ADVANCED SYSTEMS
renan-longatti-titan-3.jpg

Strengths:
  • Battleship - Each Mon Calamari V has a formidable array of turbolasers and missile racks, and are capable of easily brawling with ships of similar size and even small battlecruisers. Its shielding, while not as advanced as those of newer and larger vessels, can still take an impressive beating before breaking down.
  • Artillery - The primary weapons of a MC-V are its five massive, triple-barrelled turbolasers. While there are certainly bigger weapons in the galaxy, each of the five turrets packs a whopping two hundred turbolasers worth of power.
  • 360 Degrees - A trademark feature of nearly all Outer Rim-produced vessels, there are guns covering every side and angle of the MC-V, effectively removing any blind spots.
Weaknesses:
  • The bridge! - While the large, open command bridge of a MC-V has many tactical benefits, it is also highly vulnerable to attack. Once the shielding of the MC-V is penetrated or destroyed, the glasteel windows can only handle a few turbolaser bolts before it shatters. A single proton torpedo will do the job just as well.
  • Unfocused - Another, not as great trademark feature of ORME warships is that they can only fire half their armament, at most, at a single enemy at a time. Therefore, a wedge-shaped Destroyer of similar dimensions and features will have an offensive advantage over a MC-V.
  • Belly Up - The five main guns of a MC-V are all on top of the vessel, creating a noticeable armament disparity on the bottom of the ship. If a large capital ship were to attack from an angle beneath the firing fields of the main guns, the MC-V would be especially vulnerable.
  • Heavy Weapons - There are many restrictions involving the five main guns of the MC-V. They can only fire in a 180 degree arc facing in front of them, they can only angle 60 degrees upward and can hardly tilt 20 degrees downward. Additionally, all five guns cannot be fired at a single target unless the target is parallel with the MC-V, and have blind spots above their barrels at close range and below the ship at any range.
Description: The Mon Calamari-V class Star Defender, also known as the MC-V, was made in memory of Mon Calamari.

Planning of what would become the MC-V began days after the fateful siege of the Mon Calamari homeworld, in an attempt to raise the morale of both Outer Rim Military Engineering and the Mon Calamari people. Its concept was that of a powerful battleship, fleets of it liberating Mon Calamari once again. The design was so popular that hundreds of engineers from outside companies were contracted by ORME to work on the vessel.

Overall, the MC-V combines elegance and function very well. The ship is visually appealing, with the ovular shape common in Mon Calamari vessels. Additionally, its interior is well-organized, guaranteeing the quickest paths to essential battle stations. A powerful and diverse armament guarantees effectiveness against all classes of enemy vessels, while its defenses are equally impressive. There is a minimal toll on hangar capacity and speed, and a MC-V is generally well-rounded.

It takes a crew of around twenty thousand to effectively control a MC-V, slightly above average for a vessel of its size but regardless, the demand is balanced out fairly by including autonomous labor. A MC-V's crew can typically be fed for about a year before resupply is necessary. While a MC-V can enter atmospheres, it cannot store legions and requires special care to land on planetary surfaces.

Sorry for getting back to you so late.

Reduced production levels, speed, and hangar capacity

[member="Rick Kaloo"], balance looks good now. But with limited production, the affiliation should probably be narrower.

Production: The scale is Unique (Only One Character), Semi-Unique (Maximum of 10 characters), Limited (Only one small group of characters. IE: Small task force, not entire factions.), Minor (Large groups of characters. (IE: Multiple factions, companies, or groups.), Mass-Produced. (Anyone.) Characters refer to NPCs & PCs. For production limitations on who can make what, please see For more details see the Star Ship rules)))
I'd say a 'small task force' is probably a single fleet within a major faction. It may be easier to simply make this minor production so that you can use it across multiple factions. With that though, another rating would have to be reduced or a significant weakness introduced.
