Sesid - Bezant Beach, A Volcanic Island

"This is delicious!" Ran said as the locals shared their culinary delicacies with her. The last of them being a milk laced fruit called a Tepa. The milk inside was sweet but mellow on Ran's tongue, while the skin and flesh of the fruit was fragrant with a subtle flowery taste. "Take it. It's free. Actually wait, take this one too, Sister. Share it with someone you like. Enjoy your day." The rotund Draedan man said as he thrust a second Tepa into Ran's arms before continuing down the beach to spread the fruit's seeds and share the island's bounty with other beachgoers.

Ran also continued down the beach but in the other direction. With her glareshades on and clothed in a simple brown swimsuit and sheer sash around her waist, she was ready for the beautiful tropical day ahead. She had a drink, a book, and her favorite sunscreen that would give her green skin a luminous jade glow. All she needed was to find someone to share the Tepa with as the Draedan who had gifted it to her had instructed. Hmmm. But who shall that be? She wondered as she paused in front of the area where she would settle for the day. She took a look around as she soaked up the sun. There were a few tourists and locals engaging in water sports at the edge of the water, there was also a family of locals to her left that was practically rich in the fruit. She turned and found someone else enjoying the beach. Like her, they weren't native. She stared at them with her arms extended out and holding the weighty fruit up, one in each hand.

"Hello. Would you like a Tepa?" She asked simply.

The humid, and hot air of this paradise was exactly something that Zaytee missed through her endless travellings. Most of the planets she had visited before were more crowded, with the busy streets burning under the relentless sun, and everything covered with dry dust, completely different her swamps filled, but wet heat covered homeland.

She sat in the sand, tired from playing all morning in the water like a curious hatchling, scarf and pants neatly folded next to her, but with her wet shirt still on, while her tail swiped across the sandpiles from time to time as new waves came and went continously, everything feeling steady, and somehow still neverendingly changing right in front of her.

This planet really felt like paradise... if she didn't count her empty stomach that she ignored all day and now was already grumbling loudly. Maybe she could catch some type of fish in the shallow waters, or climb a tree for a few fruits?

As she was deep in thought, her nose caught a sudden, sweet aroma drifting through the air, and as she turned her head to find the source, the young Kiir found herself staring at the woman standing close to her, with her hand reaching towards her with some local delicacy in it.

"Uhm... y-yeah, thank you." She said shyly, partially surprised by the newcomer while she took one of the fruits from the woman's hand. "It smells really good..."

"Smell?" Ran sniffed at the Tepa, but could barely register its sweetness by scent. Only by taste could the mirialan determine it. "You've a keen sense of smell." The green woman observed as she passed the second Tepa fruit along. "And you're welcome."

"I'm Ran. Pleasure."
She extended a greeting to the younger woman. "Am I right in assuming you aren't from Sesid? What brings you to Bezant?" Ran asked knowing there could be a multitude of answers. Ran would've assumed something as simple as the beautiful beaches, the active volcano, the food, or the people. Many came to Bezant for as much, but Ran felt that maybe, just maybe, there was a hidden and more interesting answer based on the look of the younger woman.

"My species has a bit stronger senses than most others." The young Kiir shrugged her shoulders, then shook the woman's hand with a wide smile on her face, fingers slightly sticky from the snack in her hands. "I'm Zaytee! Nice to meet ya'!"

Her tail moved to the side, smoothing the sandpiles next to her into a flatter surface, if Ran would've wanted to sit down by her side, while she took a big bite from the fruit, almost immediately letting out a soft, satisfied humming.

"Wow, this is great!" She said between bites, her tail thumping a happy rhythm on the ground. "Yeah, I'm from Okarthel... It's a small planet on the edge of the Expansion region, maybe you haven't head about it before." She licked down the juice of the fruit from her hands, not wanting to attract any type of insects by the spilled sweet scents. "And... well, I'm basicly on a big trip. I'm hitchhiking through the galaxy, visiting as many planets and space stations as I can."

Her tail made a small twitch as her thought turned toward the start of her trip. With her accidental abduction, her first throught were that she had to get home somehow... but with each planet that let her go further, each ship that let her board in exchange to do smaller work until they reached the next stop, her goal changed, and she started to enjoy the everchanging scenery of the galaxy. Most Kiir never left their homeplanet, some elders never even put their leg out of the depth of the swamps... so this all felt like a quest that nobody else ever tried before.

"What about you? Are you here to make every head turn in your way?" She asked with a small chuckle.

After Zaytee's tail finished smoothing the sandpile, Ran took a seat next to the Kiir. She made herself comfortable as the sun shone down on the pair. "I'm glad you like it, Zaytee." Ran said of the tepa as she sipped the milk of her own, then followed with another bite. "I've heard of Okarthel. I've even been there on one occasion." Ran shared with the Kiir as she relived the events of the death of the Kiir Jedi Master Kaloo. The circumstances of Ran's visit to Okarthel were less than sunny. She kept the grim memory from sullying the moment of introduction.

"As many planets and space stations as you can." Ran echoed looking at Zaytee with a new respect. "Adventure. An admirable reason to travel the hyperlanes." Ran observed before turning back to her fruit and the ocean view.

"Me?" Ran questioned with a chuckle at the reference to her being there to turn heads. "Only the right ones." She joked. "Actually, I'm here for a reset. Call it a holiday. Oftentimes my line of work leaves me with the feeling of an unbearable weight on my shoulders. My visit here is a way to relieve myself of that weight if only for a moment." Ran looked at the ocean horizon again, and attempted to cheers Zaytee with the milky fruit. "I'd say it's working." She smiled.

"How long until you are on your way to the next planet or station?" Ran asked Zaytee.

"Well, hard work surely deserves some good rest... And this planet seems perfect for it. Everybody is so kind and welcoming, I haven't been chased by anybody until now." The young Kiir giggled quietly, feets digging deep into the warm sand as she took a deep breath, the salty air filling her lungs with a fresh, and still briny scent, while the sound of crashing waves echoed in her ear.

"It depends on the ships. They come and go daily as I saw it until now, so it only on me when I want to leave. And mostly on the crews, some are more willing to take on an extra pair of hand than others." She shrugged her shoulders and playfully elbowed Ran. "Who knows, maybe my stay here will take its own route. I was planning on swimming again in the reef, I wouldn't mind finding some sea monsters, or catching some dinner... Or both at the same time."

Zaytee laid back into the sand, staring at the wide sky above them which only had a few small clouds speckled around in the bright blue vastness, while loud, screeching birds sailed on warm air currents swiftly, only appearing in her line of sight for mere moments. Her tail still moved slowly like a lazy cat's, thumping against the sand quietly from time to time, showing her awareness even in these slowly dripping, honey-like minutes.

"You know..." She turned her head toward her companion, a light, mischief smile hiding in the corner of her lips. "I wouldn't mind joining forces to bring these people a proper meal in the form of some giant fish. They are so nice, and eager to share whatever they have... They certainly deserve something in return."
