Corellian Luck - Like most Corellians, Merek has a tendency to ignore the odds and come out on top. This may make him a little reckless at times, or seem to be.

APPEARANCE:
Merek stands approximately 178 centimeters in height with dark hair blue eyes, and the build of a male human who engages in frequently if not daily vigorous and intense exercise. He typically neat mustache and goatee. If he has the occasional beard it is also sufficiently groomed. His tanned complexion comes about from spending plenty of time out of doors planetside, as much as he might also be cooped up in a ship, so it varies depending on where he has spent most of his time.
When attending various Jedi functions he often wears a Corellian Jedi uniform cuztomised for him. Otherwise, he wears military style boots, tactical cargo pants, a load-bearing belt, a shirt, and racing style jacket. Almost always has a blaster pistol on one thigh, a couple vibro weapons, and his lightsaber, unless he has to leave it behind to fit in somewhere.

BIOGRAPHY:
Merek is one of three brothers born to Orsan and Iella Nigel. Both operated in the interests of their planet and government. Orsan was a career soldier, and Iella was an intelligence operative. The two met in the field and after years working together started a family after retiring and opening up an establishment. Merek, his twin Dierk, and their younger brother Decon grew up happy for the most part. Orsan and Iella passed their skills over time to the brothers.
Merek, along the way, took up training in Teras Kasii and eventually became an expert, in addition to all the things he learned from his folks. The other brothers followed similar paths and competed with each other. Some of their roughhousing became neighborhood legends. Growing older, Merek became an instructor and contractor, working various jobs.
His strength in the Force remained largely uknown to him, and he maintained a healthy distrust of all Force users. But eventually a small group of Jedi contacted him to pilot for them, as an able pilot with a fast, stealthy ship at the time. They needed cover and extraction on a rescue operation for one of their own that was in the tender loving care of some pirates with a tendancy for slaving. The operation went mostly according to plan, despite leaving two of the team in terrible condition. The return trip left Merek time to interact with his employers and their rescuee, where they all told him about his strength in the Force, finally convincing him there might be something to it.
During the trip back, he became friends with their rescuee, and found himself feeling quite protective of her. The two drew closer, and eventually he began to teach her his skills, making her a more capable fighter even without the Force. She began to teach him in the ways of the Force, rebuilding her own strength and connection with the Force in the process. The two formed a powerful bond as they each sharpened each other.
Years later, Merek is now a powerful, skilled knight in his own right, and seeks to do what he can to push back the dark, as he had been raised.
