OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Heavy Armour, Stealthy
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: Very High
    • Kinetic: Very High
    • Lightsabers: Very High
    • EMP: None
    • Elemental: Very High
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Susurra weave: The robes makes very little noise due to the integrated Susurra weave. This does not affect the body glove nor the armoured plates.
  • Baffleweave: Baffleweave is integrated in the robes and in the bodyglove. Unless the robes are taken off, the armour will hide the user from technological sensors.
  • Adegan crystal weave: Helps a force sensitive wearer find peace and centre themselves. Is particularly helpful for focusing on stealth abilities.
  • Polytetraflouroethylene: Both the outer part of the body glove and the armoured plates are coated with polytetraflouroethylene which makes liquids slip off. The robes can still get wet, however.
  • Built-in flashlight: A single flashlight is built in by the left chest plate.
STRENGTHS
  • Above average plates: The armoured plates of this piece of heavy armour are above average. They are thicker and have extremely well worked materials which means that they are well suited to withstand a number of attacks without even getting close to breaking.
  • Durable body glove: The skin-tight elastic body glove is very durable and is what mainly protects the user against elemental attacks. It can withstand extreme temperatures, fire, ice and electricity, for instance.
  • Sneaky robes: The main advantage of the robes is not that they are silent, it is that they protect the wearer from being detected by sensors. This enhances the wearer's capacity to hide greatly.
  • Peace and centring: The Adegan Crystal weave integrated in the robes aids the user centre themselves and better their focus. This is particularly true when they focus on stealth abilities.
  • Storage: The armour has many seams, straps and pouches along with surprisingly deep pockets.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP: This armour has no defence against EMPs whatsoever. Even the slightest blast will take out its mounted flashlight. Electronic equipment inside the armour will enjoy no protection from EMP at all - it might as well be out in the open.
  • Gaps: There are rather large gaps between the armour plates which reduces the precision needed to get a strike in between them or the bad luck required for a bullet to slip past it.
  • No Darksiders: The robes which carry the Adegan Crystal weave will have a slight but noticeable effect on the wearer in that it pulls them toward the light. This is rarely ever enough to make someone have an actual change of heart, but it is enough to rub the balance of a darksider enough to make them concentrate more poorly while wearing the armour. If the wearer falls to the dark side, it will make the armour much less efficient.
  • Robes can get in the way: During instances when acrobatics were more relevant, the robes could get in the way.
  • Heavy: The heavy armour was even heavier than average which meant that the user needed a certain degree of strength and stamina to wear it.
DESCRIPTION
Mathieu's Heavy Cover Armour was created and designed by Mathieu Brion himself. He was used to wearing heavy armour in the past during his days as a Mercenary and had mostly transitioned to wearing robes after joining the Silver Jedi Order. The safety of wearing armour was missed, however - and unlike wielding a blaster, the armour was unlikely to get someone killed. This was one of the primary motivators behind him returning to it.

While he was returning to wearing heavy armour, it was not the same as he had worn before. This one had much stronger protective properties than his previous heavy armour which was more mediocre. Of course, it had its downsides - this armour had no protection against EMPs and the armoured plates were heavier than the average ones. Still, with their tremendous capacity to withstand other punishment, Mathieu found it to be worthwhile.

The appearance was not all too similar to this former armour, however. the lines in this set tended to be softer and the plate design allowed for more agility and fluidity in the movements. It also had a warmer hue of grey in its plates. But what truly made it stand out from his old armour was that it was designed to be worn with Jedi robes.

The skintight and elastic body glove was black in colour and was composed of a mixed weave of plastithread, duranex, insulfiber and baffleweave. This gave it sensor blocking qualities as well as a good resistance to punishment. Particularly against elemental attacks - in fact, the body glove was the main protection against elemental attacks and had the added advantage of covering almost the entire body. It also had a polytetrafluoroethylene coating which meant that liquids would simply flow off of it.

The armoured plates shared the same coating and could also withstand extreme temperatures. They had more forms with softer edges than Mathieu's former armour and the gaps between the plates were significantly larger, allowing for greater mobility and flexibility. The drawback, of course, was that it increased the number of vulnerable areas compared to if the gaps had been smaller. The plates of the armour are slightly thicker than average and have been worked thoroughly in order to maximize their durability. It was strong enough to provide better protection than average heavy armour against energy, kinetic, lightsabre and elemental attacks.

This did come at a cost, however, as the increased weight from the thicker and more protective plates resulted in the armour being heavier overall. This is, of course, more demanding than an armour which would have been lighter and does little to improve the wearers buoyancy. The built in flashlight did little to affect the weight however. While it was neat to be able to summon a light source without needing to hold it, it also only shone where the wearer's torso was directed.

The robes consisted of baffleweave, duranex, susurra weave and an Adegan Crystal weave. Together, these made for a durable robe which didn't produce much noise and hid the wearer from technological scanners. But in addition to that, the Adegan Crystal weave was particularly well suited at aiding the wearer concentrate on stealthy force abilities. For a lightsider they were useful in general as they allowed for better centring and concentration - this was not true for dark siders, however, as their concentration would rather be rubbed by the pull of the light side.

While it may be difficult to remove the armour plates from the body glove in the midst of combat, throwing off the Jedi robes was easy and could be done with one fluent motion.
