Saram took a long breath of fresh sea air as the breeze gently tugged at her clothes. There were probably better ways to spend her pay than on Whyrren's Reserve, especially on a planet like this where she was sure as haran being upcharged for it. Then again, it was her shabla vacation that she admittedly almost had to be forced to take so she was going to as she pleased. Putting her drink down, she nibbled the bread on her plate more out of idleness than hunger. She glanced once more at the empty chair then back at the view of the bay from the restaurant. The view was not new to her, she'd been to Fyre's once already on her trip. The decor was simple, the food was good and the service attentive but not intrusive. It was everything she liked in a restaurant. For a moment she wondered why she was so reticent to taking a vacation more often. She always enjoyed herself when she did. Then again, no one was immune to making bad decisions.

The company had made a number of bad decisions during the CIS contract, specifically to entice the Mandalorians in CIS space into working with the company. She'd nearly lost her squad as a result. Her vode. Thankfully they'd course corrected and stopped short of complete lunacy. She'd tried to ask Shuklaar what had happened, but as usual her ori'vod had quietly and efficiently handled the whole affair. So quietly and efficiently that no matter how much she'd dug she couldn't find out anything more than several people had resigned from their positions in the company and Shuklaar had personally apologized to those affected. There was a compensation package on offer, which she'd politely declined of course.

Instead, the company was pushing the freelancer program, or the mav've'verd as it was known in Mando'a. Literally translated it was more along the lines of free mercenary, but she could care less about the name itself. More importantly, commanders were given the provision to hire mav've'verd as they saw fit. No sooner than she'd heard the news had Saram made the call to the first person she'd thought of when she heard the news; Aselia. She didn't even wait till she'd finished with her vacation. Plus, she could think of far worse places than the seaside restaurant she was at to deliver the good news to her vod.

Aselia reveled in the sensation of warm sand beneath her, the gentle caress of the sun on her skin, and the rhythmic symphony of ocean waves crashing on the shore. She had been savoring these rare moments of peace when her communicator broke the tranquil spell with a persistent beep – a reminder that she actually did have something she was supposed to be doing right now.

Reluctantly, she tore herself away from the sun-soaked haven, her heart still yearning for the serene beachfront. In a hurry, she stood up and slipped into a pair of pants, her fingers deftly navigating the familiar patterns of fasteners. The pants covered her bikini bottom, she felt eyes on her and the redhead looked over at guy about her age watching. She chuckled a bit then turned and bent over to collect her shirt, pulling it over her head and covering the bikini top, the guy would have to do without further stimulus.

She reached down and took hold of the handles of a large unassuming bag, inside was her Mandalorian armor and an assortment of weapons, a reminder that her respite was temporary.

Once prepared, Aselia embarked on the journey to meet Saram. Her hair, tousled by the sea breeze, added a touch of wild beauty to her appearance. With every step, she felt the pull of the sun-drenched shore, a longing for the tranquility she had momentarily abandoned.

At the seaside restaurant, Saram awaited her, seated at a table that offered a breathtaking view of the bay. Saram's presence, always a source of reassurance, elicited a smile from Aselia as she approached.
Apologizing for her delay, she greeted Saram with a playful grin. The sun had kissed her skin, leaving it with a radiant glow. "Might have gotten a bit carried away with some me time sorry." she said, her tone carrying both an excuse and a hint of wistfulness. "So, what's the big news, Saram?" she asked as she slid into the seat across from her friend.

A warm, genuine smile flickered across her features the moment her trained eyes picked up Aselia entering the restaurant. There was almost no one that wasn't part of the company that she was on a friendly basis with. Aselia was an exception to that rule. She waved dismissively, "There's no need to apologize for making the best of your time off. You'll have to give me some advice some time." She stood up, taking her seat again only once Aselia had sat down. "Hungry? I get to bill this one to the company, it's technically a lunch meeting," she officered, smirking at the idea of not having to pay for lunch, not that she did much with her paycheck for it to make a difference.

"To get to the point, company has a new program. Subcontract with or instead of company personnel. Discounted products from Breshig, Locke and Key and VisTech, not to mention discounted medical and free support if you're on your own and need help. Commanders like yours truly get full say on hiring, so the job's yours if you want it. More freedom but with almost all the perks, what do you say? We're having lunch either way, by the way, it's been too long," she said, taking a breath to steady her thoughts rather than because she needed it.

She studied Aselia's face carefully for any early indication of what her response was going to be. As far as pitches went, it wasn't the worst, but then again there was a reason no one came to her when they needed to boost recruiting numbers. As far as she knew, Aselia didn't need the money per se, then again, few who'd been working in this profession for any meaningful amount of time needed the money, but it paid the bills and kept you sharp and with something to do. That was all most Mandalorians could really ask for in any case.
