SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System (Link): The Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System, also known as MFTAS, was a sensor system used in helmets that provided assistance in acquiring targets in conditions of poor visibility and at long ranges.
  • Enviro-Filter (Link): n enviro filter or air filter was a device designed to allow wearers to breathe normally in environments that would be otherwise dangerous. Some filters were sealed, with an integrated oxygen supply, to allow the wearer to breathe in the absence of an environment. The bounty hunter Mist had a sealed enviro filter as part of her suit of armor, with a three hour supply of oxygen; the helmets of many armor sets had air filters. They were a standard part of starships and space stations, and even some heavily-urbanized worlds such as Coruscant. Servicing of the air filters was part of a standard maintenance package.
Strengths & Weaknesses:
+Like bubble-wrap, only metal: The Ghoul TICA is designed to provide maximum protection whilst out on the battlefield, at least to conventional weapons. Blasters and kinetic weapons are this armor set's bread and butter and can easily soak up numerous hits from both weapon types thanks to a multi-layer system of Durasteelt plating with an armor-weave undersuit. Whilst this might sound all sunshine and rainbows, there are still two areas of protection that this armor platform is severely lacking against.

+No power? No problem: Fortunately, the only part of the armor that requires powering is the MFTAS. Even if hit by an EMP, the trooper is still fully protected by both the armor itself and from any dangers that could arise from situations where an Enviro-Filter is required.

-Like a sumo suit, only metal: The Ghoul TICA is heavy and bulky, thanks to the sheer amount of protection that it provides. It's not impossible to move about in but don't expect to be taking part in a gymnastics competition.

-Like a light-saber through tissue paper: Despite being a great help against both Blaster and Kinetic weapons, lightsabers remain a lethal threat thanks to their ability to cut through the armor as if it were nothing. On a similar note, sonic, EMP and elemental forms of attacks are also a weakness of this armor; whilst it offers some, it's nowhere near capable of negating the damage caused by these sorts of attacks.

Description: The Ghoul TICA is designed for one purpose in mind, protection against the main two forms of warfare in the current day and age; blasters and kinetic weapons. On the surface, the TICA utilizes a 'casing' of Durasteel consisting of a multi-layer system, resulting in a thick plating upon the core of the body that would require numerous blaster bolts and kinetic rounds to break through; protecting vital organs and so on. Shock absorbers have also been implemented within the internal layer of the body armor itself, in order to assist with any kinetic force produced from being hit and prevent any possible internal damage from such an attack. The same can be said for the helmet, utilizing a similar method to the main armor to protect the wearer's head from harm. The weak-points can be located at both the wearer's limbs, where there is little armor plating present, instead a simple armor-weave body suit being present with knee-pads and elbow-pads being present. The suit also comes equipped with tactical rigging, allowing the wearer to carry additional equipment.
