OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Mehv Esiils (Mind Eaters)
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Origins: Noxis
  • Average Lifespan: Fifty Years
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: At a glance, the Mehv Esiils are a race of bipedal reptilian-insectoids that scuttle across the ground with frightening speed and are capable of chasing down even the largest Orc at the time of the hunt. They are by and large nocturnal, although the ability to discern time on Noxis is dubious at best, and can be seen most of the time in great masses in their hives.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type-1
  • Average Height of Adults: 152cm/1.5m (5 feet)
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Light Brown
  • Hair color: N/A
  • Distinctions:
Limbs: Mehv Esiils have four exceptionally muscular limbs, two legs for locomotion and two arms for multipurpose tool usage and manipulation of large weapons and food. The arms end in clawed hands that themselves can be used to rip through flesh and bone like bread or for climbing, the latter of which is highly common for this race.
  • Retractable Pincers: Their abdomen possesses a pair of retractable pincers that can pierce their prey and inject a potent venom that can immobilize them for up to five hours.
  • Hide: Their hide has also proven to be somewhat resistant to blasters, roughly the same way armorweave is. When this hide is penetrated, the Mehv Esiils bleed neon-green blood.
  • Eyes and Mouth: Mehv Esiils have four gold, multi-faceted compound eyes that give them a great advantage in their hunts. Their mouths, which they hide behind retractable thin layers of skin, are also comprised of razor sharp metallic chrome teeth able to tear through flesh and bone just as easily as their claws.

[*]Races:
  • N/A. All Mehv Esiils follow the same genetic structure, and without a leader caste they all resemble each other almost identically, with only the genders being discernible by the length of their pincers and claws.

[*]Force Sensitivity: Non-Sensitive
[*]Strengths:
  • Hivemind: The Mehv Esiils , over the years, have developed a highly connected hivemind, able to transfer thoughts and memories of their race across each other instantaneously. This allows them to become masters of hunting and, if the Koignalteth desired to use them as such, fantastic infiltrators and assassins.
  • Devour Knowledge: The Mehv Esiils greatest ability is their consumption of the minds of their victims, absorbing all that they know to add to the hive-mind. However, due to the ebb and flow of the planet, this collected intelligence will wane over time, forcing them to consistently consume. While the knowledge is limited to the Ols only, there have been several cases of highly intellectual Ols who have proven to be a challenge to even the Koignalteth at times, although the Mind Eaters have always aided their creators with great fervor.
  • Claws and Teeth: With their powerful claws and chrome teeth, the Mehv Esiils are capable of shredding flesh and splitting bone with magnificent ease.
  • Speed and Agility: The Mehv Esiils are surprisingly dexterous and quick for their muscular body, running at the relative speed of a low-end speeder.

[*]Weaknesses:
  • No Technology: Beyond primitive spears and shields, the Mehv Esiils possess no technology and are generally seen as a simple, barbaric race, in spite of their gestalt intelligence. Much like the Helgardi, they take great pride in this, but are much more willing to accept the existence of superior races and will not charge suicidally into battle.
  • The Causality of Noxis: The ever shifting nature of the planet has proven to be the downfall of the Mehv Esiils hundreds of times, wiping out their entire species until the Koignalteth take the time to create them once again to once again live through their inevitable path of creation and destruction.
  • Leaderless Society: The Mehv Esiils do not possess a racial leader and often consult the Null Koignalteth appointed to maintain their society. This lack of a set leader has led to a great deal of infighting and confusion which only aids in their consistent downfall following creation.

CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore.
  • Communication: Clicks, hisses, and yips.
  • Technology level: N/A. Insectoid hives.
  • Religion/Beliefs: The Mehv Esiils heavily worship their creators, the Koignalteth, who they view as Gods amongst the Galaxy. The religion itself does not have an official name like the Helgardi's, but it more or less follows similar codes and conduct, save for the almost suicidal desire to prove their worth.
  • General Behavior:
Disposition: Mehv Esiils have no clear or definable personalities as most other species would know them. No emotions can be discerned from their faces or their patterns of behavior, though rapid twitching of their eyes indicate agitation. Acting spontaneously, they are unpredictable, but show no inclination toward any side of the spectrum of morality. These traits make them utterly alien to other races, and people unfamiliar with them would likely regard them simply as savage and brutal monsters.
  • Hunting: Mehv Esiils view themselves and other beings in terms of the relationship between predator and prey. They see themselves as noble hunters, and are wholly focused on survival and the basic needs of existence, a life in which the weak die and the strong survive, which is not not unlike the Helgardi. They were not cruel or evil if they had no need to be, but nor did they go out of their way to aid others if they did not have to. By instinct, they saw humanoid beings as food first and as trading partners or allies second.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Mehv Esiils are an ancient race, one of the first of the Koignalteth's creations of yore and one of two that survived the Cataclysm. Once the main fighting force for their creators, the Mehv Esiils were feared as ruthless hunters and trackers and even more ruthless combatants willing to do all that was needed to ensure victory in battle. With spear and shield, they helped many a Koignalteth conquer a star system and/or sector of the Galaxy. Many even served as the honor guard for the Atheed due to their prowess in combat and undying willingness to fight for their creators.

However, following the Cataclysm, the Mehv Esiils have fallen into despair and are now, more or less, exiled to their homeworld and doomed to live a constant life of destruction and creation until the Koignalteth see it fit to break the cycle of mourning. While they have retained their racial skills and traits, they no longer use it to help conquer the stars, but rather only to survive and combat their feral kin known as the Ols.

Until such time as the Koignalteth quit their self-pity and fear of rising from the ashes of their fall, the Mehv Esiils are cursed to live a life of meaningless survival.

A great submission that further fleshes out your Noxis concept.

If you refer to the template, you'll note that you are missing the Races part (should be between Distinctions and Force Sensitivity). I understand that this may be N/A, but please include that and just mark as appropriate.

I also noted that you have several references to the Koignalteth throughout the submission. I'd appreciate if you would drop a link in for them as well, so that it's clear to the reader just what it is that you're referring to there.

Please tag me once you have had an opportunity to make your edits.
