is good at dodging and being light on his feet, but it only takes one or two good connected blows to put him out; he also can't hit very hard, and has to rely more on weapons and clever tactics than punches or kicks. He also can't lift certain objects that the average Human would not struggle with.

  • Flight or Fight - "I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration." While this is not the mantra that Milo uses to conquer apprehension, fear is a major factor in many of his decisions; being a Miln, he is possessed of an over-developed flight reflex, meaning that his default reaction to danger is to run and hide. As part of his training, Milo underwent extensive psychological conditioning to suppress these instincts, making him far more calm, collected and proactive in the face of danger than he otherwise would be; even so, given enough stress, these defenses can break, leaving the poor young scout to succumb to an almost mindless terror he keeps bottled up inside...
Appearance -
Triter is a diminutive Miln male, 1 standard meter tall with light brown fur with white fur down his front, messy dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. When not clad in his flight suit, he typically wears a green vest, as well as a red sash around his waist. When he wants to appear a little more roguish, dashing and intimidating, he will sometimes wear his ceremonial cutlass.

Equipment -
Milo Tyranne usually carries a number of items on his person, typically useful equipment and weapons. They include the following:
Droids -
Milo is often accompanied by his Type J0 Field Utility Droid, J0-HN, affectionately named "John."
Vehicles -
Milo travels aboard a Miln Astrogational Corps Type 99 SHI scout vessel, MEV Ranger, specifically modified for long-range solo missions.

- Biography -
"You know, people back home talked a lot about things being on the horizon. What's funny is how few of them had ever actually seen what a real horizon looks like."
_Milo Tyranne.
Milo Tyranne was born at Shady Shoals 3, a small orbital habitat orbiting the planet Hafnip. The second of three children, his mother and father were career farmers, in charge of export crop yields on their habitat.
From an early age, Milo established himself as being almost nothing like his more reserved parents siblings. Curious and adventurous, he loved to learn and explore, constantly asking questions about life beyond the small habitat cluster where he and his family lived. This would often get him into trouble, at one point causing him to be brought home by the Miln Astrogational Corps after trying to stow away on an empty helium tanker bound for the planet Katryus, a gas giant in the outer reaches of the system. He was all of 7 years old at the time.
Whereas a brush with the authorities is usually enough to scare a small child into behaving, it had the opposite effect on Milo. After his rescue by the MAC, he became obsessed with the organization, vowing that he was going to become a scout when he grew old enough.

Years went by, and Milo grew up, finally leaving home at the age of 18 to attend school at Island Ease University. Fascinated by his new surroundings, Milo sadly found himself too distracted to stay in school for the required four years, and decided to leave without finishing.
Instead, the young Miln acquired a commercial pilot's license, pursuing his childhood dream of visiting the outer planets by hiring on with Horizon Logistics, a hauling company supplying equipment to the helium mining stations and habitats orbiting Katryus. On his way out to the gas giant, he visited the outposts at Milcrolla and the Asteroid Belt; unlike many of his shipmates, he was never afflicted by boredom, excited by every new experience and situation.
Milo stayed with Horizon until he was 21, when he left to take a job in the Katryus helium industry.
It was during this time that Milo was subjected to the test that made him into the being he would become.

Located at the frontier of Miln presence in their home system, the habitats and mining stations orbiting the giant planet Katryus were about as isolated as it got, until one went on to Mrakjant Deep Space Terminal at the system's very edge. The people who lived there were tough, used to dealing with their own problems without help from the inner planets, though hyperspace travel had made visits by vessels from Hafnip much more common in recent years.
And so it was the Milo was the only pilot on scene when the helium tanker Grabnau lost propulsion during an orbit insertion around Katryus, causing it to begin a terminal descent into the planet's enormous gravity well. Nearby in a small transport, Milo was able to reach the ailing vessel well before rescue vessels from Hafnip or Mrakjant could arrive from the edge of the planet's mass shadow. Thinking quickly, the young pilot was able to perform a nudging maneuver which redirected the other ship's momentum, sending it safely into orbit and saving the crew of 30 aboard.
For his actions, Milo was given a commendation by the Miln Astrogational Corps, who congratulated him on his bravery and quick thinking in a crisis. This reawakened another of the young Miln's boyhood ambitions, and shortly thereafter, he applied to take the basic training course for MAC service.

Three years later, Milo Tyranne is one of the MAC's long-range scouts, a brave explorer tasked with expanding the frontiers of his people. Over the course of his career, he has made first contact with new cultures, discovered new worlds and new life-forms, and boldly gone where no Miln ever has.
Who knew what adventures awaited our hero?

Among Milo's most interesting adventures to date was a brief love-affair with a True Sith female, Udrusa. The relationship was cut tragically short thanks to a Sith holocron recovered by Udrusa, which began to corrupt her after the two had been together for several months.
Before that point, she and Milo had been, shall we say, passionately involved, and the young explorer had hoped that he might have a future with Udrusa. The Sith had also begun to teach Milo to understand and control his latent Force abilities.
Unfortunately, Udrusa's corruption had consumed her, eventually causing her to attack Milo, which the young Miln barely survived. Horrified by what she had done, the Sith had regained self control long enough to steal a launch, leaving a note for the unconscious Milo explaining her actions, and steering her small craft into the heart of a nearby star cluster.
Milo, when he awoke, discovered Udrusa's message, and reached for her in the Force. His last contact with the Sith female was with a mind consumed by the Dark Side, a roiling pit of fear and rage barely recognizable as the woman he loved, before the link was abruptly severed.

Losing Udrusa, especially in the way he had, nearly broke Milo. The young Miln explorer wandered aimlessly afterward, barely even maintaining contact with the Miln Astrogational Corps, under whose auspices he served.
What would happen to him next?

Dawson's Bissley.

Jamie Dawson was the Captain of the Bissley and her crew,
And she flew and fought the Bissley in the war the whole way through.
Now the Bissley was the tightest ship 'tween here'n Melaniphe,
And the crew of Jamie Dawson was the same.

On patrol in sector 7, keeping watch out toward the sun,
They were jumped by 3 TIE fighters, though they weren't a match for one.
As they came to general quarters and they sent out the alarm,
Dawson's crew were sure they'd finally bought the farm.

Now they say that Jamie Dawson wasn't one to cut and run,
And they say that when she fought she had the fury of a sun.
They say she made her bargain with some power of the Night,
That she sold her soul to win her final fight.

No one living saw the battle, though the fleet was quick to leave,
And when they arrived they found a sight no sane being could believe.
Dead in space were 3 TIE fighters, spinning wreckage all around,
But no sign of Dawson's Bissley could be found.

There are tales of the Explorer, Queen of Ranroon and Barnum's Pride,
There are tales of the Rakata and the Dark Force they abide.
But the tale that chills my spirit, for I swear to you it's true!
Is the tale of Jamie Dawson and her crew.

(Instrumental interlude)

I was Second Mate on Daring Dream, a freighter of the Line,
We were shipping precious metals from a belt-side ast'roid mine.
It was on the second watch of a most uneventful flight,
When the pirate ships appeared out of the night.

Now to me there was no question, for they had us 4-to-1,
And you can't fight bloody pirates when your freighter has no gun.
So we stood by to be boarded by a party yet unseen,
When another ship appeared upon our screen.

First we thought it just a pirate but the vector was all wrong,
Then we thought it might be rescue but the signal wasn't strong.
When she didn't answer hailing we all felt an unknown dread,
For we saw her vanes were hot and glowing red.

Now the courage of that single ship is shown by very few,
More, we never knew a ship could fly the way the stranger flew.
She was outgunned, she was outnumbered, but a cheer came from our lips,
As the stranger set upon the pirate ships.

And the stranger's shells were stronger than all shells I'd seen before,
And the stranger's hull was harder than the heart of any whore.
As the battle rent the vacuum while we watched and shook our heads,
She cut the pirate ships to bloody shreds.
The pirate ships were cut to bloody shreds.

Just as quickly as it started, then the fighting was all done,
The pirate ships were beaten and the stranger's ship had won.
Though we tried to call and thank her, only static could we draw,
Then she came aside, and this is what we saw.

There were 30 holes clear through her, her rotation wheel was gone,
And we knew that when it happened, not one aboard had lived for long.
For the markings all said Bissley, deep inside us each one knew,
'Twas the tomb of Jamie Dawson and her crew.

Now instead of flying off the Bissley then began to fade,
First the vanes and then the bulkheads as we cowered there afraid.
Now there are 9 beings who will swear with me, the last to slip from view,
Were the bones of Jamie Dawson and her crew.
Yes the bones of Jamie Dawson and her crew.

There are tales of the Explorer, Queen of Ranroon and Barnum's Pride,
There are tales of the Rakata, and the Dark Force they abide.
But the tale that chills my spirit, and I swear to you it's true!
Is the tale of Jamie Dawson and her crew.
Yes the tale of Dawson's Bissley and her crew.

Hail to the Supreme Leader!
I like, [member="Milo Tyranne"], I like. I have a feeling that a soldier trained for covert operations, carrying a cybernetic arm and durasteel ribs (( All from war injuries, of course )), and is bigger and stronger than him, would fare against him. Also, Kara is rather agile herself, even in her Shadow Trooper armor.

Hail to the Supreme Leader!
Compared to most other human/humanoid species, yes. Of course, the primitive Miln's will be faster than her, but I believe that durasteel fiber-weave armor could stop bullets, since she can take a direct shot to the head and keep moving, with only scoring on her helmet. Of course, under sustained, prolonged fire her armor or others like it can be pierced by bullets. And there are also small gaps between her armor pieces... That, and an all-black soldier who can turn invisible and uses a primary weapon (The T-21) that can easily pierce most body armors in one or two shots would make for a rather fear-inducing enemy ;o Perhaps we should thread and find out... not a duel, though, just an encounter between Mile and Kara and her (NPC) personal squad.
