APPEARANCE:
A petite and willowy young woman, Mica is of average height, yet has a strangely boney appearance. She scavenges for almost everything in her life from jobs to food to a home. This means she is often in mismatching clothes, and she rarely takes the time to care about how she looks. She has long hair she usually lets down or will pile on top of her head to get it out of her way.
BIOGRAPHY:
Mica was born to a small family, her mother was a Vahla and her father a human. Her mother and father traveled together nearly constantly on their ship. Her mother was constantly searching for the Vahla homeworld and her father respected his wife's ancestry enough to follow her, though as time went on, he stayed more for Mica than he did her mother. Her father was a trained doctor and often used his skills for the various crews they came across at space stations. Mica had a happy enough childhood roaming the galaxy with her parents, and lessons from her mother about how to be in touch with the Force. Despite their lack of funds and stable home life, the Chanda's were content enough.
However, as time went on, her mother grew more and more desperate and despondent about her search for the Vahla homeworld. The further she felt from her quest, the more her anger began to show. At first, the few times she mentioned things like an ember or finding new sources of power were off-hand comments Mica and her father never paid mind to, until they could not ignore it any longer. After comments of using Mica in her plans to find this unknown world, Mica's father fled with his eight-year-old daughter one night while the family was docked on a space station and her mother was working for a smuggling ring. Father and daughter left everything behind and escaped into space, relying on the help of a captain of a smuggling freighter who knew the family. They were allowed to stay on the ship as long as they worked and the Captain, Kaleb Tallmadge, was kind enough to Mica, teaching her about ships and space and how to survive while her father helped her stifle the Force from her life and raise her to be a Doctor like him.
When Mica turned sixteen, she began working for Tallmadge as a member of the crew, her father unable to take part in much of the work as he aged. She still let him train her in the medical field, but she found herself accompanying Tallmadge to space ports more and more, learning the craft of smuggling first hand. The thrill of the work excited her and the allure of the dangerous profession kept her working hard to learn to survive on her own. However, she had grown up on Tallmadge's ship, the Starwinds, and she was sure that when Tallmadge retired, he'd let her stay on, or maybe even leave the ship and business to her. Those dreams would never be realized, though.
After a particularly profitable job, the Starwinds was ambushed by pirates. Tallmadge fought to give his crew enough time to escape. While the escape pods and shuttles began to flee into space, Mica was trying to help her captain and father. After Tallmadge took on the bulk of the pirates, Mica tried to get her father onto a shuttle so they could escape as well and honor the Captain's sacrifice. However, before they could reach the shuttle, they were caught. Mica's father was shot in the gut and while Mica was able to drag him to the shuttle and take off, she couldn't save him. While the Starwinds was captured, Mica slipped away into space.
